We were on the island all week last week and ate here at the end of the week. It was the best food we had all week! The restaurant was super clean! Our waitress, Anna, was wonderful! The coconut grouper and truffle fries were delicious!

NICE ATMOSPHERE. Not busy Sunday evening. Decent ambience and attentive staff. Good kids menu and a good place for families. Burgers and wings were a hit with the teens. One teen remarked it was the best burger he had! Pasta with marinara sauce for the younger one. The mahi sandwich was certainly alright. Not the best I’ve had but not bad. Overall, it was a close bet for 5 stars but I gave Cip’s the benefit of the doubt.

What a great place! We met a couple of friends for dinner last night and we had a great meal and a great time! Our friends had the triple tail fresh catch special and they both devoured it and the fresh clipped green beans that came with it! My beautiful wife had the enchilada stack that had just the right heat and was amazing and she cleaned her plate! As for me, I had the Rigatoni Bologenese with sausage, beef and bacon in a creamy tomato Bologenese sauce and the sunset shrimp appetizer! The shrimp was in a red sauce that had just the right amount of heat to it and it was a generous portion! All in all it was a great night with friends and chef Danny did an amazing job! Thanks!

Very family oriented. Beautiful and elegant but at the same time with a relaxed ambiance. Perfect to visit with family. There are rabbits around to spot and have find while waiting for food to come. Service and food are amazing. They offered fresh bread pretzel like which was delicious. I highly recommend the bbq ribs. Clam chowder has a quite different taste than the original, a bit sour but very interesting and original. Definitely looking forward to visit this place again when visiting Sanibel Island.

The short: If you are reading this... Just set your gps and go. You won't be disappointed. Everything is amazing.

The long: I called ahead to ask if there was "a wait" because it was a holiday weekend. The hostess asked me how far away I was and i told her 6.8 miles at the marriott and we are 2 adults and a baby. She put me on hold for a minute to take a look around and when she came back she said "I have a table, i will save you inside, see you when you get here." In my home town 6.8 miles is about 10 minutes but in sleepy Sanibel it was closer to 20 minutes. The parking lot was packed and I got a little nervous. We parked and start walking. The front of the restaurant has a beautiful entrance and of course i had to take a few photos for my review.
We are greeted by the hostess, an older woman and as i looked around, the place was full. I gave her my name and she said "right this way!". The table was on the opposite side of the bar which was perfect because it gave us plenty of space to feel save in this "covid19" era.
We were greeted by the server and after her recommendation we decided to try the coconut grouper appetizer. Let me pause for a minute and tell you, they were amazing. I have spent a lot of time eating coconut grouper in the Florida keys and this was up there with the best of them.
We also tried a few of the drinks from their specialty drink menu. One was a mango and something (I'm tired, maybe i remember tomorrow) fruit martini that was literally perfect. It wasnt overpowering with vodka and it wasnt too sweet from juice. It was the perfect blend for a pair of travelers looking to relax. The top shelf margarita was also just as amazing. Normally at most restaurants they advertise grand marnier but you never actually taste it. This also was the perfect blend of tequila, sweet and sour and grand marnier.
My wife decided she didnt want to eat too heavy because we are going to the beach tomorrow. I stayed quiet and said ok. She ordered the fish tacos and I ordered the shrimp cipriani pasta. Now, for the record. I never order pasta but there was something about the description that was calling my name. I dont know what it was but something about... pancetta, roasted garlic, sundried tomato pesto and artichoke hearts. finished with cream was calling my name....

One bite was all it took and i was in love....

This was probably the best pasta dish, i have had in my last 15 years. Now, thru college i worked at many high end restaurants to pay for school and many had some very rich pastas but the blend of flavors blew my mind. The pancetta wasn't thin slices that disappear in the sauce, they were similar to small lego blocks that were hearty bites with the pasta and shrimp. I could talk about this dish for quite some time but i know you will stop reading so i will continue.
The fish tacos were two large soft tacos which looked like around 7 ozs of mahi in total (i didnt ask, just an observation) and my wife was very happy and so was i.

As we enjoyed our meal i asked for another drink, one from their specialty menu and while i don't remember the name, it was made with some sort of cake flavored vodka. Let me tell you... it may be a little too sweet for most people but i had no cravings for dessert afterwards so it did it's job. Hahaha. I will try to replicate this drink at my daughter's next birthday party it was so good.

I could write more but this was a very enjoyable evening and as much as i hate to visit the same restaurant twice in one quick visit. I feel i must come back for more of that pasta and different drinks from their specialty menu. Come check it out. It will be worth the visit.

We love to sit out on the deck. A 4:30 seating is best, and reservations are even better. One of us ordered Ginger Shrimp Stir Fry, the other the Shrimp Salad. Both were on the Six by Six menu. $12 each if ordered by 6 pm. Also ordered Afternoon Appetizer of Capiese Pizatta for $5. Basically a Caprese Pizza. All items were FABULOUS. We would definitely recommend Cips Place.

Wonderful experience each time my family has dined at Cips over many years. Always wonderful friendly staff and the food is delicious and worth every penny. The outdoor and garden seating feels very safe during covid and service is still great, they also have propane heaters so you can dine outside when it's cool. Good for families and groups of any size. Really can't go wrong here ❤

From the woman that answered the phone to the bartender that gave me my carry out order, every single person I encountered was very friendly and professional. The coconut cheesecake (Gluten free) was the best dessert I’ve ever eaten. The inside of the restaurant is decorated so nice! This is a new stop for us when we vacation.

Fantastic American family run seafood restaurant located near downtown Sanibel Island. A wall of stories are painted on a mural, just ask Dave to tell you all about them. Enjoy local caught fresh fish, shrimp, and other shell fish in a cozy casual dining room or outdoors on the wrap around patio that overlooks a lush tropical garden that Southern Floridians enjoy. I'd recommend the Cips Chips for starters, The Simple Side Salad, Cioppino or the Shrimp Cipriani and share the sweetness of a Whiskey Pecan Pie.

Cips a wonderfully relaxing choice for dining on Sanibel Island. Set back from the road, surrounded with lovely landscaping, it very peaceful. We always dine al fresco with our dogs.
Among some our favorites is the Rice and Salmon Salad and the Mahi BLT. Once we relaxed with a drink and a plate of Cips Chips - excellent .

Comfortable dining choice. Good variety of entrees and drinks. Service was friendly and gave good recommendations. For Sanibel dining it is a pleasant option. Would be a good choice even if not on a beautiful island.

Follow-up: We came back, a year later, and had another outstanding meal. The island was suffering from a horrific red tide situation, so the number of tourists was much reduced. Cip’s therefore wasn’t very busy, and we felt like we were getting personal service. Great place, and we hope it and the other area businesses survive the environmental nightmare that is occurring.

Great food and serviced. My wife wanted a chocolate martini which the server said was not available but manager overheard the server and said he could accomodate the request my wife said it was the best she ever had. The server was apologetic and otherwise was great. Not the first time here and food remains excellent

I haven't even got to the restaurant to pickup my order, and I feel I need to express the great customer service I received on the phone this evening with the server "Matt".. not only was he courteous and helpful but went out of his way to accommodate my dietary issues, as I've been going thru treatments the last few months, I'm limited on what I can eat, I had wanted the vegetable fettuccine, but they did not have that available this evening, instead he was great by suggesting some other pasta options I could eat, I ended up ordering a (not on the menu) pasta with olive oil& garlic and bread on side, which I appreciate so much.. and from past dining here.. I already know the food will be delicious, and the ribs and scalloped potatoes ordered also "great.. if all the employees are like Matt, he alone deserves 5 stars plus.. I can think of some at places here I've dined at that could take some lessons, so" again I say"..thank you, and here's wishing Cips' a prosperous and great New Year""..

Relaxed atmosphere, incredibly friendly service, and island appeal. After perusing dozens of reviews, our family decided on Cip's and we were not disappointed.

Generous servings at reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back in the future!

What a great find as my girlfriend and I were biking by!
Not only did we have happy hour there but it was so amazing, we came back for dinner!

For appetizers we had probably the best clams in a garlic broth I've ever had! We ordered another one! And yes! Great sauce to dip or should i say soak! the garlic toast in!

Fantastic happy hour fro. 4-6pm with a 6 for $6 choices from the main menu

Dinner..AMAZING! We split a tuna poke app. Perfectly fresh!

Next we split a fresh garden salad..nothing to write home about but we felt we needed something healthy before a cream sauce filled dinner.

Our main dish was shrimp cipriani. Goodness! I hated sharing..

Lastly, for dessert, we had pecan pie and key lime pie. Again amazing! The pecan pie didnt have that wierd gel so it wasn't sweet overload and the key lime pie was refreshing with a wonderful crust.

A special mention to our server was Sarah. What a doll! Not only was she our server during happy hour but she was our server for dinner so we bonded!

Excellent service! Thank you for a memorable evening for two moms on "the run"

I went there for dinner with a friend and we loved the food: fried calamari, shrimp pasta (Cipriani) and salmon oscar. We ate on the backyard terrace and the view was very charming. Thanks to the staff for the great service.

Cip's Place has excellent seafood. I loved my grilled swordfish and my husband said his blackened scallops and pasta were the best he's ever eaten!
