Sapphire Restaurant & Sports Bar

Celebrated my daughter birthday, she chose Sapphire as her dinner preference, on our 2nd visit. The food and service were fantastic; they gave her a birthday dessert which she loved. My oldest enjoyed her Thai Fried Rice Shrimp, I received the Tandoori Mix Grill, Birthday girl enjoyed her Shrimp Curry, wife loved the Chix Tikka Masala, rice and Naan/Garlic Naan was tasty, my takeout Panang Curry Chicken was excellent (Red curry, lime leaves, coconut milk & peanut w/crispy steamed broccoli).

After the movies, my sister and I started the new year off right with a very tasty dinner at Sapphire. The papadums were light and crispy, the naan was delicious and the paneer palek, chili paneer, fish vindaloo and lamb with mushrooms were all perfectly spiced and balanced. Would highly recommend for the wonderful food and service.

This place has very good food. Some of the tastiest Indian food I have had in the DMV. The cheese naan bread is great! Their cocktail menu provides something for everyone.

Awesome place this place have best pizza I have tasted. To say the least Sapphires restaurant has it all and the prices are reasonable.

Excellent service. Fantastic food both Indian and Thai. Very authentic as well. Spicy just like I asked. Hole in the wall place but nicely surprised.

Indian food is my guilty please and Sapphires has it! Authentic Indian food atmosphere is a little on the aged side but the food is amazing!!! The service is kind and attentive. I have never had even 1 dish here that I didn’t love. It’s a twice a week spot for me because they do a buffet style service during limited hours but it’s so worth getting there at those times. The only problem you’ll have here is getting yourself to stop eating

Wow 🤩 this place truly lived up to their photos! I would always pass this after church and I wanted to go for the longest. I went to eat inside the restaurant and the hospitality AMAZINGGGGGG! I love the atmosphere and the television playing Hindu music 🎼. It helped to enhance the experience of eating there! First, as my appetizer they brought me out “PAPADUMS” which I was very pleased with because it was my first time trying it and it was delicious and made out of all Whole Foods which I am a fan of health eats ! I ordered the Butter Chicken, with basmati rice and Chicken Biryani and let me tell you it was to EXCELLENT! I ordered the Butter chicken with no spice and mild Biryani and I was so pleased. The chicken biryani was a HUGE serving so I was able to take the rest home to share with my Husband who also agreed to the deliciousness of the food. I even have enough to eat leftovers too! This place is a GEM and I highly recommend it. I hope to come here with my Church or even with more family and friends to enjoy more of their great hospitality, food and atmosphere . Thank you again for treating me like a Queen.. I had a rough day at work and then had another event to go to so this really lifted up my spirits ! I highly recommend this place !

Very delicious! Indian pizza is awesome!! Very good vibe and entertaining Bollywood music videos(never knew that stuff was so entertaining lmao). Server had a great sense of humor. I recommend coming with an empty stomach.

I have enjoyed the extensive buffet for many years and it never disappoints. The dishes are well prepared, hot, and with a good variety of textures and flavors. Over the past months, the service has slipped dramatically -- though it is not too big a deal if one is only enjoying the buffet. We really, really miss Pablo.

Love the Thai fried rice and I get the option to not make it super hot which is great! The food is great, staff is super friendly. The lunch buffet is pretty good and there are great vegetarian options. Plus if you go on the bar side it's like the Laurel Cheers. :-)

My experience was phenomenal!! I wish I could give them 6 stars. When I called staff was courteous and answered all of my questions. I went in and they made me feel like family. The chef made me a customized meal, which was nothing short of delicious! I will definitively return.

Hands down the best Indian/Thai joint in the Bowie/Laurel area! I’m a hot & spicy connoisseur, and the Vindaloo was dangerously hot. Got some great Thai tea recipe tips from the owner as well 👍

This is a completely underrated restaurant. I absolutely love going here when they have the dinner buffet going or just normally any time. The food is amazing, the staff is very pleasant, and it is never crowded. These guys deserve way more business than they get.

Hands down the BEST Indian food and Thai I've ever had. I used to live locally and frequent here for my favorites chicken Tika masala, Naan, and shrimp pad Thai. I since moved to Glen Burnie and haven't found anywhere that compares. After trying soooo many places and being disappointed, I make the semi long drive to Sapphires! It's just so worth it.

We would always come here for the buffet lunch from work when I lived in Maryland.

I have not been able to get some things (like the mixed vegetable pakora or my goodness the desserts!) either as good or anywhere else.

Please tell me what the green dip/chutney you have is? Mint coriander? It was slightly spicy. It appears in photos on google but I looked at all of your menus and it didn’t seem to be listed anywhere. That stuff is so awesome. It’s good on everything. What is it?

Outstanding Catered Lunch

I hired Sapphire Restaurant and Lounge to cater lunch, on site, at a working meeting today. There were 21 guests, and all were delighted with the meal! Arun, the owner, personally delivered the meal to our site within minutes of the agreed upon time. He took special care to ensure that everything would arrive hot and fresh. The taste was superb (every bit as good as in the restaurant), and for the agreed $20 per person, there was enough food to feed 40 people well. Sapphire Restaurant and Lounge did a superb job catering our working lunch meeting. We will definitely be keeping them in mind for the future.

Delicious food, great service. My family frequents this restaurant for events and gatherings and they are always gracious in hosting us. The food is fresh and reasonably priced. The buffet is fantastic, there’s something there for everyone. The children and adults love it the same

I love going to Sapphire and bringing friends. It's such a cool experience to be able to sit in a sports bar and order traditional American fare, Thai, and Indian cuisine. It really works out great when your friends have different tastes in food than you do or if you want a really diverse meal.

Mellisa (one of the couple of bartenders) is always very friendly and making us feel welcome.

I stumbled upon the Sports Bar via a happy hour app that I had downloaded. The first time I went, the bar was pretty empty and the drinks were pretty cheap. I was glad that I had found this hidden gem. I decided to have a 90s themed happy hour event there and it was the perfect venue. It wasn't overly crowded, the bartenders were very personable and accommodating, and it was a fun environment where the bartenders know everyone's name. On top of that, the mango margaritas were pretty good.

Not sure why they have bad reviews.... ordered some of their indian food on a Friday night at around 12am, they sent me a text to let me know when it would be ready. The food tasted delicious! Chicken Tikka masala, paneer masala, raita, and garlic Naan. Everythinv was fresh and ready at the time they said! Even though they were crazy busy inside (the bar), they were quick! Very impressed and happy to have a late night option for food! Thank you all!
