My wife and I stayed in one of the cabins at the Wildyrie Lodge for several days. It was a wonderful experience! The lodge and cabins sit along Lake Mamie. The lake may be slightly smaller than the other surrounding lakes but it is just as beautiful, serene, and scenic. Moreover, the area is more secluded, quiet, and quaint--with much less vehicular and pedestrian traffic (a major plus!). The cabin was clean and possessed all the utensils, toiletries and necessities during our stay. The simplicity and rustic feel to our cabin made our experience that much more enjoyable and connected to the area. Randy, Diana, and Patty--who run the front desk at both lodges--were fantastic. They were super hospitable, informative, and addressed all our needs. We had planned on staying 3 nights then moving onto Lake Tahoe for another 5 nights. Unfortunately, the fires changed those plans and we were dismayed with the thought of having to cut short our vacation. Diana came to the rescue and advised us that we could stay at one of the cabins that were vacant. We took their offer and stayed several more days--making our vacation one of the best we've had as a family. Diana accommodated our ever-changing plans and she was a godsend. We will definitely be back next year and the year after next!

This place is a rare, wonderful jewel of a place in one of the most spectacularly beautiful spots in the Sierra. The owners own the resort at Lake George too and are wonderful people. I have been staying here since I was a little kid and love that it still has all the charm of years gone by. The lodge offers freshly baked pies, board games and historic photos of early Mammoth. Think fishing, s’mores, fires by the fire pit and great family time. I am so glad they continue to offer this amazing place to relax, unwind and enjoy the beauty of the Sierras!

Great place - classic old school fishing lodge with reasonable prices. Marina is a nice bonus - week's boat rental is the best deal in the lake basin. Breakfast wasn't half bad either. Definitely consider this over Lake Mary. Much friendlier service.

The historic lodge is next to Lake Mamie. It is old but has all you need for a perfect stay. We stayed in the "apartment" upstairs which had a separate king-sized bed in the bedroom and a full kitchen. Staff was really friendly and helpful. I'm really happy we had the opportunity to stay here.

Stayed at this cute lodge for the weekend and it was great. If you want to get away and actually be with nature this is it. It was close to the downtown area with restaurants which was a plus. I typically go for a hotel but I loved this rustic lodge.

We stayed here for a couple of nights which was an exemption because they normally require 3 night stays minimum.
You can't make reservation online, you have to call but that was 2016.
The cabin we stayed in was a 2 bedroom, it was descent but the blinds on the living room doesn't closed all the way so pricey can be an issue at night.
You can rent row boats here.
Would love to come back.

Didn't stay here but I did check out the accommodations. Kind of bare bones. I'm not likely to stay here. Cozy.

This place refused to refund our money or credit us back after promising that we can get credit for our cancellation (4 weeks before arrival), they do not keep their words. There are many nicer lodges/cabins around that area to choose from. Wildyrie lodge is located on a very small lake, NOT scenic or as nice as some of the other lakes around the area. The cabin is old and dated. There are many many tiny insects flying around the lights at night time, they cling onto the walls and die and fall off all over the bathroom in the morning, so you have to clean up, it's disgusting. We stayed at many rustic cabins and never had to deal with this problem before. The people at the front desk are not friendly, they don't provide shampoo (very basic item for cabins). They make you clean and vacuum your cabin, we travel a lot and have never had to do this, on top of paying for cleaning fees! DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE, you have way better options around the area, we learned a hard lesson. There are many other much nicer, friendlier, cheaper places to choose from.

Just be careful with this place. There are a lot of places in Mammoth that will offer some cancellation or rescheduling policy. This place offers none with no flexibility. Someone in my party cancelled 4 weeks in advance, so I tried to cancel or reschedule. The office said they would look for someone else to take my reservation and if they did, I would get a refund. They called me later to tell me they found someone (which was a relief), but then that other party didn't show up. I asked if I could postpone my reservation to another week when they don't sell out (weekdays in Sept when school is back in). That way, they wouldn't lose any money but I wouldn't either. The owner said "Sorry, you lost all your money." I ended up losing more than $1000. Just something to consider when choosing a place, especially with all the uncertainty of wildfires and COVID, it's better to rent from a place that either offers some cancellation/rescheduling policy or one that tries to work with their customers.
