Our first visit here. We had a pet with us, so we couldn’t go in with it. But we could order and enjoy it in their little outdoor picnic area so the puppy could run around. They have vegan-friendly sandwiches and hummus and things. Everything is freshly made and was very good. A tad pricey and takes awhile for order to be ready. We waited 20 minutes. But the food was well worth the wait. Homemade potato chips were fantastic.

My friend Johnathan has raved about this place for years and I finally got to try it. Our wait was short and our waiter was great. We had the truffle fries for an appetizer with parmesan ranch and roasted garlic mayo sauces.

Absolutely perfect. I forgot to try the spicy ketchup though.

I had the Roosevelt with a side of horseradish mayo for the house made chips. They included a homemade pickle that was delicious. My wife gave me hers and I was happy that mine was sweeter but hers was also more of a classic pickle.

The chips were crispy and had the right amount of salt.

The Roosevelt delivered. Roast beef and bacon came together for a wonderful sandwich. Highly recommend.

Next time, I'm trying a Kennedy.

They also had a paloma on the cocktail menu that was strong and a little less sweet than expected. If they had been serving me these in Mexico when I went last summer, I would've been napping all day.

Overall, this was everything I hoped it would be. I can't wait to visit again.

On my way to Babcock State Park to do some photography but felt a little hungry….The locals were talking about Secret Sandwich Society in Fayetteville, WV and their legendary Pimento Cheese Fries! So knowing I’m going to be burning a lot of calories I had to go and see if the legends were true. When I arrived you can tell that this is no ordinary sandwich shop, the decor inside and out is very inviting and the menu has around 15 unique sandwich options as well as 5 burger options. If you have kids they do have a children’s menu upon request. I ordered The Truman that had a melody of flavors that I must say were like the odd couple family reunion! Tasty Turkey, peach jam, blue cheese, crispy onions on a potato roll that was soft and perfectly crisped on the inside of the bun. It sounds a little weird but the sandwich was great! Now let’s talk about those pimento fries….you would think there would be a let down after all the hype!!! Nope, these fries were heavenly especially with the jalapeño and crumbled bacon added….but wait there is more, the sandwich came with an in house made pickle that had a mellow flavor with a little surprise taste that I can’t quite put my finger on it but the firmness was perfect and the crunch was exactly where you want it. If you are in the area visiting New River Gorge or Babcock State park put this spot on your itinerary!

Nice ambience, service, food and drinks. We visited on a Monday afternoon and had a Moondog (beer) alongside a Brussels Sprouts for appetizer, which followed with a Lady Bird and a Fillmore (sandwiches). Everything was good, although I'd have liked the eggplant crust to be thinner in the Fillmore.

On the downside, street parking was a hassle as all the spots were occupied but we managed to find a spot a little further away. There was an additional 30 minute wait for a table, so all in all, we had to spend quite some time waiting before getting a table. But this also goes to say that the restaurant is really popular. Would recommend visiting.

Just ate there two weeks after the grand reopening and it lived up to all the hype and expectations! We were tourists spending the weekend zip lining, hiking, and white water rafting. The food and drinks here absolutely hit the spot! The loaded pimento fries were phenomenal and will feed a small family! We had the Adams and Lafayette sandwiches which were delicious! A must visit if you’re in the area!

Excellent food and our server couldn't have been more wonderful!
She recommended the pimento cheese fries with bacon and green onions, so we ordered that and split a roast beef sandwich. Those fries - omg! So delicious, and the sandwich was great too! We had to wait about 10 minutes for a table but were able to wait outside and they texted us when our table was ready. Will definitely eat here again when in the area!

All 4 of us had great sandwiches, The Kennedy, the Hoover, the Rosemarie and the Washington. The espresso martini was divine and we loved the craft pineapple cider. We'll be back!

We stopped at the Secret Sandwich Society after completing the New River Gorge Bridge Walk and it was the perfect way to end our weekend! Our waitress, Kiy Kiy, was incredibly sweet and attentive. She was very accommodating to the various food allergies and dietary restrictions our group had. It was greatly appreciated. We will return!

I choose the Adams and husband got the Truman. Both were so good! The pimento cheese had such an amazing flavor and blend on the sandwich. Grab a sandwich to go and head to a picnic up the road at the falls. Won't be disappointed!

I think my husband and I collectively had every cocktail on the menu and we regret nothing - they were delicious. On top of that we got the homemade french onion dip and that alone had me wanting more. We then ordered some sandwiches (and to be honest I am writing this review months later but please trust me that I do not think you can go wrong). We topped off the meal with their fresh cookies and we talk about this meal often. Service was outstanding. Now stop reading this and get yourself to SSS!!! And enjoy :)

Fantastic food, especially the brussel sprouts and parmesan truffle fries. The staff were amazing. Host was super friendly and our waiter Kyle really went above and beyond. Despite being busy, we were able to be in and out in 40 minutes which was awesome with having a five hour drive home ahead.

(Read the whole review, trust me.) Ho hum. Ate at SSS for the umpteenth time. So predictable. You know how they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?

But every time is the same. Warm, friendly staff. Delicious food. Original, wonderful cocktails. Great beer selection. If you're looking for some other kind of experience, you'll be sorely disappointed here. Okay, one time my mom ordered a burger done medium, and as I was seated beside her, I happened to notice it came out medium well. My heart skipped a beat! But she apparently didn't notice a thing because she was too busy enjoying her meal. She actually took the remaining 1/4 of the burger home for later. Sigh... the one time one thing wasn't perfect, it made no difference.

The spice of life is taking a few risks. That's not gonna happen here. Trust me, your experience is gonna be utterly predictable. And wonderful. 10/10

Back and better than ever. The first time my spouse and I had their delicious food was before a fire tragically shut the place down during recent events. We were ecstatic to see they had finally reopened, and made sure to stop on our way up to visit relatives for the holiday. We are both so happy to see the place thriving, and every bit of that support is deserved. Highly recommend the SSS as a meal stop on your way through southern West Virginia.

I enjoyed my meal however, there was a few things that threw me off in regards to there service
-the hard copy of the menu had no pricing we had to scan the electronic menu
-the food took an extremely long time to get to our table
-the only opinions for burgers is pink or no pink which bothers me the most especially for such a large burger. Well done or rare seems like such a wide gap. I prefer a medium but had to settle for well done and to no surprise the burger turned out to be quite dry

5 stars based on combined visits.

I just returned to the Secret Sandwich Society for my first visit post-fire. Wow! The place is entirely different, huge, and very nice.

What isn't different is the food. Mostly excellent. I would not recommend the fries as there seemed to be fried hours earlier but otherwise the sandwiches and salads are outstanding. Nice beer selection too.
