This is a great place, and a short little workout. I wish the trails were longer, but other than that it is very scenic because it overlooks Bogue Sound, and within the forest there are a little creeks and ponds. Shorty likes it too. Great place to take your dog

Nice little place to take in some island nature or play a little frisbee golf in the woods. Kayak launch at the end of the little pier looks very visitor friendly. There are restrooms at the trailhead and a handicapped drop-off at the end of the access road. The wooden walking ramp seems very well maintained. Parking near the end of the access road on the right.

Beautiful secluded area of one of my favorite coastal towns. There's frisbee golf and walking paths that are surrounded by pines, Spanish moss and wildlife. The paths are sandy and the ground was a bit loose so I don't recommend it for the elderly or those that have a hard time getting around. Some of it is uphill (slightly), but if you're in the mood to do a little exploring it's totally worth it. On my walk I found a Legless Lizard, a few deer, a box turtle and more turtles, dragonflies, butterflies and squirrels than I cared to count. There's also a restroom right in the center of it all.

This is my absolute favorite little hidden secret on the island. It's never crowded and always beautiful. I love taking my dog on walks, here, as well as walking out onto the dock and looking over the ICW. Definitely a well kept space for locals and tourists alike. If you're visiting the area and want a quiet, well shaded place to take a small, easy-level "hike" this is the place to do it! Pretty spacious parking available, too, as well as a really decent public restroom house with some picnic tables outside (right at the trailhead). You WILL run into deer, here, so be careful during rutting season! And, of course, it is a swampy area on an island with snakes, bugs and birds so be careful in general. Bring your bug spray! Edit: if you're looking through reviews with photos, the cool steps that went directly into the water of the dock are no more. Those were there years ago, but the dock has since been rebuilt (and is very nice!), and now instead has a ramp that goes down onto a floating dock, too!

I love it here! It's so peaceful and there is so much wildlife to enjoy. And the bathroom is always clean.

We went magnet fishing and had a great time. Didn't catch anything, so that tells you the water 💦 is clean.

A small but beautiful area near the westernmost end of The Crystal Coast where you can wander through a forest, salt marsh swamp area and sandy high hill area to see the beauty of the Emerald Isle bridge rise over the salt marshes connecting the island to the mainland.

This is a beautiful little trail. Lots of great terrain and wildlife. So glad we found this little gem. Also a disk golf course, if you are into that sort of thing.

This is a lovely small wooded park in Emerald Isle, just off Coast Guard Rd, filled with interesting trails, a disc golf course, and a canoe/kayak access. The park is open sunrise to sunset and the trails are in fairly good shape...with a few muddy spots. There are restrooms at the end of the road and ample parking. Although the trails are marked, the markings remain a bit mysterious, so plan on extra time to wander around to familiarize yourself. Definitely worth visiting if you are looking for a walk in the woods!

Great place for walking. Some terrain is a little hilly and there are steps at some bridges. There are good restrooms. Good place for dog walking and geocaching.

Really nice park. A hillier running alternative to the very flat bike path. If you are running through here be on the lookout for spider webs (learned that one the hard way.) Great place for a picnic... there is a pier with sound access and a small pavilion. If you are here alone, be cautious—the parking lot is relatively far from the road and it’s rarely busy here in the mornings. I’ve had some shared concerns about safety in the past.

Emerald isle woods park is always a great little hike. There are a good number of paths to take, some even go through lowland swamps, and a lot to see in this little park. A good amount of wildlife and wildflowers can be seen here depending on the time of year, weather, and how many people are in the park. It is also a nice way to spend part of the day if you need a bit of shade from beach! We walk the trails just about everytime we visit emerald isle and always see something new.

I love this place! The paths are clear, the docks are fun to walk on, and you can see some really cool mushrooms and pinecones! All you gotta watch out for is the random snapping turtles and heavy wind lol. Very fun walk.

This review is for the Disc Golf course. Excellent short course with lots of challenging shots. Bring your strategies for this epic beach dune course. Definitely a favorite for ENC. A plus is Growler beers is beside the roundabout just down the road!

I've been coming here for a few years for short hikes and disc golf. I frequently see wildlife and rarely see litter. I try to come at least once every time I'm in town. Hoping to make par on #4 one of these days.

Nice place to walk or run. The trail design makes great use of the available space and provides a surprising amount of elevation change for the beach. Two piers provide access to the sound.

Nice wooded sound-side park with disc golf course and hiking paths. A small boardwalk and fishing dock on the sound. Hiking trails have lots of ankle-twister roots so be careful!

Lovely outdoor space. Super impressed by the disc golf course. While I enjoyed the unique space, I liked that the signage was easy to follow, and the course is well maintained due to the fact that each hole has a local sponsor. The sign is always on the left and there is a hook to hang your bag.

Nice hiking trail down to a pier at the sound. Pretty wooded area with small hills. Lots of birds and wildlife, including deer. In summer, it will be hotter than on the beach, because it's not as windy, and can be buggy in summer.

Beautiful short loop trail through the woods, passing the 2 docks on the water. Lots of nature and birds. Some ups & downs on small hills covered in roots.
