Sotto Sopra

Absolutely a place I will be visiting again. The atmosphere was chill, the service was awesome and the food was amazing! I had the mussel and I'm usually an oyster dude, but this dish was amazing! The soup sauce and bread that came along with the dish, by itself is something to enjoy🔥🔥. I went during restaurant week and what was on the menu had plenty of different options, but I want to come back and try their main menu. This place doesn't look like anything from the outside and is super easy to miss, but you should give it a try. Only thing that was a problem for me was the seating. The chair seating was a little uncomfortable after sitting for a while. Other than that this place is awesome.

Wow! Just insane! I ate here last weekend and everything was amazing. I frequent fine dining establishments and I also own a fine dining restaurant. So when I say Sotto Sopra is incredible, I mean it. We started with the mussels and beet and goat cheese salad. The flavors pair so well together and the fried goat cheese took it to the next level. The sauce they make for the mussels should be sold by the quart. It’s that good. They even have delicious mocktails that my daughter loved. We tried the pork ossobuco, Frutti Di Mare, and Gnocchi Di Ricotta for our main courses. All of them were exceptional but the Gnocchi stole the show. For dessert we tried the pistachio tiramisu, crème brûlée, and cheesecake. Don’t skip dessert here. It’s a must. All dishes were beautifully plated and the service was next level. We never wanted for anything. Our drinks were always full. This is a must try! Thanks again for an amazing experience. It’s not just dinner folks. This place gets it all right.

5-star experience all around - food, bar, service, atmosphere all excellent. Scallops risotto and Salmon, highly recommend. Usually not a tiramisu fan, but this stuff was next level good.

Derrick was excellent. Almost tooo good. It's almost like he should be working at the Green room at Dupont or Ruth Christ. Service went far and beyond expectations. Now, the bartender was a different story. I listened to him (Africa american) disparage his own race to a Caucasian female. He checked on every table to ask about their experience except those who had minorities seated. I gave the rating because one bad apple doesn't rotten the whole tree. Everyone else there was awesome and the steak. omg I have no words. Perfection doesn't do it any justice. The ambiance at night gives you life and comfort.

The food and service is amazing. Reasonable pricing too! Very cute date night location.

Elegant and well rounded restaurant in downtown Baltimore. Between the ambiance, staff, and food quality you are going to enjoy a higher end experience. The Italian steakhouse style menu offers great variety and whatever you choose comes out looking delicious. Be sure to ask your server for their recommendations as they are very knowledgeable and care about your experience. In order to find a complaint you’d have to really look.

Have been here twice and both times the food was incredible. Appreciate our server's recommendations as well when I asked about the pumpkin gnocchi v pumpkin rissotto. I had the pumpkin gnocci and would recommend. I would also recommend the pumpkin cake and pistachio creme brulee

We went for restaurant week and it was simply divine. The food and service were both perfection! Interesting flavor combinations and superb recommendations from our host. If you haven't checked this place out, you need too!

This place is amazing. Flawless food. The veal pasta dish was perfectly executed. Pistachio tiramisu incredible. The cozy atmosphere was complimented by super friendly service. Great pre theatre dinner

Food: delicious! I had the gnocchi bolognese and carbonara. Carbonara was very good. Gnocchi was soo tasty. Deserts are also very good

Atmosphere/location: street parking was surprisingly easy to find, and meters stop running after 6pm during the week. Ambiance in the restaurant was perfect. Tall ceilings and wonderfully decorated.

my friend and I came here to catch up before the holiday travel begins, and we had a great time. our food was delicious. i had the seafood squid ink pasta, and she had the same. lol. the drinks were fabulous—thanks to Derrick, our bartender. and the atmosphere was so cute and festive. now, the only thing we didn’t like were the desserts (the pecan gelato and bread pudding) but even with that slight bump in the road to a fabulous meal, i’m still giving them 5 stars ⭐’s!

I came here once for a birthday celebration over a decade ago and was so blown away that it remained in my mind as an elegant, unique and amazing place to visit.

The atmosphere is refined and inviting, the food creative, unique and delicious and the drinks are well crafted and beautifully balanced.

I wish it hadn't taken me so long to come back, but even after all this time, their standard remains the same. I was equally impressed with their food and atmosphere as I was the first time I visited. I will definitely come back more frequently now, though.

Great ambiance and very creative, fresh food. From the bread to dessert and everything in between, this was an amazing experience. The pumpkin ravioli was quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. It sounded OK from the menu description, and our server highly recommended it, so I gave it a shot. Fresh, house made pumpkin ravioli with a pumpkin filling that wasn’t sweet, but had an earthy goodness about it. The light cream sauce served over it with a touch of sweetness, accented the perfectly cooked broken sausage which was incredibly fresh and tasty. It was a perfect balance of sweet and savory, and was one of, if not the best things I’ve ever eaten! If not for living around 1,000 miles away, I’d be back to enjoy this dish again tonight!

I first went to Sotto Sopra over twenty years ago. The restaurant has never disappointed me and always exceeded expectations. The food, service, and wine are always amazing. Tonight, they truly outdid themselves. After an incredible meal and outstanding service from our waiter, Yusef, we left feeling more than satisfied. About an hour later, as I was waiting to catch my train back to Philadelphia, I realized I left my cap at the restaurant. Normally it would not have been such a big deal but the cap was a gift and had sentimental value. Also I was headed back home to Spain and thought the cap was gone for good. I immediately called the restaurant. José, the manager, had the cap and remembered me. He agreed to meet me halfway to bring it in time for me to catch my train. When I met up with him, he then drove me to the station.
This was an example of going above and beyond the call of duty. José emphasized what I have noticed in all the employees of the restaurant, a commitment to customers. José and Yusef should be commended for their hard work. Thanks again, especially to José for his efforts.

Great spot for homemade pasta...meatballs were made of lamb and were a nice change of pace...good sauce...service was great!

10/10. Our food, waiter, and the ambiance were all AMAZING. They were flexible and accommodating in combining dishes to create the most amazing, flavorful seafood dish. The highlight of our evening was our server - Lindsey…. She was attentive, knowledgeable and extremely pleasant. Will definitely return!

Incredible ambiance, decor, food and service. Our server William H. Was very attentive and knowledgeable, and could provide intimate details on how each dish was prepared. They allow half portions of the pastas which make the dinner a bit more reasonably priced. We had the Caprese Salad, Goat Cheese Salad, Rabbit Ragu, Ricotta Gnocchi, and Pumpkin Ravioli—ALL were excellent. Cocktail was great too. Cannot wait to come again.

Really cool place with high ceilings, and lots of mirrors blended with atmospheric wall murals. Lighting is romantic but the electronic music is an odd choice. Not bad. Just odd. Food was fantastic. We got the restaurant week and everything was prepared to order and flavored perfectly. Server was attentive and helpful

Everything tastes very authentic and fresh. Service is always great! Great spot for a date night or girls night out!
