The Market Place "Not Just a Sandwich"

First time going to the market place and I’ll say right off the bat they do a lot of things right here —

The restaurant itself is very nice and “homey” if you will… Good ambience, very spacious inside. There’s a lot of nice decorations, and paintings for sale from (I assume) local artists. In the lady’s bathroom there’s a lot of religious art work and scripture related things, which I really liked. The outdoor seating is great as well. Over all “The Market Place” has a lot of personality

My husband and I ordered 2 smoothies, the bacon and brei sandwhich, the roast beef sandwhich, the chicken salad croissant, and lastly a piece of cheesecake and chocolate cake (we were hungry in our defense haha) Upon checking in on yelp, we were also awarded with a free chocolate chip cookie!

The sandwiches here are a definite 5 stars, and personally I highly recommend the bacon and brei. My husband and I were definitely more than satisfied. The wait staff here is also 5 stars. We were attended by nearly all the servers, as they do a shared tip/order system. Quick story - My husband ordered the monkeys breakfast smoothie, to which they informed us they didn’t have anymore bananas so he would just be getting peanut butter, milk, and oats. He decided to order it anyway and the staff went out of their way to make sure he knew what he was ordering. They even made it, and let him sample it so he could decided if he liked it or not free or charge.

In the spirit of full transparency IF I had to say ONE thing that wasn’t 5 star about this restaurant, it would be how long it took to get our sandwiches…. There weren’t too many people when we arrived, and we noticed that a table that sat down about 10 minutes after us, got their meal before we did. Since this was our first time and I like to air towards the positive, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume there was good reason for this, but because everything else was so great I’m going to give them the 5 stars. Overall good experience and great service ☺

I arrived early for an appointment and decided to grab some lunch.

The menu is simple, but the looked like a enough selection of sandwiches, soup, coffee, and some desserts.

I had the lunch special of 1/2 sandwich + soup + chips.
The bacon brie sandwich was awesome! Over flow with perfectly cooked 🥓 The berry ham wasn't that spicy and was a perfect pair with the brie.
The Wisconsin cheddar soup was flavorful and yum!

Only negative was spoon for the soup weren't given automatically nor were napkins.

Otherwise the staff was friendly and the food was great! I'm definitely coming back and plan to get some of the tasty cheddar piminiento to go.

The owner Luke as well as chef Ana and team were absolutely wonderful with hosting my friends baby shower. They went above and beyond expectations and we couldn’t have been happier. Please contact them for any event needs!

Food was excellent. Noticed the waitress only catered to some people and ignored others refills even when I waved at her. Owner was awesome

The entire experience was fantastic! I savored the chicken and tuna salads alongside unsweetened tea. As I was finishing my meal, I couldn't resist ordering a croissant. I'm willing to drive an hour and a half to explore more of their menu on my next visit. The attentive staff and prompt food service made it all the more enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience. I can’t wait until you open a location closer to me in the Triangle!

This is one of the best and most friendly family owned restaurant in Pinehurst! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, Luke goes above and beyond to ensure every custom is taken care of and feel welcome. Everything on the menu is delicious! Including the new pizza they are offering! Oh yeah, and the dessert is to DIE FOR! (lemon bars are my favorite) Don't forget to download the App for easy takeout!

Great time of year to sit on the patio with a bowl of their Chilli. Easy to find parking readily available. Usually seated right away. Kid friendly.

We rented the space on a Saturday in June 2023 for a celebration for my brother. We had just over 100 people at the event. The windows allowed lots of light from outside and the patio seating was integral in giving additional options for seating and a place for the littler ones to roam around. We received multiple compliments on the food and the venue. Everything went perfectly. Luke was easy to work with, very accommodating, gave great advise on purchasing items for the event and quick to respond to any questions. The day of the event, Ana was great in many ways and at communicating how we were on food and beverage supplies and how we were doing on time . All around, a great experience and I'm so thankful to have found the venue for our event. Thank you!

The food is fantastic. I’ve had their Reuben (multiple times) and roast beef and Brie. I leave fat and happy every time!
The staff, music, out door seating, and decor are all wonderful!

Top 5 favorite restaurant in the county, and for sure favorite sandwich spot!

LOVE The Market Place! Always consistent, my go-to’s are the Bacon Club & Chicken Salad sandwiches on croissants...but my newest fav is the pretzel with pimiento cheese 😋 so yummy, definitely add this place to your Breakfast/Lunch rotation. Oh, and the special tea is 💯

This restaurant was wonderful! My family ate here and we all loved our food. The atmosphere was darling (we especially loved the courtyard area on the patio) and the customer service was impeccable. Definitely recommend eating here. We were in town for a long weekend and ended up coming back it was so good. My favorite thing was the Berry Berry smoothie. It was delicious!!!

What a fantastic lunch spot! We ordered a huge order for our office (15-20). Everyone received everything they ordered, every box was labeled with who it belonged to and everyone loved their food! I was HIGHLY impressed with the quality and service our office received. Thank you The Market Place! If you haven't eaten here yet you have got to try it out!

Ordered take out and it was a little slow to get my order but food was fresh, staff was friendly and food was tasty.

Ok food, pretty good coffee, we like the atmosphere. Too pricey for simple food.

Very pleasant atmosphere, personal service and amazing home cooked food at a very reasonable price.

Love the service, and the food. They have the most delicious chicken salad sandwich and a delectable Wisconsin cheddar cheese soup that just warms my heart thinking of it. I'd highly recommend this restaurant if sandwiches are your thing.

This place would get more stars if there were more to give! Hands down the BEST place to eat breakfast or lunch in Moore Co! I have been frequently going to The Market Place for awhile now. The staff is super friendly and always making sure the guest are well taken care of. Luke, the owner, is there all the time and makes sure to greet and chat with everyone who enters through his doors. I have always felt welcomed and well taken care of and left beyond full! If there is something not on the lunch menu, they will make it anyways if you request it. My favorite is the Bacon and Brie!

First time eating here. The roast beef sandwich is absolutely amazing. Got mine without the mustard; compared to with mustard, it is perfect without it. Amazing meat, amazing bread, amazing cheese, super clean, awesome servers, owner is the best!!!!! DO NOT PASS IT UP!

Great local spot with a variety of options. Have had a majority of their sandwiches by way of catered lunches at work and each one has been delicious. All the one star reviews seem to be solely due to political stance rather than the quality of the restaurant and food itself….

Outstanding local restaurant! The atmosphere is quaint and the staff and service is amazing. Extremely clean environment. The roast beef and brie croissant sandwich is the best in the county. The soups....all amazing. We have been visiting for a couple years and it is still a local favorite! Definitely check it out!
