Gaffer's

We ate lunch here and we’re pleased with the service and food. We got shrimp AND calamari as appetizers. And, a cheeseburger and seafood platter as our entrees. Everything was great with hefty portions to where we had plenty leftover to bring home. Waitress was nice and helpful, too. Outdoor dining was nice for this time of year.

We come to Emerald Isle every year but this was our first time trying Gaffers! The food was delicious and portion sizes were massive. I got a Cajun chicken biscuit bigger than my head. Very reasonable prices too! Also our server was super sweet. :)

We sat on the patio where they had heaters, which was perfect. Live music was a bonus for the atmosphere. Great food for both adults and kids. Highly recommend this place.

Great spot for a relaxed lunch. We were skeptical at first because there were many open tables but they gave us a 45 min wait, but said we could try the bar. We did, and it was fine. Tasty Bloody Mary (they use zing zang) and great sandwiches. I got their mahi sandwich and my friend got a chicken sandwich, both very good. Prices aren’t too shabby for an island bar. Decor is fun and not over the top kitschy. The bartender was super nice and though we could tell she was busy and busting her butt, she still was very kind. Only potential issue for some was the time it took to get food, pretty slow..

This was my second visit and the food was absolutely delicious both times. Get the nachos. They're not what you expect, and that's a great thing.

Me and my girlfriend ate here and we absolutely loved it. Very good food and very enjoyable. In the pictures are the NC Crab Dip and the Lobster stuffed Mahi Mahi. Highly recommend to any tourist or native. They have a wide array of various items on their menu. It's not the basic items you see everywhere else. Absolutely incredible. As far as service we were sitting at a table near the bar and the waitress was taking orders, bartending, and taking some of the dining orders. I give her a lot of credit. We weren't checked on a whole bunch and that's okay. She was working for at least what 2 or 3 people should be doing. Very nice and remembered our orders by memory. The presentation of the food was really good as well. A little pricey for your average person but for the quality of the food and being seafood its not bad. We also got the wings which were comparable to the quality of wings we have up in New York. Juicy, fall off the bone and their sauces were really good as well. Highly recommend. Check it out. You won't regret it.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, and Kayla was a great server! I had the parmesan mahi mahi, because it sounded interesting. Soo good!

We had a wonderful experience today for a late lunch after hiking! We were seated right away on the dog friendly outer patio, offered water bowl for pup, and the service was on point! My wife ordered the fried mahi sandwich (huge) and I opted for the shrimp blt. We both loved them and the fries were seasoned to perfection as well. I started with the ocracoke style clam chowder but I think I’m just used to a New England style, it was good just not my favorite. Overall a very enjoyable meal here!

First time being here. Loved it!! The hostess, , busboys were extremely friendly. The food was to die for. Very good experience all the way around. Shout out to Kayla for amazing service. Thank you!!

Had a great time here! The host gave me a hard time as soon as I walked through the door (in a good way). The food was great! They have house made ranch, which is a actually hard to find. I had the fish tacos and they were great, others in our group got a variety of dishes and all were very pleased with their meals. Thanks for a great time!

Highly recommended! Delicious food, amazing customer service. My husband absolutely loved his lobster, he said it was the best he’s had. My burger was very delicious too, and my son loved his grilled cheese sandwich. The desserts were amazing, the creme brûlée was yummy! We had a wonderful time, we will be visiting again soon. 👍🏻

Ben was our server and he was attentive and excellent, predicting any need. The hostess was really sweet and on point as well! They were very kind to our doggies as we sat outside on the patio, which can accommodate a lot of people! No being crammed in here. We had margaritas, hush puppies, shrimp nachos (sounded weird but were AMAZING) and fish tacos w street corn. Everything was seriously amazing! I’ve told all my family to come here while they visit. Small kids have a nice area to play outside and a outside bar so parents can relax and play too. My only regret is finding this place the last night we are here. I would of come multiple times this week!

We had a nice, relaxing dinner with amazing Beer Can Shrimp (pictured), yummy Hush Puppies, and the best Shrimp & Grits with kielbasa! You can’t miss with their menu.

We had a blast on a Saturday night with live music, great food and excellent service!
It has a wonderful inside and outside dining and bar area to suit everyone. Food can be a plate of handheld.
The shrimp nachos were a highlight for us! The draft beer was NC craft and nice a cold in a frosty pint glass. Very refreshing!
Liz waited on our table and she was very helpful in menu selection, paced dinner perfectly so we had time to chat, and she was busy so we appreciate her kindness .
If you are at EI with a group or a small party of 3 make this a stop for your trip.

Service was very good, excellent homemade biscuits and Bloody Mary comes with bacon.
Ideal time to come at 11:20 am you can order breakfast or appetizers after 11:30 am.
Pet lovers, they offered water for our dogs.

Words cannot honestly describe how great my experience was at this restaurant, both times.

Their food, quality, costumer service, and freshness is by far the best I've had out of the countless restaurants on emerald isle, their prices are extremely fair since you get such large portions. (you could easily split 70% of the menu items with 2 people!)

I loved the outdoor seating, there's a good airflow and we didn't experience any insects, not even flies!

By far, this is the best restaurant I've eaten at in emerald isle, they have the best shrimp and grits I've ever had, and their breakfast is also absolutely incredible!
I highly suggest their loaded home fries!

Wow this place was amazing once we got inside. The hostess was a little unhelpful after telling us it was and hour and half wait we figured out we could sit in the bar. The food was fabulous and the bartenders (especially Gus) were so nice! Will definitely be back.

Excellent service & delicious food! It looked super crowded from the street but the service was quick. Portion sizes were fantastic! Would definitely recommend & plan to eat here again next time we're in Emerald Isle.

Thursday is prime rib night and you get a 12 or 16 oz piece of meat with green beans and a potato or rice. If you're watching carbs, you can substitute fresh fruit for the potato, which I've never seen before, but being borderline type 2 diabetic, I went for it. Service is friendly and they have lots of outside seating if the weather is nice.
