Located in of Mammoth Lakes, California, lies Vulcania (right in the village). I had a fantastic Saturday night dinner here. I loved the rigatoni and ravioli bolognese (filled with lamb) both were amazing. Brooke was our server and she was great. Fast service and food orders. I enjoyed my evening.

The fresh salad, homemade bread and calamari were delicious. The ravioli lamb bolognese was one of the top pasta dishes I have ever had. Top it all off with amazing service and ambiance it was an amazing apres ski experience. Voltaggio Bros are genius!

My husband and I ate here last night. We arrived very early for a dinner reservation and they accommodated us and sat us quickly. We ordered an aperol spritz, Cesar salad and the lamb bolognese ravioli. The Cesar, as many people mentioned, was great - one of the best ones I’ve had. The lamb bolognese ravioli was suggested by our server and a great recommendation. It was a unique take on a ricotta filled ravioli that was delicious.

During our visit the service was excellent. Every employee greeted us in passing, food came out super quick, and our server was friendly and personable. On a weird observational note, it’s clear a lot of thought went into this space. All the water glasses were heavy, crystal Riedel glasses and the glass my spritz was served in was of equally high quality. There were a lot of design touches that were beautiful and lended to an overall modern aesthetic.

We’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to friends/family if they’re coming to Mammoth!

Food and drinks were out of this world. I had better pasta and pizza here than I had in Italy! Loved the Pumpkin Pie pizza and the Shrimp Scampi and of course the Tricolore Salad. Highly recommended.

Next time you're in Mammoth Mountain for be it winter sports or their film festival, come to Vulcania at the Village, because: Italian food family style but make it molecular gastronomy. Leave it to the Voltaggio brothers to create and deliver the flavors of some classic dishes with a modern, playful twist for your tastebuds. The interior is very open and there is an island of a fully stocked bar for those Apres ski needs!

We had: Caprese (burrata, concentrated tomatoes, pesto, aged balsamic), Voltaggi-O's (annelini pasta, tomato gravy, & a giant meatball), Chicken Parmesan (marinara, aerated Parmesan, arugula, fennel), and Tiramisu (chocolate ganache, coffee-amaro syrup, liquid lady finger, aerated crème fraiche)

Our server was extremely knowledgeable of all the dishes and attentive to our table: we mentioned that we had a limited time here and she made sure we had a complete dining experience without feeling rushed.

To start of we tried the SMOKED MOZZARELLA FRITTA and the flavor was nice a rich and the marinara sauce complement it well. Once you finish the Fritta you can request the locally baked bread to finish up the rest of the marinara.

CAESAR salad was amazing the dressing is made in house and the flavor is truly one of a kind. If you like Caesar then don't hesitate to order it to set your appetite.

For the main course I tried the BRACIOLE. The presentation and the flavor of the steak to be honest is one of the best tasting steak I have ever had. The polenta fonduta really brings out the richness and flavor of the steak. The broccoli was perfectly crisp and not soggy like you would normally get at other steak houses. If you love steak then give it a try, it might be one of the best tender and flavor steak you might taste.

We finished our meal and everything was going great. Great appetizer, salad, steak. Well we figured we should end this amazing dinner with a bite of the dessert and a cappuccino. So we ordered the tiramisu. This is were things went south quick. When you think tiramisu, you would think like soft delightful dessert. When it arrived at the table I thought they where trying to be clever and do a deconstruct tiramisu. The first spoonful was what the fudge is this because that is exactly how I would describe it, fudge with frozen powered sugar and 3 large pieces of hard candy. It was such a great disappointment that it almost made me forget how good the steak was. Not unless you like fudge don't order the tiramisu because it is nowhere near what you would call a tiramisu.

The overall environment was great and the service was awesome. The steak is one of the best I have ever tasted but no matter what don't order the tiramisu.

We essentially come to Mammoth on our way back from Lake Tahoe yesterday (5/30)just to eat here, and it exceeded expectations!

All the staff were friendly and helpful and excited for us to try the new summer menu items. We sat at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and made our anniversary dinner special.
The food:
The rye gnoccheti was fresh, earthy, and vibrant!
Smoked Mozzarella Sticks were nostalgic and awesome. The vat of marinara under it was a great compliment to the smokey large cheesy heavenly bite!
Eggplant Lasagna with the amazing foam and smoky sauce- it felt light but hearty.
Chicken Parmigiana- crispy, refreshing take on an old classic. Smothered in the light cheesy parmesan foam and the fresh arugula brought it home.
Tiramisu- literally the best tiramisu either my husband and I have had.

Decor: really gorgeous. The marble or quartz bar that was illuminated is just stunning and a great center piece for the clean but elevated interior. The outdoor igloo domes were really cool and I can see it being a neat dining experience in the winter!

I'm actually surprised by the reviews but because we came on the off season we didn't experience the high volume service. We had great service and a great experience and will come back.

Mammoth Lakes needed this!
We have family here so we visit often and were so delighted to have a new restaurant in town that offers upscale dining.

We had the Rigatoni Arrabbiata was not a traditional sauce and it was so delicious! We scraped all the sauce with bread and meat, we couldn't get enough. We also ordered a cacio e pepe, which is not on the menu but what Italian restaurant would refuse to make it? It was very good but it had more oil than the way we like it, so this is just a personal preference. We love it with more parmigiano and pecorino, but it was a really well prepared dish. The pastas on both dishes were of course al dente, as it should be.

The Braciole.... that was also a delightful dish, so well prepared.

And the Brûlée Cheecake, we could have eaten 3 more. I've never had croquant cheesecake, what a brilliant idea.

We are so happy there's a new kid in town with upscale food, vibe and service.

Thank you to the Voltaggio Brothers!

We were looking for an early dinner and wanted to try this place out after sampling other establishments around. The food is meant to be shared, but the portions are normal sized.

We (2 adults) had the Caesar salad, salumi pizza, and lamb ravioli bolognese. For drinks, we had Paloma, clover club, and oil slick. Everything was fantastic. The bolognese was star of meal. The 3 cocktails were well flavored and tasty. We had enough food to take leftovers home.

Our server, Isabella, was attentive and gave great suggestions. We were pleased with all of them.

Highly recommend you go here while in town. You won’t regret it. Next time we’ll have to try the dessert.

Vulcania is a great addition to Mammoth! The food, atmosphere, cocktails, and service were great! Would highly recommend the tricolore salad, fungi pizza, and octopus.
We had reservations and they were very accommodating on our location of seating with a baby. Excited to go back!

I really don't understand the poor reviews for food. We ordered a very large variety of items and everything was delicious. My personal favorite was the fungi pizza! We also got to sit in the outside bubble which added to the atmosphere, but didn't detract at all from the service.

Excited to try out this new place in Mammoth. A big step up from the old Campo. Felt like a chic upscale restaurant with dimmed lights, cool bar area and leather chairs.

Loved the small plates such as carrots with stracciatella cheese and Brussels sprout salad that was 10/10! Ended with the hangar steak that had garlic and parsley garnish, very yummy!

They’re still figuring out a few kinks around the timing of service + gluten free options, but overall very excited to see an American / Italian spot of this caliber open up in mammoth!

I loved their cheese ravioli so much, I went back every night of my stay to try a new pasta dish. The service was helpful and friendly. I liked the wine selection. The ambiance is relaxing and inviting. I don’t like their tiramisu since admittedly it’s the chef’s take on tiramisu and not tiramisu per se and I personally didn’t like it.

Feel the need to leave a review so this place stays in Mammoth for me to enjoy for the coming years. Food is delicious, atmosphere is great ( get a hut if you can) and a great addition to the restaurants in Mammoth. For those who complain about price remember getting quality ingredients to remote mountain towns probably isn’t cheap and the rent at a prime location like that probably isn’t cheap either.

It's so good there wasn't any left but this small piece! We had the caprese and the Italian wedge. The Italian wedge was nitrogen infused so while we were eating it melted so delightfully into the dressing really great 👍. The caprese tomatoes were sweet and in the pesto sauce! So good!

Dined here twice and both times were excellent. Attentive service, delicious food & drinks, and cool ambiance. Don't pay attention to these bad reviews as they were probably left by bitter people who didn't get to dine here when they should have made a reservation. I hope to come back with a bigger group so we can try everything.

My family and I love Vulcania! Everything from the appetizers to the entrees to the dessert has been delicious! The kids love the pastas and my husband and I can’t get enough of their Caesar. The service has always been great, and we visit this place every other weekend all winter long. Glad to have a quality place to eat in the village!
