Mille Lacs State Wildlife Management Area.

No motorized vehicles (e-bikes included) and not even a horse is allowed so a test of your endurance is an understatement.
The deer hunting is phenominal if you hunt around "Devils Hole" but that's approximately 5 miles from the nearest parking area. If you want a dandy, you gotta' go deep.
With 39,000 acres of hunting, your chance at B&C buck is better here than any other WMA in this area.
I only live 1 mile from here and look at some of the bucks that visit my backyard night and day!
And don't get me started about the black bears that visit.
As soon as the crops are harvested and the first snow arrives, these deer head to the WMA for the winter which usually coincides with the deer opener and makes for some good hunting.
Go prepared for anything from a medical emergency to encountering a black bear, timber wolves, or a cougar.
Your not the only apex predator here and that's why I like hunting this WMA.
You just never know what's over the next ridge!
