Larry Royston's Septic Services

My house was built in 1945 and I had to have all of my sewer line replaced recently. I contracted Royston Septic Services to replace approximately 50ft of Orangeburg pipe in my yard and across a neighboring lot that had mostly collapsed.

My experience with Royston Septic Services was excellent. I felt they maintained an appropriate level of communication throughout the project, contacted va811 (miss utility) and pulled permits as expected, and completed the work as outlined in the agreed upon timeframe.

P.S.A. If you own an older home (especially in town), look for a Service Line endorsement on your home owners insurance policy that covers water/sewer/power/etc lines between your house and the utility.

Martins’s pumping has serviced my house and my parents’ house for many years and always do a great job. We had the sewer pipe replaced underneath our house last year, and running the final leg out to the septic tank and getting a new inlet baffle / tee was the final part of the replacement. I scheduled the appointment a month in advance. They came out on time the day they were supposed to, but the repair was much more involved than originally thought.

My sewer pipe had partially collapsed right behind the inlet baffle, and for this reason they needed more parts and more work. They were honest and up front and called me that day and told me they couldn’t do the repair that day because of the additional work. But they promised to come back the next day (yesterday), and they did, in 90 degree sweltering heat. They did the whole job in a few hours and left no mess, and was very respectful of the property.

I wish I would have used Larry Royston to do my whole sewer job at once as opposed to the other plumbing service I used, but lesson learned. I highly recommend Larry Royston / Martins Pumping service!

Left my yard a complete mess. Broken old pipe, left roots and huge clumps of sod with no intention of coming back. We had to call several times and they finally came out and did out straw and seed but did a poor job of it. Would not recommend them to install a garden hose.

I am not one to write reviews, but this has to be written. I sold a house in Front Royal Va. Larry Roystons Septic Service was to do an inspection as part of the selling process. Not only did they break both Dbox lids, and not cover back up the wholes dug. They also dug three more wholes trying to guess where the other tank were located. Thankfully my father pulled up as they were doing it and demanded they stop and showed them where to dig. I went to closing paid a septic invoice, which is in the closing documents and now they are sending me another bill for $425.00.
Saying if I do not pay it, they will charge me $50 additionally each month.
My suggestion, if you have another septic or pluming option, go with them, NOT Larry Royston's or Martins plumbing service!

Scheduled 1st appoint and they were a no show. When I called them the following day to see what happened, they had no idea who I was. Rescheduled another appointment after explaining what I needed help with a second time. Again, a no show. They did leave voicemails to confirm the appointment but I didn't pick them up until after the fact. I didn't need them to call and confirm because at that point I had been waiting for 2 months since my original appointment. Nonetheless, I was willing to give them another chance but they won't answer the phone or return my messages.
