Hickory Street Bar

Was in town and needed a bite. Decent food and cheap beer. I had the turkey bacon melt and hubby had a burger.

Tracey and her staff went above and beyond my expectations when they catered our daughter's weddi g this past weekend. The food was delicious and their service was outstanding. Their special attention to the bridal party, as well as our elder guests was very much appreciated!! I can't thank you enough!

Food was great. Had the special teriaky pork with swivel fries and it was great. Service was friendly and fast.

Went for lunch and had the pickles, cheese curds, and fish tacos. The pickles were thick cut with a beer better and really good. Fish tacos were great. Flaky and not overcooked. The Apple jalapeno chutney and pickled onions were a fresh, bright flavor along with housemade chips and queso. Very pleasantly surprised with this small town gem.

They get 5 stars because of the effort and creativity it takes to sustain quality over time in a SMALL town in South Dakota. I visit family here and live in Los Angeles. The last job I had in a restaurant was working for Wolfgang Puck in the 90’s. I was an expediter at Obechine in Beverly Hills and the Cafe on Crescent Heights in Los Angeles, and we’d do 1500 plates on a weekend night service. I’ve been lucky enough to eat some great food, and these guys do the same thing any good restaurant does. They use fresh, quality ingredients, and serve a solid menu of standards and creative attempts to introduce new things.
I’m in NO way affiliated, but I like the food, the vibe and the owners. Sisseton is a little town, seems to have a lot of great people ( my grandma is in the nursing home here) and Hickory Street is a find.

I have traveled the United States coast to coast. Been in hundreds of cities and towns, large and small. When I had the privilege of eating at this small town restaurant I was simply amazed at the flavors put out by this kitchen. I can't say enough good about my experience. Great food, great price. The people of Sisseton are so lucky to have such a great food option. Thank you for the great food Hickory Steet Kitche.
