Rao's Bakery Coffee cafe

First Timer❤Very impressed ❤ Reminds me of the bakery/cafe’s in Quebec! Great setup and variety of items….chose the giant cream cheese blueberry muffins and some Italian cream ice cream 🤘

I have recently moved to this area and told my daughter I wanted to try this bakery for her birthday.
A very nice atmosphere greeted us as soon as we walked in. Amazing display and choices of in-house fresh Gelato, and the baked display was looking amazing.
I choose the mini strawberry cheesecake and the blueberry bran muffin.
The cheesecake was light and airy made New York style with no crust but surprisingly with a bit of sweet mascarpone cheese on the bottom and center of the cheesecake very nice touch!! Homemade whipped cream counters the mascarpone/cheesecake beautifully strawberries were sweet fresh and crisp.
The blueberry bran muffin is a difficult one as the bran can be either gritty or dry.
This muffin was the best I've had. I ate half that day and the rest in the morning. It was still moist not gritty at all and they did not skimp on blueberries.
Service was good, they answered all questions with a smile, patient with us first-timers. overall a very good experience.

A huge choices of pastry, dessert and latte as well as ice cream and birthday cake. Have place to sit and atmosphere is pretty nice and warm. Staffs are really well service. Highly recommended for anybody who wants a real chill thing to meet friend and study 👍🏼

Excellent coffee and pastries. I got the large breakfast ham and cheese croissant , and a carmel vanilla frap with 2 shots of coffee. The customer service is exceptional. The environment is very welcoming and family oriented. Every Rao's I've been too are all the same. Highly recommend!

I recently re-discovered Rao's! Such a gem!

Plus Monday I had an incorrect order - and the management worked with me to fix it... it's great when a shop stands by their quality of service.

If you've never been to Rao's your gonna want to check out their exquisite selection of cakes and other desserts - they even do custom birthday cakes!

Their breakfast croissant, is amazing and has a real cheddar cheese!! The coffee beverages cannot be beat!! Seriously! If you like caramel, try the Carmella late - and I'm sorry if you get addicted!!

The interior of the bakery is beautiful, and a nice place to meet for a meal with family or friends.

They also have Gelato!! 😋

My first time going was recommended by friends and family. Such a great experience, A girl name Yajira Welcome me in and help me decide on what to get was very helpful. I went in for a coffee come out with breakfast and a dessert. From the looks of it she really motivated and loves making coffee and really good at it very sweet girl and always laughing and make you feel welcome every time you enter the bakery.

Nice, quite habitat to relax, work —meetings— or to be in groups, just spending some great time.

They are always friendly when I go. A few weeks ago my son helped an older lady (80s) by keeping the door open for her as she exited the building, then opened her car for her while she got in. When we walked into the building all the employees were standing there smiling, telling me they watched the whole thing and he tugged on all their heart strings and gave him a free cookie of his choice. This is my go to place for frappes, and strawberry cheesecakes. I'm not a huge fan of cheesecakes but they are the best!!!

What a great bakery. They have breakfast and lunch items and awesome desserts. Nice atmosphere.

After doing a 5 hour drive to return to my Hurricane Laura hit town. My mother had dessert waiting us!!!!!! Very delicious!!!!!!

5 stars for the atmosphere, I love to bring a book and order a latte and snack.
4 stars for the latte, if I remove the foam, I have 3/4 cup of latte and it's not hot enough.
4 stars for the breakfast wrap I had, it was not at all tasty.
I will keep returning, I like it better than Starbucks.
Dec of 2021 update: I ordered a German chocolate cake for a cousin's birthday! It was so good, he had to cut himself an additional piece for later because it was disappearing in minutes....and there were other cakes at his party. Rao's German chocolate cake is so rich and moist! I highly recommend it!

We were there today for coffee and the wonderful owner found out that today was our 51th anniversary and he gave us a little cake 🎂that was so very good. Also found out that he knew my husband's brother and his wife. His sons were in brother's classes. THANK YOU for your kindness🤩 GOD Bless you🙏❤

When my family comes to the area, Rao's is a MUST stop for us. Their baked goods, sandwiches, and the Italian Ices are all amazingly good. Friendly and prompt service. With an added bonus of also having unique gift items. We love this place.

Made my diabetes act up walking through the door.
The pastries are great. Also has the chicken salad sandwich, really good.
I have been here twice, definitely will be back.

I absolutely LOVE Rao's Bakery. It is much better than Starbucks. Everything is very fresh and yummy - I seriously have not had one bad choice here! I only come to Nederland for work and I make sure to get my morning coffee and breakfast at Rao's. Also, try the sugar cookies. I HAVE to bring them back home with me when I leave town because everyone loves them so much.

Ok... BEST chocolate covered strawberries I've ever had... Best fruit cream tart thingy I've ever had. Devoured in the parking lot. The cake for my son's birthday was FABULOUS. The nicest staff ever. They were young too, but so sweet. Great service all the way around the board. I can't believe I have lived in this town for almost 4 years and have never been to the gem of a shop. I am glad the cake is over with, I almost ate myself into a diabetic coma. Haha

Went today and got a cold coffee that was absolutely phenomenal. Miss Danae made my drink and I must say it was DELICIOUS!!! I'm visiting here and heard about this place. I'll be looking forward to tasting another drink. Hopefully made by Danae.

So quaint. Good customer service. Good coffee and desserts.
