Cannot say enough about Shutes! First off, Pat is incredible and made our experience even more special and his special Bloody Mary is spectacular (summer season treat so get it while it lasts!). Bar was built in 1890, everything is original except the current mural and furniture/appliances. You must stop in and stay a bit!

Girls weekend, stumbled across this bar and so glad we did. A piece of Michigan history! Originally an 1890 Italian club. Was told it was the oldest bar in Michigan. Beautiful doesn't do justice to the inside of this place. Classic, elegant, must see bar, cabinets, ceiling and awning. Friendly knowledgeable bartender and tasty drinks!! Didn't get a chance to eat here.

We loved the “neighborhood bar” vibe in Shutes. They have a friendly staff and are definitely worth a visit if you are in Calumet.

Absolutely one of the most incredible looking bars I’ve had the pleasure of frequenting. The awning inside and woodworking is spectacular. The bar itself is one long piece of mahogany, the hand painted mural of the town on one whole side of the wall, can go on and on. Highly recommend.

A very cool old establishment. Lots of history in this place. Pretty chill place to grab a drink and meet people. Beautiful old furnishings, a must see if you're in Calumet.

Cool little bar .. nice inside and the food is good .. we stop here on the sleds every year .. its usually not to busy. The staff is great . Nice place to stop ..

One of the coolest and best preserved historic bars I have ever seen. Everything about this bar, from the murals on the walls to the original wall mirror and copper overhang is ornate and calls back to the days when this was a rich and bustling boom town in the copper mining days when more wealth was extracted from here in copper than gold from the gold rush.

If you are looking to grab a drink, this place is a must. If you don't drink, I would start just temporarily just so you can spend some inside this one of a kind location.
