Legacy Animal Emergency Hospital

This emergency vet actually smells good and is very clean compared to many other veterinarian offices in this area.

The office visit fees are reasonable and in-line with another clinic we've been to when we lived in Odessa. The best part is that they bring you an estimate before proceeding with treatment and discuss services that may be optional for your animal. I love the transparency as it protects both patient and the office. I hate having to argue or anguish over a bill after rather than before.

All staff including the reception tech were superb and caring. I was getting questions answered from beginning to end. Dr. Parra patiently explained her diagnosis and reccomended treatment for Lulu. She answered questions patiently as well. The tech was especially kind with Lulu when taking her vitals.

Oh, did I mention snacks and water for pet owners? Legacy is a great option for emergency care.

My Sweet Kitty Wrangler was so sick and Legacy Hospital was absolutely amazing! The girl at the front desk was absolutely sweet, caring, cared about me and my kitty. The physician he was so sweet, so nice ,listen to our concerns and answered any questions we had! They gave him a Medication to take home, and made sure he had his fluids. I called the second day and cried because I was not for sure if he would make it. They cared about me being upset and explained everything. Explain the choices if I had to put him down. They are by far the most amazing group of people I’ve ever met. He did survive and he is playing again. I'm sorry he tried to bite the y’all 😬 , but they handled it so well. I’m so thankful for the team at Legacy Hospital. I would definitely recommend them 1 million times over. Thank you for all you do.🐈♥ Wrangler thanks them toooo!!

Staff was extremely compassionate! I appreciate the effort and time they took with me and my pet. We were seen almost immediately within arriving. The decision was made that my Zoe wasn’t going to make it. The staff took the time to explain the process and allowed us all the time we needed with our sweet girl. I am forever grateful to these kind people.

Got my pup in and out, SO friendly and helpful. Got my X-rays back within 30 min and diagnosed pneumonia. They took such great care and loved my pup.

Took my Archer in a week ago. He had to be hospitalized for a couple days. I was a nervous wreck and called them so many times to check on him and every time I called they were so kind and patient. Dr Blessington and the entire staff are all incredible. I can't say enough good things about them. If I'm ever in need of an emergency vet I will not hesitate to go back. Personally, I think their prices are reasonable for an emergency vet, especially when you consider the level of care, monitoring and treatment he received from multiple professionals at all times. I know everyone working at this facility cares and wanted the best for my boy. I couldn't ask for better service. I will be forever grateful for their professionalism, compassion, and everything they did for my Archer.

Unfortunately my pup has a very aggressive and terrible disease so I've been in and out of Legacy multiple times since I left the original review. I just wanted to update and acknowledge Dr Hancock as well because he has also been incredible through this whole process. I really appreciate his honesty and willingness to tailor care as much as possible to fit my financial capabilities. He asked that we keep him updated on how Archer is doing moving forward and I just think that shows how much he truly cares. Again, the entire staff has been absolutely amazing here. I have no complaints.

I would 100% trust Dr Blessington or Dr Hancock with my pets in the future.

They helped me get my dog Winston’s prescription (for his Epilepsy) when my pharmacy and vet were both closed all weekend. I had forgotten to pick it up before the pharmacy closed and had so much trouble trying to get it transferred and getting ahold of my vet. I was super worried about him having to go without it all weekend because I had never let him miss one dose. They had me bring him in and they were able to send me home with his needed medication right from the office. Thank y’all so much! Seriously, I was and still am very grateful even though I know I was kind of a pain.

The perfect place to be if you are losing a pet. They are kind, patient, caring. They explained everything that was going to be taking place and told us what to expect. We had as much time as we wanted and needed.i highly recommend Legacy.

AWESOME!! AMAZING!!!! THANK YOU 🙏. Wife and I were on our way to California from Georgia when our dog took ill. We turned around for home, but he got worse. Everyone here was professional and compassionate. It made a bad situation much more comfortable. Blood work and X-rays all done on site and had our answers quickly. We were able to continue or travel home knowing our pup was on the mend. Thank you all so, so much. You are all truly appreciated!!

This isn’t something that I’d usually say about an emergency animal hospital but, I love this place!
The staff is so friendly and professional. I don’t know that anyone can love my Scoobs more than I do but if anyone does, it’s the staff at Legacy.
They all love him so much and it makes the experience so much better for he and I both! When I first took him in, it was around 10pm on a Sunday and I had no clue what was going on. They went straight to work to diagnose him and came up with a treatment plan asap.
They’ve made recommendations and referrals that go above and beyond anything I would have expected them to do. Off duty veterinarians have called me just to help me troubleshoot issues, they send pics to keep help calm my heart and they call or text to ask for updates when we’re not there.
They’ve cried with me, laughed with me and they love my sweet boy with me.
They also don’t judge me for our late night visits or when they find me laying on the floor with him while I feed him animal crackers.
They truly are so wonderful here! 10/10 recommend! I cant wait for the Elite to open so I can continue bringing him to the people he knows and loves!

I just had to take my little dog of 16 years to Legacy on Sunday night to cross the rainbow bridge after a stroke. The staff were so incredibly kind and understanding, while the fee was comparable to my normal vet. I'm very grateful for how they treated both me and my friend.

5 stars for the people there, the work, and helping my cat get better after an emergency trip late one night. It’s the Permian, so expect Permian prices + an emergency vet clinic price. Still paid it though, so I can’t knock stars off for that. Definitely recommend if you need an emergency vet in the area.

This business was very kind and compassionate about my cat, they didn't avoid telling me what was wrong with her so we could make the best decision for her. With the tough decision to let her sleep, the vet was incredible explaining everything and was empathetic towards us as owners losing our fur baby. I would recommend them 100% and will come back if ever in another emergency.

They were open on Christmas day! I'm so thankful to all the staff who took the time to talk me through every step of what was happening and all the options I had and gave me the time I needed to make a decision. They were very kind and respectful when I made the hard decision to let my cat go. If I ever decide to adopt another animal, this would be my first choice for veterinary care.

Thank you for taking care of my sweet Chanel this morning. The staff I encountered with were all very nice and caring. No wait time at all. Plus they gave me some knowledgeable advice for future reference. They are open 24/7 and within the city. The price for our visit was a little steep (for me) but compared to other places it was reasonable.

I recently had an unexpected encounter with an injured cat on the road, and I knew I needed to act to get him help. Thankfully, I found Legacy Hospital and rushed the cat to their care.
The staffs were incredibly kind and professional, immediately assessing the cat's condition and providing the necessary treatment for his injuries. They kept me updated on his progress and made sure he was comfortable throughout his stay.

Where to start? This practice is AMAZING! The office itself is super clean, modern, organized and has comfy seating throughout (huge plus especially when wait times are to be expected). Dr. Blessington is just that, a blessing. She treated our 11yr old pup with compassion and was very thorough with her examination and treatment plan. The staff is just as kind and compassionate as the doctor. I had to leave my baby overnight and I had no doubt he was in great hands. They are upfront about costs and treatment options. The way they treated us upon arrival, through my pups stay and even now a couple days after discharge, made me a lifelong client. I hope we won’t find ourselves needing their services in the future but if we do, I will gladly be back knowing my pup will be cared for! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU ❤

We brought our lab mix in last night with twisted stomach. We decided it was best to put her down. The staff was absolutely amazing. They let us say our goodbyes and stay with her while she crossed over. They are taking care of all the cremation services as well as a paw print impression. If we ever have an emergency situation again I will take my babies there.

I’ve come here with my pups on more than one occasion, and the girls who work here are really nice! Things can be busy sometimes with people who come in but that’s understandable. I’m honestly shocked looking through some of these reviews about pricing. It’s an emergency clinic, of course it’ll cost more than a regular vet! If you go to the ER do you expect it to cost the same as if you made an appointment with your doctor? I sure hope not! It’s the same thing, they have to pay for 24 hour utilities, 24 hour staffing, and 24 hour convenience. That isn’t cheap! You get what you pay for, and emergency medicine (humane or animal) will never cost the same as a visit to a regular doctor, because it’s not the same! It’s a bit idiotic to think it would be the same as a regular old vet visit that only has to pay for 1/3rd of the open time that this place does. You girls do great!

Christmas Day we unfortunately found ourselves in need of an emergency vet. The closest one to us was Legacy and thank goodness for that! From arrival, to the surgery to post op help, Legacy was there whenever we needed them. Their staff was understanding, had clear communication and all around great company. Our dog was not a fan of having any type of cone, bandage, or stitches on his body and he did EVERYTHING to try and fight it. I called Legacy, and they quickly helped me find a solution. They were attentive, respectful and professional. My one suggestion would be to adjust pricing in some areas. When your fur babies are hurt you’ll pay just about anything (within reason). I have no issue paying for the care my dog needs, especially during an emergency. However, charging $40 for a tiny leash that was probably purchased for a quarter of that price is unnecessary. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the service we got here. I came into Legacy extremely worried/anxious about my fur baby, and left feeling a sense of relief because I knew he was in great hands.

Genuine care, but extremely high-priced:
Pretty much the only true 24-hour emergency animal hospital in Midland. I rushed my sweet, diabetic girl over to them twice for hypo- and hyperglycemia late at night. From the time we walked in, they got us into a room & had her bloodwork done in about half an hour. It was heavily suggested that she stay for overnight monitoring, but we ultimately decided to just get a new glucometer & a fresh vial of insulin, due to how unfortunately costly they (& majority of all 24-hour vets) are- for a 12-hour stay, the quote was well above $1000. For the weekend, it was estimated at $2500-$3000. The vet and vet technicians were very understanding and referred us to our new regular vet clinic- where 4 days only costed us around $700 in total (Angel's in Odessa). I appreciate this place so much, and I cannot thank them enough. ❤
