The Local Grocer

My coworker brought in a wrap with the word vegan written on the saran wrap around it. I had little interest in actually eating it (she gave it to me, I wasn't stealing) because I have been a pretty diligent carnivore for the past 30 years. After several hours and a few belly grumbles I decided to give it a try. What's the worst that could happen yanno? Turns out I could swap to vegan tomorrow if I ate one of those wraps every day! I have no clue what was in it other than cucumbers and onions, but it was unbelievable. Even inspired me to leave a review. Good on you, local grocer.

Our favorite local grocery store featuring Michigan products. The staff like to joke around with you and are super friendly. Great selection of cheeses and unique snacks. They have a seating area with large windows if you want to dine in. We love this place!

The owners are so kind. They have the most amazing goodies and treats and necessities too. They have been so kind to let me host my SMART Recovery meetings there and my attendees also love it. Thank you guys so much! Everybody in Flint should be shopping here.

After an exhaustive search and a few failed attempts to score a carton of C.F. Burger Creamery's Old Fashioned egg nog; I found one carton left at The Local Grocer. I thought that I wasn't going to have any this Christmas as it's the 21st of December as of today. So I was super charged to find out they had one carton left in stock. Thank you for carrying this product.

Awesome to see this type of place in Flint. Their selection of Michigan, and often specifically Flint made products is impressive. They've allowed me to find and try new favorites. Without them I would have never experienced the glory that is a shrub soda! Keep up the amazing job you all are doing.

Everything in this store is from Michigan somehow. A nice variety of things. From produce to backed goods to crafts. There is even a free little library inside! They have a loyalty card. And they have a kitchen, which is perfect if you want to stop in and order something on your lunch break.

They have 2 locations, the storefront which is open 7 days a week and the farmer's market location. I love both, you can get more ready made foods (grab and go stuff) at the store tho. Plus I feel like the market usually has more produce, but I haven't gone to both locations in the same day to compare.

Kind and gifted people distributing locally made products, locally grown produce, and in-house baked goods. Pay particular attention to the extensive organics selection and lovely produce. The bakery produces goods that are, in my opinion, far better than the local bakeries. This store is a blessing to Flint, MI.

When I want natural or organic ingredients, I go here. Friendly service and an added bonus The Gumbo Trap is also located inside the store🤗

Update on the Gumbo Trap
I ordered for my coworkers and myself. Went all the way to Carpenter rd and she forgot my cornbread. We still gave her another chance. Placed another order on another day only to discover she had given us seafood boils. When I called her back she thought I was the person that sent the text for the order and she said that the person that picked up the food told her we wanted seafood boils. I told her I was the one that picked up the food. She then tells me, well I can't give you more food unless you bring the food you have back. I told her that was my whole point for calling. To Get the food we wanted. I go and swap out the food. On the way back to work she calls me to tell me that my coworkers food is all in one pan. But my food is separated. I said okay. But that seemed Strang to me because she had never done that before. Well, turns out after I ate her food I was throwing up and had diarrhea for the next two days. My coworker was fine though. So it's safe to say that neither I nor my coworkers will EVER ORDER FROM THE GUMBO TRAP AGAIN.

I love this store! I'm always for locally grown and organic! And I especially love the prepared foods in the fridge area.I highly recommend! Love Love❣

I love this place. The owners are very helpful and friendly. They offer a large selection of vegan and gluten free items. The best vegan cookies around!!
