Pomaria Trailhead Palmetto Trail

I run with my dog out on this trail all the time. It's amazing for training too. The trail is wide enough to pass cyclists and other dogs without interference, if you just wanna keep going. I've been using it to train my girl for canicross. And plan to train her, and I, to bikejor. 😁

This trail head is technically the middle point of the Peak to Prosperity trail. So it's pretty much an out and back. You hike/run/bike as far as you want and turn around. But it technically is a point to point trail, since it's part of the Palmetto Trail.

Great halfway point between Hope Station and mile 9. Everyone we encountered on the trail and waypoints was very friendly. I thought this leg was very scenic and relaxing for a good hike. There is a trash receptacle at the Pomaria Trailhead and a grocery shop (Wilson's). Camping spots are nice too.

There is ample parking in the grass. The trail is flat both directions. The scenery is beautiful!

One of my favorite places to run trails in the Midlands! Just far enough from Columbia to feel like you actually got out of town for a while 😊

I love this nearby trail and campsite, but not too near, where I can load up the pack real quick and head out for a overnight.

Excellent place to take dogs for a walk. The location of parking can be misleading( no signs directing you towards the parking) The trails are relaxing and very enjoyable! Gas station and a Dollar General located within 3-5mins of trailhead entrance.

Love this trail. Very flat, great for hiking and running. Only down part is the spider webs😖

Neat trail. Nice and flat. Fairly well maintained, just be careful on a few of the bridges there are holes and some rot that may possibly be a moderate safety risk. Overall pretty nice hike.

We did two miles out and two miles back. Easy walk, very nice day
