Lakeland Park

Every time I’ve been here has been so pleasant. The trails are kept up on very well and is usually very clean, no litter. Lots and lots of wildlife and tons of different birds to look at. I’ve been here many times from just eating some lunch with a friend, to sitting in my warm car on a cold day watching the geese and swans, to walking the paths. It’s always been a good time and I have not had any bad experiences!

Canton has such beautiful parks. We love coming to Lakeland to kayak, bike, feed the fish off of the bridge, or to just walk along the trail. Very beautiful!!

A wonderful example of a well done reclamation project. When the city of Canton took over this property it was the remnants of an old coal mining site. It has since been converted into a very popular (and even more enjoyable) city park. There are several small lakes with boat ramps, a walking trail, multiple shelters, bicycle rentals, and a veterans memorial. Fishing is a popular attraction here, but more people (in my estimation) are just coming out for the views and/or a relaxing walk among the lakes.

Lots of options at Lakeland Park. Everything is nicely laid out, clean and user friendly. Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful park, great place to bike through

Open and peaceful. Few pokestops and a gym if you play. Would have been nice if it wasn't so gloomy. You can also rent paddle boats and go out and play with the ducks if thats your thing.

Canton has a robust park district, especially for its size

Amazing and beautiful place for venues and events.

The addition of the playground is very nice too.

Spacious, and lots of room for big events, especially in an area of small vacant areas like Canton.

We love Lakeland Park. It's a very peaceful place to go if you want to walk, fish or just enjoy the scenery.

This is a very pretty and serene park. There are very few structures to disrupt nature. They have a tribute to veterans and also give special recognition to those who have achieved great endeavors from the area (like astronaut Steve Nagel). They also have bikes you can rent from your phone app.
It couldn't have been a more special visit.

One of our happy places. Slow fishing since the water is down right now (June '23) , but that does not take away from the peacefulness of this park.

We had a beautiful afternoon, sitting under some shade trees with a cool, delicious breeze coming off the lake. A light lunch, cold drinks, and watching the waterfowl made it a perfect day. We didn't realize until we drove away that it was actually over 90 degrees that day! Thanks for making our stopover in Canton so pleasant!

Great place to walk. Very relaxing. Beautiful scenery and wildlife.

Large park which can accommodate a wide range of activities. If you're into running, walking, hiking. or cycling, there are paved hiking and biking trails. For the fisherman there are numerous large lakes stocked with fish from which to choose. For the kids there are sections of playground equipment. And for the person who just enjoys the outdoors, there are areas of native prairie to observe. Peaceful area.

Gorgeous park located on the outskirts of Canton. Family friendly environment which offers a playground, walking/biking trail, and small lakes for fishing or canoeing. The only negative thing I would say, is the park officers can be rude occasionally. The instructions given at the office for being off the water should be clearly stated as having a permit turned in at the stated time, not the verbal, "be off the water @__________" that is given. Being new to town with an overly enthusiastic officer about enforcing this unknown turn in time left a bitter taste in our mouth and children that are afraid to boat at Lakeland, but that is the only negative experience we have had.

AWESOME PLACE ! First time I took my 12 year old daughter fishing and she's hooked, Mainly because she out fished everyone with 24 catches that day and cought a 4.8 lbs Large Mouth which got her picture on the wall there with the fish.

I love riding the trails with my grandkids. Very quiet and Serene place with plenty of amenities, including a nice playground, boat launches, shelters and so much more.
