Had brunch today with my family of 5. First time visiting, as we live out of town. Everything was wonderful. It was very busy, which indicated a good sign for us as we walked in. We didn’t wait long to be seated, the food was great, and service as well. Will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again! I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich, which my server recommended when I asked her opinion between a few things and I’m so glad she did because it was one of the best I’ve ever had!

Great service and food! I would go back again. Not only they serve regular bacon, they also serve turkey bacon! I'm definitely coming back. It's hard to find restaurants that serves turkey bacon, turkey links or patties. Thank you!

Gabby’ is known for its all day breakfast and they did not disappoint. I had the cheese and mushroom omelette which was bursting with mushrooms and stuffed with melted cheddar cheese. I opted for the grits with brown sugar, and the grits were creamy with a firm texture. My mother had the senior burger, which she declared the perfect size and my brother had the gargantuan pork tenderloin, which was crispy on the outside yet tender and juicy on the inside. Wonderful service, friendly staff, and lots of convenient parking. The price was very reasonable as for 4 people total, it was slightly less than $40.

This restaurant is an old-style diner with echoes of the 1950s. I dined there on the morning of January 1st 2023 after about 4 hours of sleep (friends played music until 2 am) and the energy of the wait staff and the kitchen were much needed and very satisfactory. I paid a small price for an excellent meal. I live about an hour and a half from Peoria, IL and would definitely return to this establishment for another meal. Sincerely Yours, Br3nt

Amazing food and the customer service is amazing. They keep track of your previous orders and it makes it super easy to make a quick stop for a good breakfast. Don't miss out on the cinnamon buns!

Great family restaurant! Good food! My favorite is the skillet breakfast! My husband loves the Hearty Breakfast, cause he has a big appetite! I'm glad that they have turkey bacon or patties instead of pork and beef!

We weren’t sure if Gebby’s was going to be able to accommodate our giga-table, which was the largest table in Gebby’s recorded history. But our waitress Becky was able to handle it with no problem, and everyone got their order. The kitchen stepped up and executed one of the greatest cooking performances in Central IL history.

This was just damn good eating.

It could have been an IHOP or truckstop but it was Gebby's.

The server was one of the most gracious and knew the menu well. I had chicken fried steak and eggs. Whoever was in the kitchen was no slouch either!

Perfect eggs. My buddy had some burger that was perfectly cooked and juicy. I don't really remember decor because my mouth and brain were full of food.

Apparently, they have country gravy with or without sausage, altho why you would not want it is a mystery. If I can restraint myself from the country fried steak ever (and I probably can't), I will totally try a burger.

The fries were crisp, excellent, and every item was steaming hot when we got it. Bonus Gebby's tip: breakfast or not, those fries deserve to drown in country gravy before you bite thier little heads off.

Love, love, love.

Very comfortable atmosphere.

A whirlwind of a visit.

The day before, day of, and the day after visiting Gebby’s was the most whirlwind of times in 2014 for me. This breakfast was on the day before my cousin’s wedding. It was a mad dash to get some grub, set up the VFW for a wedding and also rehearse the wedding. Andy, my cousin, raved so much about Gebby’s that we decided to come here on wishes of the groom.

The interesting thing about Gebby’s is that it’s two restaurants in one building. While that might not be weird on its own, the fact that Gebby’s is the breakfast side of things and Schooner’s is the lunch/dinner side.

After deciding to go to Gebby’s, we got most of the wedding group crammed in a few cars and headed there. Once we got there, we had to wait a few minutes for enough tables to empty so they could push them together for our large group. But, it was a short wait considering there being about 10 of us. The jumbo table was ready for us.

My cousin suggested a few things to try out and I ended up getting their biscuits and gravy with a side eggs and bacon. Due to the sheer amount of food ordered, it did take awhile for it to come out. That is to be expected but the overall wait wasn’t that long at all.

When our waitress set our food down in front of us, I nearly died of laughter. My side of eggs and bacon was arranged in a smiley face. I hadn’t even taken a bite yet and I was already loving this place. It’s little touches like this that let you know that you are in for a treat. I can thankfully say that the food had that touch as well. Each bite had that taste as if grandma made it. I remember wanting a second round but that was out of the question for this wedding group. We had things to do and places to go.

If you are in the Peoria area and are needing some good breakfast during breakfast hours, Gebby’s won’t leave you disappointed… unless you get there too late and only Schooner’s is open.

A nice, family run breakfast restaurant with many menu options. Service is solid and the food was fresh to order. When in Peoria, definitely check this place out to start your day! Really enjoyed it.

The staff, waitress (Kim) and Bobby (Manager) were absolute tops. Every restaurant should have a Kim. Food came quickly and was very good. First time going there and will definitely be back. Everyone there seemed to know each other, and I even ran into someone I knew 20+ years ago. Felt like a small town diner.

The biggest downside was the pancake tasted like it had been made on the same grill as something with garlic, peppers and onion. Back of house was good but may want to dedicate some grills to specific foods.

04/29 - If I did a WHO'S WHO review on this place I would rate Gebby's as BEST OF THE BEST BREAKFAST in Peoria, Illinois. Friendly, clean, and welcoming to anyone. Come as you are and EAT.

GREAT FOOD. Get to Gebby's early because the restaurant gets busy. Sit at the counter and watch the dance between the waitresses and the chef.

Gebby's is one of the best diners in town. Has a lot of regulars, great american food at great prices (even after the pandemic after which everybody jacked up their prices). It is a place where you will see people from every layer of the society. The owner or the person who runs the restaurant also helps in the kitchen if necessary and cones and talks with you at the table, asking you if you like the food or service and then chitchatting with you. I usually go once a week to Gebby's and never regret it. Prompt service from friendly staff
