Western Rivers Flyfisher Guides and Shuttle Service

I grew up in northwestern Colorado and have fished the Green in Utah and Colorado (unguided) many times in the past 45 years. Our group (4 anglers in two boats) did a one-night trip on sections below Flaming Gorge with WRF. The guides (Garrett and James) were professional and extremely pleasant and helpful. Some of the flies we used were their own inventions. Our camp host, Tanner, worked extremely hard to set up/tear down camp and served fantastic food and drink and spoiled us. As a bonus, the scenery was spectacular, the weather was perfect and the fishing was great. I highly recommend WRF!

I flew into Salt Lake for business on Monday and Tuesday and we were able to connect with Western Rivers Flyfisher guides who sent us out on Wednesday with James G. James taught and refined many of the techniques that my father I had known and put us on the fish immediately. I caught 7 of the largest trout in my life and my father caught 3, I cannot explain how memorable of a time it was for us. Through the elements (rain, sleet, thunder, lightning, wind gusts, 38 degree temp) James brought us to the fish and hooked us up with monsters on Dry flys. It was an incredible experience. Special thanks to James and the Western Rivers Flyfisher guides, outstanding work, incredibly professional in communication and an amazing memory my father and I will cherish forever. If you are in Utah and enjoy fly fishing - WRF (Western Flyfisher guides) is the way to go.

Hands down the best Green River fishing experience. Had the opportunity to do a two day float and it was a trip of the lifetime. Everyone from the shop, our camp hosts Cyrus and Natalie, and our guide James were stellar. Not only did we hook into our personal bests but gained so much knowledge and left as better anglers. This will now be an annual trip. Highly recommend going with WRF and James as your guide. Excited to go back!

Absolutely phenomenal experience with Jack as our river guide! From his expert knowledge of the local waters to his friendly demeanor and patience, every aspect of our trip was top-notch. My wife and I had a great day on the A stretch of the Green with our guide Grey. She had never fly fished before and I’m a relative newbie. Grey was super patient and had so many great tips for both of us. We did catch some beauts, and had added thrills rolling through a hailstorm in rapids! And you probably already know of the stunning beauty of this river which is worth the trip in itself.

I don't leave reviews often, but I have to for these guys...
I only came in to have them run our shuttle, which they did without any hiccups at all.
But once I started asking questions about fishing conditions on each section, and what the fishies were biting on currently, a couple of them were super excited to talk with me for 15+ minutes about everything from basics to real detailed local stuff. Answering questions I didn't even know to ask!!

Cori is a professional. She is incredibly knowledgeable and willing to share every piece of knowledge she has. She was willing to explain the river and how it changes through out the day and through out each of the 4 seasons. She has an absolute passion for fly fishing and is in love with the Green River you can see her dedication and mastery of those fish. She was kind and very respectful. Our lunch, cheeseburger and veggies burgers were cooked perfectly and we enjoy the scenery and the magnificent river. She was mindful and always communicated what she was doing and how it would effect our drift/fishing. She put us on 20 plus fish and we had a fantastic time. I will never go on that river with anyone but her as my guide. She was 11/10. I couldn’t ask for anything better. Thank you Cori. Can’t wait for our next trip. Had a great time on the river. It definitely lived up to the hype! Cole, our guide put us on fish all day and made the trip even better with his personality. He was a true professional and made us feel right at home. His oar skills are 2nd to none. Thanks Western for an epic trip I won't forget!

We had a fantastic day on the Green with Garrett. He was delightful company, an amazing guide and a gentleman. Caught some really nice sized browns and rainbows thanks to Garrett's excellent instructions, patience, where to cast our flies and telling us to set when we got a good shopper. WRFG made booking and instructions for preparing for the trip easy. Garret personally phoned us the night before the trip to make arrangements, get our lunch order and answer any questions....which is exceptional service in this day and age of texting and emails. We will definitely book with WRFG and with Garrett again.

What an amazing trip! Could not recommend Western Rivers more. Beautiful river, great fishing, comfortable camp, delicious food, fantastic guides/camp host.

Last Saturday was quite cold and very windy, but it turned out to be an awesome day on Section A, mainly because of our great guide Garrett Morse. His patience, knowledge of the river and his calming demeanor in the boat, made for a stress free day on the river. Which was needed after stress filled work. We boated 15 fish on different flies, with a few fish from 20"-18" in size. Can't thank Garrett enough for one the best days I have ever had on the Green River. Also want to say the team that Garrett works with and the fly shop team all made you feel welcome and acknowledged you, much appreciated this.

My buddy and I had an epic day on the Green River with our guide, Jack. We caught fish, had a lot of laughs, and learned to become better fishermen. It's the first time we had floated the Green, and it won't be the last. Western Rivers Flyfisher Guides were top notch in their service.

My Dad and I had unbelievable days on the Green with Darren and Eli. Amazing guiding by both, perfect weather, and best of all - nonstop fish! Already booked next summer's trip and cannot wait!

This was my husbands second time booking a single day fishing trip, and second time with Cole as a guide. He and his 2 brothers took their dad Jim for his 80th birthday. Cole was amazing and so calm. He never gave up on Jim and made sure he caught a fish, even trying until literally the last few minutes left of the fishing trip. Cam was their other guide and he made sure they were able to catch multiple fish. It was definitely a trip they will always remember. We highly recommend Cole and Cam as guides.

The Green River is beautiful. Jack was our guide and took us through section B in late August. He set us up well to check some big fish. My dad and I only fly fish once every couple years and Jack got us up to speed quickly, quickly enough to catch a fish 5 minutes into the float. We had a nice picnic style lunch at one of the camp grounds and Jack was happy to tell us about the Green River birds and life in Utah. It was great!

Thank you to Tyler and all the folks at WRF Guides. My son Peter and I did two trips with you this year (April and July), and one of my July days was the best ever on the Green River. Tyler is knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. My son and I both learned a ton about fishing and the history of the Green River. See you next year.

We had the best day on the water with Eli! Such an easy going, seasoned, knowledgeable guide. He put us on a ton of trout. We had as great of an experience as we could. It was our first time floating the Green River. We’ll absolutely book again with Western Rivers.
