Illinois River Outfitters

We take our family to the river every summer and we always use Illinois River Outfitters. We like to go on Fridays when kids float free with an adult purchase. The staff is always so nice and helpful.

Very friendly and always helpful. I feel like even if you didn’t go through them they would still help you if you needed it. Really good people. We have used them for dropping us off and picking us up in our personal kayaks as well as renting their rafts. Highly recommend!

Easy to find, great bus drivers taking you up river, explained where to land at the end and another awesome driver took us straight back to our car so no walking with heavy cooler after a long day! Staff were all super nice and friendly, explained if you need guidance. It was super easy and fun and at the best price on the river! Rafts were big and comfortable for 2 people plus a big cooler. Store has water shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen and all the other must haves if you forgot anything. 10 out of 10 WILL be back to float again! It was a real adventure!

Illinois River Outfitters has got to be one of the easiest places to work with on the river. They have consistently taken great care of me and my friends with flying colors. I take a large group of about 25-30 people almost every two weeks. They have gotten us on and off the river with very little headache. I appreciate the hard work.

Good equipment. Good staff and friendly. Facilities are good. Big parking lot which was nice. Drop off point was easy and shuttle was quick. Stopping point was okay and the shuttle back to the facility was very quick. Super fun family trip!!

We used them a couple of years ago and had a blast. They were very helpful. They dropped us off with the kayaks and picked us up. It was very relaxing and lots of places to stop and take breaks.

Great little place. Has a neat little shop and the lady at the register today was amazingly nice. The drive over was a adventure also. Me And my kids had a great time thanks to these folks. My daughter who is 11 got to float for free because that is what they do during the week apparently. If you’re looking for a great time at a great price I would highly suggest using these folks. I will continue to use them every time we come back to float the Illinois.

Rented a kayak, went fishing. There are some really nice bass on their section of river. Bring light tackle, finesse gear, and prepare to have a blast hopping from gravel bar to gravel bar. Would recommend starting at 8am if you're going to fish the 12 mile float.

Really enjoyed rafting here, it was more reasonably priced than some of the other places and they allow you to float with toddlers young as two. Also appreciate their shuttle service.

Great family owned and operated. Still small but growing. Best prices on the river. I'm hoping they add camping with electricity.

We floated with them for the first time yesterday. Everyone was super friendly! The bus driver drove safely. The prices are the best we found. We will use them again in the future.

This place is new compared to the others. They have better prices and also a first responder, military discount. Nice people, new equipment. The short trip is an actual 4 miles, long trip 8 miles. Don't trust the other Outfitters on their distance. They take you to drop off and they're waiting for you to take you back when you're done. We've used several different Outfitters on the Illinois and this is now our go to. Hopefully again in a couple of weeks.

Tent camping close to the river, port a potties were clean (not sure if they are cleaned daily, but they were cleaned Monday morning). Very nice staff - Shout out to Ron and John for shuttling me to our take off point and helping us get our kayaks out of the river at the pick up point. Everything in their (Bryce and Holly's) little store is reasonably priced. (waterproof phone box, $10) beautiful day at the river. 💕

Best experience I’ve had floating the Illinois. Even though they were slammed, they put us on a wait list for a raft, and were able to get us on the river quickly. While we were waiting, they kept us updated on how soon we would be going out. Great rates, professional and courteous staff.
