Dave has maintained and repaired all my yard and garden equipment for years and not only are his prices more than reasonable, he's honest.
Great to have someone as knowledgeable and fair in town

Worked with me to fix an old mower that probably wasn't worth his time. Didn't overcharge or push me into more work than I wanted. Lucky to have him in Burnsville!

Fortunately I haven’t dealt with this guy on small engine. I have dealt with him in his construction business. I will sum this up quick and easy. Do not hire this guy.

1. He took the money and ran. He didn’t finish the contract job we had. He even asked me for more money to pay his guys. Keep in mind if you work for him you aren’t guaranteed to be paid. I personally know 2 guys that worked for him that wasn’t paid.

2. His quality of craftsmanship does not exist. His lacking of professionalism is completely none existent.

He really took us for a ride. We had high hopes with his fake portfolio and make believe stories. Took us with his boyish charm and having sons of our own we were took in with giving his charisma.

Everything he built had to be redone at least once and in some cases were never correct even after a third or fourth time. In some cases the effort to correct were none existing.

We had a contract for upwards of $40,000. I feel he owes us a minimal of $15,000.

Be prepared to clean up after them and by no means allow them to use any of your tools or equipment. They respect nothing and destroy everything. I have a beat up trailer and tractor now. I even have tools missing.

Summary, Do not hire this guy. A deal is having an unleveled out of square project.

I highly suggest you take Your Business elsewhere ! Dropped of a small engine off with my phone number attached , was told " it would not be too much " 4 months later no call so I stop in. " Parts are on order " 2 more months no call , so I stop in again " Parts came in yesterday , It should be done tomorrow " Tomorrow comes , still not fixed. Next day no call so I swing by 2 weeks later. With a happy smile its all fixed , ( it did start ) and said it will be a $275 repair ! After choking my confusion down, I left with the digger in the shop
" let me know if you don't want it Ill sell it " A brand spanking new one can be purchased for less that $200 with a 2 year warranty ! I received a call today ( 8 months after the day I dropped it off ) to " please be courteous and let him know if i extended to pay the $275 of if he should sell it . Nope lesson learned

On March 6, 2017 I bought a refurbished Huffy riding mower from Mr. McCarty. When I got it home and did some mowing it would not restart. I took it back to him to fix. After this, I went back home and had the same experience. Fed up, I took it back and asked for my $426 back. He said he would not do this but would re-sell it for me for a $50 commission. A few weeks later he told me it sold for $300. and promised to mail me a check for $250 in a few days. I never got a check. Finally, 7 months later, I talked with the Burnsville police and an officer went by and spoke with Mr. McCarty. A few days later I got a check for $200. He would not commit to sending the remaining $50. After posting this note on his website, I called and left a message telling him I had done so. The next day, he called me, very angry and said I would never see the $50. After further discussion, he said if I removed the post about him he would send me the $50.

My wife and I got to his business just before 11 am and he was closed and the sign said out to lunch. We waited for over an hour and finally just loaded up our mower and tiller so we could take it somewhere else. While we were there 3 other people came and then left saying that they were going to someone else. I don't know why he was closed so early but he lost a lot of buisbusi this morning

Didn't call to give a quote charged me $80 and my mower was even less functional when I got it back. At least it would run for a minute when I brought it too him now it won't crank at all.
