In my opinion this place cannot be beat! I’m on a special diet that most chefs cringe when I tell them —- vegan, no oil, no fat! Chef Andy spoke with me on the phone about an hour before we arrived. Plus he came out to meet me when we arrived and clarified the specifics of the order that he would prepare. He had the best ideas! And he really follow through! He even presented it beautifully! Plus our service by Amanda was unbeatable! The eggs Benedict are amazing and so are the pancakes eggs and sausage…The vegetarian omelette also was a hit. Everything we had and the service was exceptional and honestly… I am a restaurant snob and it’s been very tough on this diet! We will return again and again!!!

100/10 recommend! We ate here after a long hike at Ramiers State Park, and the food hit the spot! The fried pickles had the perfect crunch. They were the best fried pickles I’ve ever had. They have a full bar and great cocktails, especially the Texas martini margarita. All the sandwiches were HUGE and so delicious and rich. As a bonus, Hooper’s is a popular destination for horror fans because Texas Chainsaw Massacre was filmed there. Whether you’re a local, a hiker, or a horror fan, make sure you step inside and try the food!

Hooper's is located on King Ct off RM 1431 in Kingsland, which took me a little over an hour's drive from Austin.

After watching the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie and playing the TCM game, this was a place we definitely wanted to check out in person. Although the location of the building has been moved from the filming location, the building is still the same. They've done a great job cleaning up the place after the Sawyers left!

There's four main indoor eating areas with one being the bar area as well as an outdoor patio area. The bar and host counter are the only areas that have movie memorabilia, with the bar having the most items.

Hooper's has a pretty good menu selection with breakfast, lunch, and dinner items as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and the food is really good!

The entire staff was very friendly and patient while we looked around to take it all in.

Although it's about an hour drive from Austin, it's definitely worth the trip for the memorabilia and food!

Soo glad we made a trip to Hooper's to see the TCM house.

I posted a review 6 months ago about their shrimp and grits and it was less than stellar. Now I’m posting a review about not only the same dish but vastly improved, but also just an overwhelmingly great experience. My family and I had lunch here today while sitting outside on their patio and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food as well as the experience. My wife ordered the shrimp and grits, a dish that had let us down previously, but this time it was absolutely perfect. Wonderful shrimp, perfectly seasoned on a bed of jalapeño grits. Outstanding job Hoopers, I’m so happy to see the trajectory of this place!

Me and my girlfriend came here to eat for a date night and we did a walk in but reservation is optional. We both got the blackened steak medium rare that came with grilled zucchini and mashed potatoes and amazing butter on top of the steak definitely a must visit place very family friendly with full bar and lots of history on the house I highly recommend

Food was outstanding!
Service was also great.
We came in at 2pm when they are supposed to be shutting down the dinning area and they were nice enough to allow us to sit in the front room. Mind you this was father's day and they were slammed all day. I know our waitress was tired but she still gave us great service!
The renovations of the house is beautiful and it was very cool to sit and eat in that front room. Will definitely be back! Thank you Hooper's for accommodating and helping us give my father-in-law a wonderful father's day lunch!

Our family had a great time enjoying our food. The server was great and we got our food right away. Enjoyed the F1 race on TV at the bar area and all the pictures from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I had the migas tacos, my husband had steak and eggs, my kids had pancakes and french toast.

Super friendly staff and delicious food! Do yourself a favor and order a freshly made blueberry muffin, you will not regret it!! They have a full menu and a stocked bar as well. Admittedly, I visited because it is the original house from the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre film...BUT, Hooper's was a very welcomed bonus to this stop! The young lady serving us was incredibly nice and welcoming. After breakfast, we were able to walk around and take pictures. This is a stop any true fan of the TCM must make!! Before arriving, the Hooper's staff answered every question I had via email. I'd definitely recommend Hooper's for a great place to eat!!

We stumbled upon this great cafe, not knowing it was the original house for the Texas chainsaw massacre. Pretty cool and the staff was GREAT. Very friendly.

The food itself was great too. Very large portions. The omelet and pancakes were HUGE! But very tasty. The eggs Benedict was very yummy as well. Glad we stumbled in and will certainly be finding our way back next time we’re in town.

We have been here several times for breakfast and it was always great. This time we had lunch and they didn’t disappoint. Chicken fried steak. Turkey club. Sweet potato hash.

Fun Experience!

I went for my birthday week She because I love horror movies. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but it really blew my mind. I was greeted by a lovely lady at the front who took my name down to later seat me and my party of 3. The wait was only about 25 minutes, and within that time we explored the upstairs. There was a bar up there as well as on the first floor, but it wasn’t being used. Next we were seated and immediately asked for our choice of drink, I picked apple juice. She handed us our menu and we ordered. It wasn’t a long wait for the food, and it came out fresh and hot. It was good, but a lot for me. After eating, we decided to venture off and explore the area. First we stumbled upon a what we think is bed and breakfast, then when walking further more we found a beautiful lake! There is private residents bear by so be cautious of that. We stayed over there for about 10-15 minutes to admire the scenery then walked back. We went to the Antlers Inn to check that out, pretty cool but not much if you aren’t a guest staying there. We went back to the cafe to buy shirts then headed home! It was a cool experience and anyone who enjoys southern meals and the comfort of family should go!

The food was incredible. The steak was so tender. The wings were so flavorful. The staff was very friendly and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was the creepy feeling we were looking for near Halloween. LOVED IT HERE...very busy, there was a 45 minute wait but worth waiting for.

Wonderful experience! I had the 10 oz NY strip steak. It was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My partner had the butterflied fried shrimp which were also tasty. The fried jalapenos appetizer was just about the best I've ever had anywhere! Their specialty drinks are delicious; I particularly liked the Trainwreck (their version of a Long Island Tea). For desert we tried the Brownie Mascarpone and Bread Pudding. I didn't care for the bread pudding - it was rather dry, but I recommend the Brownie. It's full of flavor and not excessively sweet. Our visit was for a company holiday party so I can't rightly comment on all aspects, but the ambience seemed cool, the servers for our group were excellent, and we are looking forward to going again soon on our own. It really is a great place!!

Swung in for lunch on a Sunday. The bar section is open with the full menu. Staff was great. I really enjoyed my burger. Can't wait to come back.

Went here for lunch. Short wait for a big table but the place is understaffed for sure. The poor ladies were running hard! Food took a while but we were a party of 8. Had the smash burger and it was great! She talked me into a double meat but I really didn’t need it as the Pattie’s are not a true “smash burger”. Either way it was delicious.

My wife had the chicken sandwich and it was also really good.

The fries were really good and well cooked and crispy.

This was one of the highlights of a recent vacation. Getting to go inside the house where The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was filmed was surreal. On top of that, the food and service were top notch.
