Certainly has a lot of picnic tables! About 30 to be exact, plus more under the pavilion with a few grills on the grounds as well. Swing sets and a playground for kids are present just above the boat dock, boat ramp, beach, and swimming area.

In the center overlooking the lake is an enclosed events facility that can be rented to accommodate a wide variety of gatherings. On the side of this building are restrooms and showers. A $5 daily fee for boat ramp parking is posted.

This park has a great historical background as well. Founded in 1950 by Tuskegee Airman John Atkinson upon returning from WW2, it became the summer home of St. John's Ski Bees ski club and hosted live musical concerts by rock n roll legends such as Little Richard and Ray Charles.

Basic day use area on the shores of lake Allatoona with a small sand beach, play ground, pavilion and recreation room. Restrooms available. The park has hundreds of wooded acres to explore. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes to protect yourself from the large amount of broken glass found in some areas. There is a $5.00 day use fee per vehicle to park at the beach and day use area. To avoid the fee it is possible to park just outside the fee gates at the baseball fields and walk in, especially if you are there to hike instead of using the beach area. Here is my 6 year old son's review: " 5 stars. This place has everything a boy needs - a lake with beach to play on and fish to catch, and woods to roam in".

Quiet. Clean. Historic. I felt a sense of respect. Boat launch, trailer parking. It wsd $5 for admission, I went on a weekend mid to late afternoon, around 3p.

Nice, quiet park with a small beach on the lake, loads of fun to be had!
The park can be reserved for private party but there no way to check prior to arrival(beside calling maybe) that someone has it reserved. We arrived on a day that it was reserved after a 90 mins drive. Luckily the people who reserved it let us hang out with them!

Very historic place right in our own backyard. This was the first beach that Blacks could use prior to desegregation. Metro Atlanta churches as well as local schools and churches used this property as a retreat and picnic area. The country took over the park several years ago and have done an awesome job working with the historic committees to preserve and enhance features making it a great place for gatherings. My church had it's annual picnic there. And we love it

It was BEAUTIFUL!! We went to celebrate a family member's birthday, who rented a cabin. Everyone had such a great time and my kids had a blast! We went Saturday and Sunday & both nights when we left, we saw lots of deer.

I think this is a great park.
There are public facilities; a bathroom and shower building.
The main attraction is the boat ramp and the small public sand beach.
It's a day use area and it's a great place to bring a picnic. There seem to be more fish around here than other beaches on Allatoona that might nibble at you if you're still in the water so be careful!

Beach gets an extra star for being a historic landmark, it was once the African-American beach in Bartow County and visitors came from all over the area to go here. There is a very informative historic information sign at the beach that will tell you more.

For the 2nd year in a row the Keith Family of Canton, Ga has used this location for our family reunion. I remember back in the day when it simply called The Beach. I love this place! The swimming area and picnic tables are available to the public and there is a public restroom. To use the pavillion and the building there is a cost involved.

This park is secluded and peaceful. It hasa ⚾ field and picnic area. It has a playplace, restrooms, and waste cans. The park has plenty of large open grassy area to suit whatever want your heart desires. 😉.
