It's called an interactive art museum because it has lots of artwork (and many random toys) that guests can touch and play with. This place is great for imaginative/play pretend games because it has varied props and settings, such castles, tea parties, and mini forests. It even has a stage with musical instruments for kids to create their own shows.

Important things to keep in mind before you visit:
- Each visitor older than 2 y.o. has to pay an entrance fee ($10.) You may be able to get cheaper tickets in Groupon.
- It's less crowded in the morning (10am-12pm) than in the afternoon
- Dress your child in comfy clothes and shoes so that they can walk around the museum, jump on the big bed (no shoes allowed on the bed), and paint some artwork or the unicorn's nails.
- You may be able to reserve parts of the place for birthday parties.

We recently had my son's 4th birthday party here, and I got compliments from all the parents about how awesome the space was. Both parents and kids had a ton of fun engaging in creative, imaginative play. Even better - you won't need to buy any party decorations because the space itself looks so cool already!

We had my daughter's birthday party at DoodleHATCH and had a WONDERFUL experience. This place is fun & so interesting! There were so many things for the kids to play with & look at. Definitely an artists wonderland! We had the venue ALL to ourselves! They had a fridge to store our cold foods and microwave if heating was needed. We were able to make a date change for the party d/t bad weather on the scheduled day without issues/extra fees. Lilou was SO nice & accommodating- they allowed us to stay an extra hour after closing for the party. Definitely recommend this place to others to have a kid's party here (not just for girls!)!!!

Awesome place for both kids and adults! This department store for intergalactic travelers is unique, weird, and oh-so-wonderful... A true hidden gem! Where else can you take a nap in a giant's bed, dress up like a lobster and dance on stage, learn hieroglyphics, read a 1930s edition of Better Homes & Garden AND give a unicorn a manicure?

Trick question.. There is nowhere else!

Took daughter and her friends for her birthday and they had a blast. It can be confusing to know what you can and cannot touch though. I would say 10 year old is max age and more so for smaller kids. The artwork was amazing. You can buy some of the work too. It definitely is a hidden gem and great place to visit on a rainy day.

We had so much fun! We added this place of wonder to our adventure itinerary and it was an awesome addition. We even got to help work on an installation piece Lee was creating for the WorldBank.

A fun and quirky place to hang out with our granddaughter. The staff member was friendly and helpful. Plenty of interesting, handmade creations to admire.

This was wonky and wonderful. Our daughter LOVED this place. It is super eclectic and NOT polished at all, but if you want a unique experience (probably best under 10ish) in a location you wouldn't expect - we'd highly recommend. Also - kudos to the front desk Art Education major from UMD that made it just a fun time for our daughter.

Had a wonderful time celebrating my daughter’s Birthday at DoodleHATCH with our family and friends. What an imaginative, creative, and immersive experience! LiLou led the children through fun pumpkin crafts, Cathy was so welcoming, and the rest of the staff made the event memorable and fun. Thank you!

Photos don't do this exhibit justice because you need to see this place through your children's eyes. This huge space is packed with so many nooks and crannies to explore. My boys especially loved the rocketship display, complete with seats for passengers on your space adventure. They also loved the large road exhibit complete with toy cars and other treasures to make a vehicle adventure. There was a green climbable mountain of stuffed animals (mostly teddy bears). A beach with a baby shark head. A tea party with beautiful play cakes. A giant bed to climb around on. A bunch of delightful toys scattered about (like a kid-sized keyboard, or a unicorn wand).

Staff were great and make sure everyone wears gloves and masks (and disposable gloves are included if you don't bring your own). It's a large space. Felt very safe. My boys already want to go back!

The kids had a good time. It's big but small at same time however they have so many activities to do, they didn't get bored at all.

A very hands on exhibit that allows kids to be creative. Whether doodling with crayons, markers, or chalk or wearing costumes to re-enact your own play, there's something to do and something to explore. I'd expect to spend about an hour here. Oh can't forget about the giant sized bed with a huge teddy bear on it that kids can actually jump on!

I was there for a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Beforehand I got to walk around the building and it was amazing! Very creative and hands on for the most part!

I brought my grandgirls here to enjoy all the wonder this place has to offer. I found another adult to play tea party with and the kids quickly followed with English accents, wearing silly hats and costumes. Some were coloring. Some were playing in their band on stage. We had a blast. Even my own creativity was showing and it felt good This is a place is a place where adults and children can either enjoy their time separately or together. Keep in mind there are some fragile items the kids can play with. Just be respectful. Thanks Lilou for the invite!!!! We are telling our friends and family. I've even referred you to my boss and co-workers. Have a wonderful day!!

We had a wonderful magical experience! Great for all ages! Everything there is very creative and just really pretty! Most of the things there are made out of household items. One of the mannequins glasses are made out of spoons and forks! The children are allowed to touch everything. There are carousel ponies that you can sit on and move around. The kids can help paint a mural that will be in the front of the building. Kids 7 and under can paint a cardboard building inside. In the building there are 120 teddy bears that are hidden. Overall the entire place is like a wonderland! We had a lot of fun. I recommend coming there

The Doodle Hatch has this really great mural on the outside. Wonderful for getting some #streetart photos.

This is a great place for younger children 2-6 to explore. It's like walking into a backstage of a theater where everything is touchable. My kids loved the giant bed and the cars section. They take good covid-19 precautions and group time entry. If you see this through the eyes of your children then you will appreciate it. The mural out front is really amazing.
