Good Golly! Amazing Food and Service! I tried the Cher Loves Bob Marley bowl and all the flavors are amazing. Enough food for 2 people! The wife tried a bunch of sides and enjoyed everything. Can’t speak highly enough of the food and service. If you haven’t been here you are missing out.

Ya just got to try it to appreciate how great the food is. Super nice owner and staff. Great lunch place. Quick service too.

Went a second time while in the area. Tried the jumbo wings. Turns out they are xl jumbo. Super filling. Great service. Cool owner n team. Will continue coming back n brining friends n family.

This place is AMAZING! It is a family owned and ran restaurant. We drove up from Charlotte to meet family and they recommended this place and boy, what a great choice! If you love Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese, Yams, you MUST order them. I had the deep fried ribs and my husband had the honey fried chicken. I truly don't think there is a bad item on their menu. This restaurant is a MUST GO but they do close at 7pm so don't come late!

I went here for dinner last night and it was delicious. The honey chicken was AWESOME, the chicken was juicy and had good flavor, and the skin despite having honey drizzled on it was crispy until the very last piece. The Mac and Cheese was delicious as well, very well seasoned, and you could tell it was homemade. The Collard Greens were good, but I felt they had too much butter, the bites where less butter wound up were better than the bites that had more, other than that the turkey gave them a good flavor, and they were cooked long enough for the stems to get tender. Server was very friendly, and refilled my Coke Zero. Looking forward to coming back and trying those candy yams, as well as some of the other menu items. The only thing I wish was that there was an option to only get two pieces of chicken, instead of four, for people like me who don’t need 4 pieces and 2 sides to get full. Prices were good as well.

THE FOOD IS AMAZING and large portion sizes!!! The Denver location could use some remodel on the interior (old booths etc.) but the food is to die for. If you can get past that and just review the food, it was awesome. Will definitely be returning to support this local family business <3

We ate here for the first time tonight and it was wonderful and we have found a new favorite place to eat!!

My Husband and I both had the pork chops but his sides were the Mac-n-chez and Corn and I had the collards and Fries and everything came out hot and fresh so The Collards were amazing as was the Corn and Mac-n-chez plus the Fries were great to and the rice was also great I just could not eat it all because I was so engrossed in my collards anyways we will definitely be back and we will definitely recommend Hot Plate Eatery to all we know...

The food here is fantastic, hands down. The cajun seasoning is like magic or something. The plantains are perfect and I would definitely recommend trying them. I had the shrimp plate (it was three different types, cajun, booed up, and something else) and it was amazing. Definitely one of the best soul food places I've ever been. The atmosphere is really fun, and the staff is super sweet and friendly. Even when they're struggling they still do their best to get what you need.

Glad my wife found this place at the last minute. Love the fact that its Black Owned and to top it all off the food was AMAZING! We had the Jerk Chicken plate and the Rib Plate. Plenty of food, Mac was melt N Yo Mouth! My wife fell in love with the Collards and Cabbage, veggies are usually a miss with her. She did her dance with Every Bite. We were baffled with how good and flavorful the Fried Chicken Wings were, It was the crisp, and freshness for us. I need those fry techniques. Will Definitely be revisiting and looking forward to their growth. My 11mo. Old daughter clapped when she tried the Yams! She Approves!

This is 100% the best restaurant in Gastonia. I will be back even though I live in South Carolina. The yams are a must have. They wouldn’t tell me their secret recipe!! I don’t even like yams, but these were addictive!! We tried a lot of the food(smothered pork chops, cauliflower, salmon, and fried chicken) and everything was DELICIOUS!!! If I could trade out my aunties for whoever is cooking back there, I would!

This is a fairly new place I believe that have been open for about 5 months now maybe longer. I had wanted to visit this place since it was open but didn't have a chance until last month. Let me begin with the service.

Service: Due to Covid-19 and being a new restaurant they were short stuff. But the service was still fast and our server was nice. The owner even came out and introduced himself.

Food&Prices: The food is delicious and flavorful, the portions is good and the price reflects that. I didn't take any pictures but I got their fried chicken that came in a sweet and spicy sauce(can remember the actual name), it came with 4 pieces of chicken with 2 sides. I believe the price was 15 and some change. My husband got the ox tail, my FIl&MIL got the salmon bites and something else and my sister got the something as me.

Everything that we order was great, and they have there own juice/tea that they make which is also really good.

They do serve breakfast but you have to check on there Facebook to see when.

Decor: The place is very will decorated. They have these morden ,industrial farmhouse kinda vibe going on with he wood tables and metal chairs.

Overall experience I highly recommend you give this place a try. Will not disappoint. You get what you pay for.

I thought it was going to be more cafeteria-style, but everything is made to order. They had some interesting juice drinks as well. My salmon was quite tasty, and my husband's wings had a lot of meat on them.

Our first visit.. This is a 💎 Gem to Gastonia, NC-- Awesome location. Great soul food and excellent customer service. My daughter and I had the pleasure of having the owner daughter as a waitress.. She was so friendly and attentive. The owner stopped by our table to make sure everything was straight and we enjoyed that.. (Thank you Sir for everything) We were told July 20th they will have karaoke 🎤 and a bar added. This is a Family and Black owned business. MUST put on your to do List!!!!!

This is some REAL SOUL FOOD. Any form of chicken you get here is gonna be absolutely juicy and flavorful, but the hotplate chicken was top tier. Bussin out the box, dudes. Treat yourself to anything on the menu here, the cooks KNOW what they doing. Wait staff seems like they don't know what they're doing or just plain don't care about their job it seems. Gladly since they were never around to check on us it didn't spoil the experience. GET THE SWEET WATER.

Awesome eats. Food was really good and fresh. Reminds me of my grandma southern cooking. Thanks for yall hospitality. Family owned is really what it feels like here. Love the unique names on the menu as well. I will be back

Hubby and I wanted some soul food and this gem came up. It was absolutely Delicious! The mac and cheese was buss'n and the honey fried chicken was lip smacking good. Hubby had the rib and it was tender and oh so delicious. We will definitely be back to taste the banana pudding and bbq oxtails. No pictures because I dug in immediately and didnt stop lol.
