O-Bar-O Cabins

This place is magical. Although minutes from downtown it’s in a whole different world. We stayed at the Ponderosa with a friend. The cabin was clean, cozy, tastefully decorated and equipped with more than you ever would have thought of needing. The property is phenomenal right on the river under the pines. The dappled sunshine on the rocks and many pathways is gorgeous. Swings, chimes, swinging picnic tables, statues, a gong and artwork greet the eye just the right amount. Herb, Natalie and Pearl are welcoming, attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. Definitely a destination for a vacation.

My family surprised my new fiancé and me with a wonderful getaway at O-Bar-O. The owners accommodated our later arrival due to a surprise party for our engagement. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and cozy. There were heated blankets on the bed, a hot tub by the river and complimentary snacks and water on the table. These small details made all the difference! While we were on our way out, one of the owners gave us a very sweet card congratulating us on our engagement signed by all the staff. Their hospitality was unmatched. We will definitely be spending more nights here. I highly recommend the O-Bar-O to everyone who wants to have a delightful true Colorado experience.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and absolutely loved it. We stayed in the Birdsnest which was the perfect size for the two of us. Comfortable bed, large bathroom, huge shower and plenty of room for us to sit and eat or relax. It had everything we needed and more. The grounds around the site were incredibly beautiful and serene. Every night we opened the windows to let in the crisp air and fell asleep to the sound of the nearby river. It was amazing to wake up before dawn and sit outside with a cup of coffee watching the stars twinkle out and the sun come up over the mountains. Wish we lived closer! Herb & Natalie were wonderful hosts, and their pup Pearl was a sweetheart. We can't wait to come back!

These are very beautiful, and very well equipped cabins that are in a very beautiful place. They are right next to the river. The cabins are extremely clean. Some are dog friendly. I have stayed here twice, both with my dog and without him. They are very accommodating to guests with dogs. The owners and staff are very friendly and kind and will chat with you but will also give you plenty of space. It is a short drive from the cabins into Durango. Maybe about 15 minutes. One of my favorite things is getting to see the Milky Way and all the stars at night. There is very little light pollution. There are beautiful handmade benches and tables to sit and enjoy the sound of the river and the woods. A couple things to keep in mind is that there is not any air conditioning. In the summer the loft where the bed is can get uncomfortably warm. Also, in the cabins I have stayed in, there is a spiral staircase leading up to the loft with the bed. The staircase is not practical for a dog. The steps are slick varnished wood. Luckily there is a very comfortable pull out sofa on the main level that solves the problem of keeping your dog near you at night without worrying about the stairs.

Cozy Cabins about 15 minutes north east of Durango. Great for groups. The picturesque creek that runs behind the property sounds soothing and keeps the area pretty cool (the Cabins don't have Air Conditioning).

Absolutely perfect. To start with it was the first time I had done online reservations of a place I have never been to. Was a bit nervous. When we arrived our host was right there, including Pearl. Wonderful people. The place was beautiful. The pictures are absolutely correct. The cabins were amazing with everything you could possibly imagine. Natalie and Herb left nothing to spare. Love the fresh air, the river, the bbqing, and mostly just the peace and quiet. Will definitely be back many times to come. If we could give it more than 5 stars we would. PS, Pearl loves snacks. She is a sweetheart.

We enjoyed a beautiful peaceful week on the river in beautiful Durango CO. Our hosts Herb, Natalie and Pearl (resident pup) were absolutely delightful. The layout of this property is so meaningful. Everything has a place and always has it's guests in mind. This cabin retreat came with a full kitchen plus BBQ pit. We loved being able to cook our breakfast and dinners there with all the amenities you would need. I also wanted to mention how CLEAN and pristine these cabins were. You know this property is well managed and well maintained. We are so grateful to have been able to bring our dogs a long with us. There is even a fenced in dog park to take them potty and for exercise. We will recommend this beautiful piece of paradise to friends and family. Excellent! Cozy cabins that back up to a stream where you can fish for trout. Highly recommended! Durango area is beautiful as is this lodging just 10 mins outside of town. Can’t wait to go back! October is nice when it’s slightly cooler but also the fall colors are gorgeous.

We had a wonderful stay. It’s beautiful quiet and peaceful.
Our cabin was clean and and had everything we needed. They had beautiful fresh flowers in our room upon arrival and a little gift basket of little goodies.

All the cabins are so cute and so comfortable it’s Tucktaway in a perfect location right on the river ! You can relax in the hot tub and listen to the river at the same time! They are dog friendly and the host Herb and Natalie and especially pearl were amazing! We would recommend this place to anyone! Downtown Durango is 15 minutes away or you can take a day Trip and drive To Silverton and Ouray! We stayed four nights should’ve stayed a whole week it was fantastic!!!!

This cabin getaway did not disappoint! The owners are incredible, the cabins are spacious and extremely clean. You can hear the sounds of river from any cabin. We have already referred family and friends to this amazing location. If you're looking for a laid back, comfortable, home away from home feel, this cabin is for you! We would highly recommend these beautiful cabins along side the Florida river. They were very well done from the decor, comfort, & furnishings. Natalie & Herb were wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. The setting is beautiful along side the river with a fire pit & hot tub! Couldn’t ask for better accommodations! We highly recommend and we will be back!

Just had a great time at this amazing rental cabin property. Owners are really nice and it is very apparent they strive to meet the needs of excellence! Cabin was spotless- no dirt and not musty at all. High quality cabin and the goodies/supplies they give to their customers....top notch!! The grounds are very very clean. The owners definitely know how humans really love their dogs and have a wonderful dog run/park area. They even had clean bowls out for each dog ready for them in the cabin....didn't need to bring the bowls from home. The river is less than a minute from the back deck was very cool to listen to and watch. Ultimately- a Top Notch Cabin rental company, run by two very professional and expert owners.

So welcoming right at check in. Great communication right at the beginning and throughout the booking. Beautiful cabin and grounds to enjoy.! The most amazing stars I have ever seen. Relaxing and peaceful! Had some great cookouts, fire, and enjoyed the Jacuzzi. Not far from a grocery store and downtown Durango! You will not be disappointed creating memories in this beautiful cabin! Thank you for our stay!!

Just visited O-Bar-O for a wedding and loved it. We were there for 5 nights and it was wonderful. I will most definitely be back when I will have more time to just sit and relax. (Helped with wedding setup so 'worked' a lot.) Can't wait to go back and just chillax by the flowing river behind the cabins and read a book or just enjoy the beauty of the natural surroundings. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I are thrilled! Very clean, beautiful grounds, the best host and don't forget Pearl! The fly fishing is superior, nice size browns! We will definitely return!

If you're looking for a serene, well-appointed cabin in a beautiful spot, come to the O-Bar-O. The owners (Herb and Natalie) provide true hospitality and made us feel very welcome. The beds and linens are especially nice, and in these strange COVID times, the meticulously cleaned cabins are much appreciated. The kitchens are nicely stocked with the tools you'll need for cooking, including somewhat esoteric items such as a garlic press. And the grounds are well maintained with comfortable chairs waiting for you on the banks of the Florida River.

We just spent the 4th of July weekend at O-Bar-O Cabins. It was fabulous! Property was clean, cute and offered pure relaxation. They thought of every detail for our family needs down to our dog. We will definately be back.

Absolutely a beautiful area with quaint and clean cabins. The owners Make you feel like you are part of the family. My husband and I are already planning our next trip back. If you are looking for an experience I would absolutely recommend O-Bar-O. It's way more than just somewhere to stay it's an awesome place to vacation!!!

Great cabins on the Florida River! My wife and I loved everything about this place. Well-kept cabins, beautiful scenery, and everything you need for a perfect stay is provided for you. The owners are super friendly and very accommodating, and the delicious cookies at check-in were a nice touch. They even let us borrow a kennel for our pup while we took the ride out to Mesa Verde! They have a fire pit and hot tub for the guests to use, and cooking steaks on our private BBQ in the backyard next to the river felt like being at home. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again next time we are in the Durango area!
