Hidden gem. Staff if phenomenal and the breakfast sando… Excellent. Prices are high but pretty standard for quaint New England cafes. Plenty of seating if you want to hang out plus a whole bunch outside for warm day. I’ve been living in east providence for 5 months and I can’t believe / regret that I haven’t stopped here before today. Try it out!

Best lil coffee house! Took a trip from downtown providence to explore Riverside and it was well worth the trip. Had a cold brew w a shot of mocha - excellent! No wonder they were voted best ice coffee in RI 2020. They had this overnight oats w apple cinnamon compote on top thing and it was hands down the best overnight oats I’ve had!

Ate outdoors in their cute outdoor patio. Free wifi and filtered water. Great ambiance, nice staff. Aces!

The Riverside cafe is a true gem. Coffee and food are very good and fairly priced. Staff are very pleasant / helpful. Their beans are excellent. They have some cool ‘accessories’ too - love their mug and its design! It is small inside, yes. The outside area is wonderful 3/4 of the year. Great for bikers as it is right on the path. Clean restroom. I usually stay there and relax, read, chat with friends or make new friends. A GREAT addition to Riverside, and I drive from Cranston to visit. No complaints…

Fantastic find on my bike ride from Providence on a late fall afternoon. With the bike path literally right behind this cafe that was once a train depot. Plenty of drink specials that the friendly baristas are eager to make. Light snacks perfect for refueling for more riding. Relaxed and welcoming inside as well as outdoor seating. Come and enjoy!

Excellent customer service, very friendly and great coffee. I was looking for good quality coffee like this for years. My wife and I drive 20 miles to drink a real coffee cups and enjoy that peaceful place, we find very interesting place, decoration (old fashioned) old pictures, pictures on the wall with information about what the place was like and the city before. You can actually enjoy the coffee, use board games, enjoy the place and have a good time even with free high-speed wifi, if you're someone who likes to enjoy the outdoors, with good weather you can use their tables and chairs from outside.

Borealis: first and foremost they care about coffee. Their outdoor seating is lovely and right along the bike path. Service is always consistent. It's where we get our beans.

My favorite coffee spot. The best coffee in Rhode Island. The barista is so pleasant and smiles first thing in the morning. The muffins and breakfast sandwiches are delicious and fresh

Great coffee shop we went for the lighting of the Riverside tree lighting. We have been going since it started. We weren't happy this year though they lit the tree without telling the people inside and we missed the lighting. We were getting coffee. The people around us all felt the same. Why couldn't they come in and tell us. Oh well that's what happens I guess.

Very good coffee (strength and temperature to my liking).
There is a little parking lot next to the building so it’s easy to park your car and get you coffee to go.
Maybe this is an American thing, but I asked for Flat White to which they said, ok, and then when they were handing over the coffee to me they clearly said, enjoy your Latte. This happened to me in other coffee shops too - never the less, I enjoyed the coffee. (I know Flat White wasn’t on the board)

Providence and Rhode Island in general is a great city and state for coffee. Check out my coffee list. In a sea of amazing coffee places, Borealis is the crown jewel and pride of RI. I bring any visitors here after a short ride on the east bay bike path. By far everything on the menu here is top shelf A+ fantastic. The espresso blend bean is also the best I’ve put they in my Breville barista. Better than the likes of George Howell and Intelligensia.

The cold brew here is great. Also highly recommend the Breakfast Sando with turkey bacon added on.

Great spot right next to the bike trail. Dark roast coffee was delicious and there is a sunny atmosphere. I wish they had more food options but the caprese sandwich was good.

My brother-in-law whom I live with buys a bag of coffee beans each month from a top coffee shop in a different state. A few months prior to our family's travels to the Providence area it so happened he had ordered beans from Borealis, after identifying it as among the best shops in RI. Our final day in the area then, we ventured over to East Providence and order about a dozen total drinks from Borealis. It was a big hit and I found myself quite jealous of all the locals out biking or walking the trail running behind the shop, stopping in for a potty break and a caffeine hit. Great little shop, wish I could have spent more time sampling the food offerings and other drinks!

This place is the best. Great coffee. Great location on the East Bay Bike Path. They're always bringing in local groups for pop-ups. Highly recommended the Nutella Latte, it's delicious.

A small coffee house on Bullocks Point Avenue in the Riverside section of East Providence. It borders the bike path, and it has a small outdoor patio that is ideal for sitting and sipping with a friend during the good weather, or stopping after biking on bike path for a refreshing beverage. Their prices are a little higher than a chain Coffee shop, but the muffins are always fresh and delicious, and the coffee is some of the best around. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is inviting and, casual and relaxing.

I come here for my coffee beans, which they source and then roasted locally. I love their coffee and their specialty drinks. Great pastry, too. They staff is very nice. Today I met a man in line and we chatted about Sicily for a half hour after ordering. It is that kind of a friendly place.
