Nice campground. Clean bathrooms, dish sinks at each bathhouse, and coin-operated showers with good water pressure. Staff at check-in/camp store were very friendly! Access to multiple hikes and the bike path from the campground. Good location near the middle of Franconia Notch State Park and the park is beautiful! Not too crowded on weekdays in early/mid-September.

My family and I absolutely love staying at Lafayette Place Campground every summer. The tent sites are always in great shape, and it is so great having clean bathrooms and showers nearby. We also really like the friendly/respectful environment. The rangers are very knowledgeable and the supplies and provisions in their shop have saved us on more than one occasion.

We stayed here a few nights on our way to Maine. The only reason we chose this park is it’s proximity to Mount Washington and the Kancamagus highway. This park has primitive sites with no electricity, which is fine with us because we have a generator. I would not recommend large class A’s or even C’s to attempt to stay here as the roads are narrow and sites are pretty small. We fit perfectly with our 24’ Lance trailer and didn’t have much of a problem parking in spot 40.

Better than expected. The campsite was nice and you can hear some road traffic, but it stormed the night we slept here, so any road noise was drowned out and we didn't have any issues sleeping. The camp store sells plenty of items in case you forget anything and also firewood. Bathrooms and showers were surprisingly nice. Hot showers use quarters and they said they have a quarter machine but we didn't need it. Also a big sink to clean any dirty dishes and washer & dryer (but we didn't need to use it). Definitely would stay here again.

Come be humbled by one of the most magnificent forests you’ve ever seen. If you think your tent ⛺ is enough, you are wrong. We visited in mid August and it rained all night, every night, even though the weather forecast said no rain. The mornings were sunny and hot, the nights frigid (we slept under 4 blankets, bring thermal undergarments, extra thick jacket and wool hat and socks). Trees act like a magnet for water. Bring heavy duty tarps and paracord + foldable canopy… put one tarp under your tent, one above. Bring quarters for the (surprisingly hot) showers and laundry machines, and silicone earplugs for the highway. It’s barely noticeable during the day, but a rig going uphill, echoing through the valley at 4am, will wake you right up. Cellphone reception is poor to non-existing. Be very mindful with your food, coolers (we kept ours in the car overnight), and cooking area, and diligently dispose of any smelly garbage at the dump station by the office…there are bears! The fire rings here have very nice grill attachments. We used foil for cooking to make sure we didn’t leave any grease by the fire overnight. Each site comes with a long picnic table, but definitely bring your own foldable chair. This place is not for the faint of heart, but its beauty will stay with you forever.

Absolutely love this campsite. Clean bathrooms and showers, laundry, playground, trails directly off the campgrounds, camp store for emergency provisions and good fire wood, truly beautiful grounds. Sites are well kept, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We come every year. You are close to the highway but the road is not well traversed in the wee hours.

My favorite camp ground of all time. Everyone was SO NICE. We car-camped and as two young women camping alone, I truly felt watched over by the employees. They told us the best places to eat and while there. And helped us buy any supplies we needed in their little store.

It was starting to get cold out, so the fact that the showers got as warm as they did… I was truly impressed. Just remember to bring quarters. The grounds and bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve EVER seen while camping. And I’ve done a lot of camping.

The Lonesome Lake trail was right by the campground. This was a truly amazing trail. Just make sure you don’t accidentally start on the bike trail if you’re starting it in the dark. The lake is a truly amazing spot for sunrise, if you can catch it.

Prepare for very little cell service, if any at all. There’s a random gazebo with cell service along Route 3 (Cog Railway Display). We used that a lot for any remote work we had to do. It’s probably about 15-20 minutes away.

This campground is situated right at the start of some excellent mountains, including Cannon, Lafayette, Haystack, and more. If you want to take a moment, and cut down on a long drive, it can be nice to simply walk out of your campground. At night, the traffic of the highway can sometimes be noisy, due to the sound reverberating off the mountains, however it is not that bad at all.

Nice campground with direct walking access to a couple hiking trails (we did Lafayette and also Pemi trail to The Basin), showers are big (you'll need at least 5 0.25 coins) and campsites are big and clean, the shop at the entrance has a lot of stuff and the staff was nice. Do not leave food outside, the signs they have about bears are there for a reason, we saw one by the dumpsters one morning (check the video), our 5 day stay was great here.

A beautiful campground with good services, a convenient camp store and direct access to several beautiful hiking trails! There's tons to explore and the looming white mountains are humbling in their scale.

Nice parking spot. Google maps shows entrance to this spot a little far, so we missed the right turn and had to come back again to enter this spot which added 11mins to trip. Washroom is located on the other side of the road , which can be crossed via tunnel below it.

Beautiful trails, well kept overall, and clean bathrooms with coin operated showers, laundry & lots of outlets. The store was open pretty late and had a great selection- even tents, clothes, food & hot coffee for those completely impromptu camping trips or gear failures.

Many trails accessible from here, and several others just a few minutes drive away.

Two nights here in autumn. Nice mix of spots. Camp hosts were helpful. 10 min walk to Mt Lafayette trailhead. The trailhead is packed in fall. I recommend staying here if you plan to do the hike

Great amenities and everything is very well maintained. Sites are all unique and spaced apart pretty well. I really like that the roads are paved so even my hatchback can manage things just fine.

Store is well equipped and staff are very friendly and helpful. Easily one of the best tenting experiences I've ever had.

Great location near lots of trails both easy paved and harder hikes! It had clean bathrooms, clean and nice sites, a camp store, and lots of space between campsites when we were there. The sound of the highway is noticeable but the location is so good and there is tree buffer that reduces the sound so we were fine with it.

Best campground we've stayed at. The bathrooms and showers are kept very clean as is the entire campground. There is a dishwashing station provided right outside the shower facility with two sinks, hot and cold running water and an overhang. We found this to be quite the luxury. No trash laying about and the campsites are very well maintained, flat and spacious. The staff is very friendly and works very hard to maintain the campground. They are present but not intrusive and very responsive to issues and concerns. Highway noise is apparent from all areas of the campground. This is unfortunate, but something we got used to. And the trade off for being in a really prime location near all of the great attractions around Franconia Notch is well worth it. There are some really great trails that leave right from the campground. We did the Lonesome Lake trail which was quite a workout but totally worth it as the lake is just stunning. Big props to the staff who maintain and operate this park and the NH State Parks for running this place properly. We'll be back again for sure.

Me and a friend reserved a campsite a month in advanced for August, and made it an annual thing since. The mountains were beautiful, the attractions were really just a fresh breath of air. I would stay here forever if I could. If it didn’t rain all day and night, it would’ve been even better. But what can I say? It’s was still an experience worth reliving.

Just amazing! I saw a lot of negative comments regarding the noise! As few others pointed out, it was NOTHING! I considered that as white noise and was able to sleep pretty nicely! camping site it self is very clean and if you can get a site near the lake, it would be pretty amazing! hotwater and washrooms are pretty darn clean! will be going again!

Attentive, friendly staff and well-maintained grounds. Facilities are good as well. The highway noises are infrequent and dull but they are not loud and take away nothing from the camping experience. If you are going to leave a bad review for this campground because of the highway noise, then you yourself deserve a bad review for being dumb enough to expect absolute silence at a campground that is literally right next to a major highway.

What an awesome 5 days we spent here!!! The campsites are spacious, the bathrooms are great, the lodge is well equipped! The people who do registration at the lodge desk are THE BEST!!!-courteous, knowledgeable, accommodating, efficient. We have been on the road for over two years and have never had better service. In addition to wonderful camping, there is SO MUCH to do in the area! Hiking Mecca!
