Happy Meadows Campground

Went to relax by the river for the day. Didn't camp here as it was full but had a wonderful time. The river is beautiful and relaxing. You can tube down it, fly fish, or just relax and enjoy the views and sounds of the water. Definitely a good time.

We drove by & the gate was locked. The date is December 19th. It looked very clean. Maybe a dozen sites. The Platte/Tarryall river is flowing with ice gently drifting in it. Nice hiking trail not to far from the campground.

Ironic that the loudest people in the campground where the camp hosts. Seem to argue a lot, but the campground itself was really good. That parole guy was out there raking every lot after everybody left. Super cute. The river is awesome!

Very nice mellow river, tons of friendly polite people. The scenery is gorgeous. My first time was a few weeks ago. Already have another trip planned. Can't wait. Highly recommend it. Plus paved highway almost the whole way up there, very little dirt road to travel on!

Stumbled upon this jewel of a place. Not crowded--only 7 or 8 campsites, the S. Platte river flowing behind the sites. Serene and beautiful. Well maintained bathroom and water pump. Very generous and helpful host who lent us the tarp off his woodpile to serve as a rain fly, which we forgot, when storms were threatening.

Had a great time here with my friends, we love to float the river. Camp host was very nice, other campers were friendly too. Thanks for dealing with our shenanigans!

This is the best float river. We try and come here at least a few times each summer. It's not over crowded and people are very polite if you do bump into them. We think of it as a Zen meadow.

This is our favorite place to camp. It has a river to float and a mountain to climb. Plus it's small and less people. Just ended our 13th year here. Oh and the camp hosts Cliff & Alice are great!

We had the absolute best time!

Celebrated 4th of July and my birthday at Happy Meadows Campground, and can't wait for our next trip there. We enjoyed a wonderful stay.

Been coming here since long before it was a pay site, never did well fishing myself, even as a kid I never caught anything unless it was on flies but it is by far one of my top 3 camping spots, despite the easy access and pay status it has now... The feel of the surroundings, hiking, and early morning dew and wildlife visits make the stay well worth while... As for the other idiots who may like to be stupid around there, we are after all in the Zombie Apocalypse, but these zombies chill out after a stern but polite confrontation.

I love this quaint, clean, happy camping place. Easy pull in spots, tent camping, fire pits, right along the river. There's hiking and fishing spots everywhere around. Plus it's close to a small town where you can buy the necessities. Great place for families.

My family has coming to this campground since my grandparents were teens. Always been a tradition to come at least twice a year. Love everything about this place

Best camping site. Well maintained and sleeping next to the river is perfect. The river is great for fishing and tubing. Can't wait to go back!!

It was very beautiful atmosphere.. people are really nice.. the camp host was super ..an the restrooms are clean .

Campsite 7 at Happy Meadows was next to the restrooms and had River access. We all had a great time.

Beautiful area. Fun fishing. Great family outing. Camp ground does seem to stay fully booked.
