Sage Creek Grille - Closed for the Season - Reopening Spring 2024

Visiting from out-of-state, we saw this place highly rated on TripAdvisors so we decided to try it out! We were not disappointed in the slightest. Food was spectacular and the service was great!

On our road trip to South Dakota. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Sage Creek Grille . Rosemarie had the Jamaican Chicken fFricassee, and I had the Bourbon Street Cajun Fettuccine. They were both delicious but if I’m being honest, I think Rosemarie picked the most delicious dish.

Neither of us have had a fricassee before, but it was amazingly good. This little town in southwestern South Dakota apparently have a chef make their way from Jamaica to inspire several dishes. If you’re ever in this town, I highly recommend making a point to enjoy a meal.

We were full but their desert menu was beckoning - many choices but we decided on the Raspberry Galette which was heavenly!

We stopped for lunch with our family of six. Everyone loved the food and the service was excellent. All of our entrees were perfect. The burgers were tasty and well seasoned the salad was fresh. I added the grilled salmon, which was a great choice. The youngest child got cheese pizza and he liked it. 10/10! Hope to stop again some day.

Well, OK this may not be a Michelin 5 star restaurant, but hey, this is in Casper SD.
We are vegetarian, difficult to find good food in small towns, but Sage Creek delivered.
We had angel hair pasta with artichoke and sun dried tomatoes,and a wonderful dish, Jamaican Pea Stew which was fabulous.
Another Jamaican appetizer, mohammra was also delicious.

The ambiance was wonderful, service was superb by Jolene & our dinner was amazing! Best homemade caesar dressing EVER! Local beer from Sturgis brewing was delicious!

Eat here. You won't be disappointed. The menu isn't 12 pages deep, but they still offer an impressive array of exciting options. The difference between a good restaurant and a great restaurant is that a great restaurant has the right staff and an positive atmosphere to go with the food. As soon as we walked in the door, the hostess (Alicia? Didn't have a name tag on so sorry if the spelling is wrong) was pleasant and kind. She had a line of people,a full house, and still seemed to genuinely ask and care about how we were doing. Then, our server, Amanda, spent a fair bit of time helping us through the menu and was so patient and kind. At this point, even if the food was only so-so, it still would be a win. However, from the app (artichoke dip) to the entrée the food was delicious. Needed to be rolled out the door....generous portions.

Had a wonderful meal at Sage Creek Grille! Jenna was our server and was attentive, friendly and took excellent care of us. The food was outstanding! I had the Bourbon Street fettuccine with shrimp. Simply delicious! We sat at the bar and the staff were all gracious and welcoming . Jenn and Renaro could not have made us feel more welcome. The entire experience is one not to be missed if you're traveling to Custer!

What an incredible surprise! I'm a South Dakota native currently living(regretfully) in Washington State. A State known for unique eats. Came back home for a week, found this place in Custer. We like weird and unique foods, thought this one would check a few of our boxes.
I had the Jamaican chicken fricassee, my wife had the Jamaican vegetarian stew. In Custer, South Dakota.
A beautiful, soft spoken waitress took out order. We had barely even gotten into conversation before our food arrived. 10 minutes later we realized we both snarfed down our dinners like we had just crawled 70 miles across a dry lake bed and weren't sure what to do with ourselves... It was ridiculously good, and the flavors weren't overwhelming or distracting at all. Will be the first place we head to for supper every time we go back.

We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Friday for dinner. The tables were already full so we sat at the bar. I ordered the Jamaican Stew based on another reviewer’s recommendation, and my husband had the chicken sandwich with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Both came out of the kitchen piping hot and were absolutely delicious. (I now want to make the stew at home.) Service was attentive and friendly. By the time we left, people were waiting in line to be seated.
I highly recommend the Sage Creek Grill, but note that it is deservedly popular so plan accordingly.

Very nice service, accommodating and great food. Vegetarian options which are hard to find. Fresh and homemade delicious. I appreciated having a meal I can feel good about. Good serving sizes too. Our bellies left happy! Good dessert menu too!

The food was delicious and it came out quickly. The servers were nice and discreet. I liked the high tables, very well made. The toilet was clean and it didn't smell - it just was a little too dark for my taste. Overall a very good place, whether you are just passing through or live here.

I had my wedding rehearsal dinner at Sage creek 21 years ago and was happy to see they still had their amazing mixed green salad- didn’t try it today but have fond memories

When you first walk in you are greeted with a very beautiful aesthetic, the stone wall behind the counter is very appealing. We were seated immediately. The waitress was very polite and gave her recommendations on what to get. I had the 6oz Bison Burger and I was stunned at the amount of flavor. Every bite was fantastic. We were taken care of well, our drinks were filled before they were half empty. We never had to ask for any service to make our experience better.
For dessert we had the Carrot Cake and the Angel Food Cake. Both were delicious and a perfect way to end the meal. The workers were nice and talked with us after we ate.

Overall this was the best restaurant I have been to.

My family and I went there to celebrate my baby brother's 21st birthday while we were on vacation. Everything was simply delicious. It gives NYC a run for their money with the fresh Italian food and ingredients.

I highly recommend the Buffalo meat sauce with pasta and the artichoke dip with Peta.

The service was great! We really enjoyed our beef and bison burgers. Highly recommend this place to anyone

The standard of service and attention to detail with everything from refilling a glass to cleaning off tables between customers was amazing, far far above average! We had the walnut and blue cheese appetizer to start and it was fantastic!

Best restaurant food we had in 3 weeks time! Finally some fish (salmon). Good quality!

My husband and I both had meals that we hadn't had before, and they were amazing! The people were great, food came quickly, and the bill was low-definitely pleased

The Buffalo burger was very delicious. My server Amanda was friendly and helpful when it came to ordering the burger. Bison meat tends to be more red when cooked below medium-well, and she suggested I do medium-rare (I enjoy meats cooked rare). It came out delicious. The staff are very friendly and made small talk with me as I was a solo traveller. Definitely recommend dining here!

Tip: Bison meat is much more red than beef; cook medium-well if you don't like your meat pink.
