Minaret Vista

Stopped on our snowmobile tour. Beautiful vista of Mammoth Mountain and the surrounding area.

Went at dawn and it was absolutely beautiful watching the mountains light up slowly as the sun rose in the east. Plenty of parking at that time of the morning and I found the perfect rock on which to sit and meditate in the day ✨🙏🌄

Beautiful 360 view and some trails you can take. Great sunsets.

Todays stormy weather obstructed the view. Great Vista with clean rest rooms, picnic tables, short trails with benches.
Overlook area had a couple horizon finders.

Beautiful view from the crest of the Sierra to the border of Yosemite National Park. Paved road and parking. Picnic tables and grills.

I lived in California for over 40 years and would always plan to come this way but never made it here until now.

The day I visited could not have been more perfect: clear sky, 72° summer day.

What took me by surprise was that in the middle of August there were still patches of snow on the ground about a foot high! It turns out that this area got well over 700 inches of snow in the record setting winter of 2022-2023.

This is definitely a must see, just the drive up Highway 395 on the back side of the Sierras is worth the trip alone.

I'm very pleased that we made the short trip up to see these beautiful mountains. The view from the top is spectacular.

A most amazing feature they should have more places, was a simple pipe mounted on a pivoting base, that was marked with the various peaks names. Simply line it up & look through & you'll quickly learn all of their names.

There is a restroom and picnic tables at the peak of the vista, along with one bbq grill.

Minaret Vista is a beautiful vista point near Mammoth Mountain with beautiful landscape views of the surrounding wilderness, peaks, and valley below. Well worth the detour.

Most excellent place to visit at sundown for pictures during golden hour. Nice hiking near the visit point area. Some well placed benches near the trail head are great for star gazing. Bats seem to come our just after dark here in early summer to eat their fill of mosquitos, but wisdom says repellent should be on the packing list. The vista itself is rather unbelievable and it’s a great opportunity for some excellent panoramic shots.

Great views of east side of the Sierras.

This vista point is right before the entrance to Devils Postpile. A bit out of the way if one is not heading into the national monument, about 6 miles from the main lodge in Mammoth, but we'll worth it for the scenic views and spectacular sunset.

What a view, a must see for the Mammoth lakes area!

Beautiful views, especially in autumn. Limited parking but if you don't mind a short walk you can park down the road. End of season is best time to go; not many people around

the entire drive there could be clear but then entirely foggy and cloudy with zero to minimal visibility once you get there. probably harder to predict good views outside of summer

Just don't go during holidays and you have easy access

Amazing outlook vista, but the road is harsh after a snow storm. This is high altitude at 9000+ ft, be careful of altitude sickness!
