Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort

We love coming here and hanging out while riding the Dragon. This is an awesome atmosphere to be around with lots of fun things to look at. The general store has lots of great merchandise to buy and the food was decent too!

The staff made an oversight in my stay, however Jud Merrell not only took care of my stay, but went beyond what he should have done to make it right. On top of that the front splitter on my car was loose, and he helped me attach it. Will stay in the future! Best location for the dragon!

Awesome place to stay if you want to ride the dragon or the many other great roads. Literally make a right-hand turn out of the parking lot, and you are on the dragon. Gift shop with some gear if you need it. Overall incredible service and friendly.

Deals Gap resort is a great spot. Couldn't be in a better location. Good spot to buy souvenirs. They have tons of t-shirts as well. Not to mention it's a great spot to watch all the cars and bikes go by. Don't forget to check out the tree of shame. Very reasonable rates for rooms. My room was clean and service was great. I will be back for sure.

Great place to stop when riding Highway 129 at the Dragon. Basically everything you need when in the area; hotel, fuel, restaurant, restrooms, souvenirs, drinks and snacks and more. And if you crash on the Dragon tail, you're welcome to add your damaged auto parts to the Tree of Shame which is definitely something to check out. Also there are several photos ops if interested with the Deals Gap sign or several dragons located around the resort.

Affordable tent camping, but on a first -come, first-serve basis. Their convenience store is nice, and the premium grade gasoline is barely even marked up. Small shower stalls are wonderful, especially if you enjoy the drive in summer with no AC(to free up a couple HP, naturally)--or if you ride in full protective gear which I highly recommend, as there is a sign warning motorcycles of higher likelihood. And the attached restaurant smells AMAZING!

Let's get something straight from the start. This is not the Ritz. This review is about Deals Gap and who it is intended to serve. Deals Gap offers an amazing experience right at the very start of the Tail of the Dragon. You can't get a better location. Period. The office has had snacks, soft drinks and beer, and a good selection of souvenirs. The attached restaurant has a good basic menu. Larger rooms are bunkhouse style, accommodate upto 6 guests and are clean and private, not fancy. There is a fire pit, and grills are available for guests to use. Cell phone reception is poor and the Wi-Fi is just OK. Motorcycles come in and out throughout the day and early evening because this is a great stop for people riding the Tail of the Dragon. Which is the point. If you come here for anything else you are missing out. This is a motorcycle resort and one of the best experiences I have had on two wheels in a long time. So, ride the dragon, grab a burger and six pack, a patch and a T-shirt. Talk to other bikers, look at some stars and enjoy the ride. If you are here because you want someone to bring your bags to your room, you've lost your mind. If you want great roads, good people and bucket list level experience, this is your place. I will be back.

A great place to visit after a great ride on a winding road. Food is excellent and people are very friendly and helpful. A wide variety of souvenirs.

I enjoyed staying here during my last two trips to the Dragon. I felt safe & the rooms were perfectly clean. The only real issue in staying here is that the walls are paper thin so you can actually hear other people talk & snore. Since there is no cell service on the Dragon I would highly recommend staying here so that you can tell someone you are going on a run & when you expect to be back. This is especially true if you go on runs during the dark.

I didn't stay here so I can't speak on the rooms. The prices of the shirts didn't seem to change nin after covid. Great place to stop and rest fir the next road.

It is not fancy but it is clean, affordable and exactly where you need it, the bottom of the Dragon. They even have hooks for helmets and gear. Good water pressure in the shower. If you are looking for fancy go somewhere else. If you are there to ride you should definitely stay here. Hang out at the big firepit and share some stories with like minded people, make some new friends. Highly recommend this place if you love riding motorcycles.

Great place to call home base if you are touring the area. Rooms were clean, food was good and they even have a place to clean or service the bike.

Always enjoy stopping here while down in NC riding. We usually stay a little farther away from the tail of the dragon but we make sure we stop and get something from the store and fill up while there.

Beware no phone service no matter what carrier you have, but wow, what a great place to stay. All kinds of bikers getting together and riding. Great food at the gas station/restaurant. They have alot of nice biker gear as well.

What an experience! Went down with my nephew and we took turns driving. We didn't stay in the rooms or eat there so I can't tell you about that. I'd totally do it all again! Beware of the speed traps - must be a booming business......

Great place to stay makes enjoying the dragon that much easier. WiFi is good enough to get the job done. The bathrooms are clean, water pressure is strong. Firewood for the fire pit on site. This place rocks.

Would love to plan earlier and stay here someday. This was just a pit stop before driving Route 129 and get a been there done that tshirt. Cool place to see awesome bikes and cars.

this place is awesome. it’s super affordable.
not only that, but for the price, i didn’t expect to have a coffee maker with coffee, towels & toiletries to be supplied, but they’re here! check in was easy & the location is unbeatable, if you’re here to ride.

Just a visit. No overnight stays. It's a tourist attraction. Cool place.
