Pepper on 23

My first meal in New Orleans and I almost cried with the roast beef debris and gravy fries! Everything homemade.. had grandma’s crab patty recipe - the best I’ve ever had! Staff were the most friendly, will definitely be coming back!

First time at Pepper on 23, and it won’t be our last! From the time you walk in, you’re greeted by friendly employees, Jailynn and Shelly; who make you feel at home. We ordered the onion rings as an appetizer, and they were delicious! You don’t get many places that make the thin onion rings, and these were made with red onions and a very delicious batter! I had the seafood platter, it had shrimp, oysters, catfish, hush puppies, corn nuggets and fries. The batter is so flavorful, it was delicious! Husband had a hamburger poboy and loved it too. We can’t wait to go back and try different items on their menu. I ordered the white chocolate bread pudding to go, and it’s amazing! It’s moist and delicious! Thank you Jailynn and Shelly for making this a great first time experience, can’t wait to go back and try other items!

I’m a truck driver I stopped in and they treated me like Family.. they were actually closed and went out of their way to make sure I had something good to eat when I was out of options for food. Staff was courteous and the pork chop and red beans and rice was delicious … thanks alot

Food was great, even the simple stuff like the tartar sauce was better than most places I've never had. Service was also outstanding. Despite being a little short staffed, food came quick and they checked on us regularly. It's a humble place, but definitely going to come back again to try more items in the menu.

Very good home cooked food with reasonable prices. We got an order of fried okra as an app, some of, if not the best I've ever had. I got the club with fries, it was stuffed with ham and turkey, and the fries were great as well. My wife got the hamburger steak, with mashed potatoes and smothered green beans. It was great as well. We will be back!

Yummy home cooking. Friendly staff. Yuppies should note this is NOT gourmet high cuisine. We had hamburger steak and grilled shrimp salad. Fresh homemade food down to crispy light NOT packaged croutons, salad dressing with tasty shrimp in every bite.

Both me and the wife and family love the food great atmosphere very friendly staff.

Flew in from michigan and our family had dinner here. The food was so good and portions was huge. I had shrimp and fries it was best fried shrimp I ever had .. if your in area this place is the best . The staff was so friendly and the food was amazing

This is the best place in belle chasse to eat maybe best place on west bank... Food is always great the beer is always cold and the staff is always friendly... I would recommend peppers on 23 to anyone lookin for good southern Louisiana cooking at it's best.

Stopped here one evening after looking around at RV spots. The staff was very friendly and Kim our waitress was so sweet to our 3 year old daughter. Food came quickly and drinks were kept full. Portion sizes were large. The Cuban sandwich was fantastic! Will be back again!

Came here once but originally from Texas and I crave the burger patty with mushrooms and onions all the time !! Currently pregnant and I have none stop been craving this !! 7 hours is way to long of a drive . Bring a pepper on 23 to Texas !!

I love this place. The pot roast is my favorite. The people are really nice.

I have Visted this Gem of Belle Chase 4 time and every time I have gone the food and the service has been excellent! The grilled chicken salad with homemade croutons were bomb. I also had the hamburger steak. I will be back soon!

The food is good, certsin dishes are cooked when ordered but worth the wait.

We started off with appetizers: wings and fried okra. The wings were great and the okra was very good. The meal was the fried shrimp with side of mashed potatoes and the 23 platter. All of it was excellent. The fried oysters were huge 😱 the brown gravy on the mashed potatoes was amazing. The staff and the owner were very friendly. Would recommend to anyone.
