Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen {Texas City}

Just ate there about an hour ago. Juan was my server. He was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the menu and what was on the different dinners and even how they were prepared. I was probably a little needy, but he kept a huge smile on his face the entire time. I ended up with the taco plate and it was very good. Margarita was very good as well. Unfortunately I live in Ft. Worth so I can’t frequent Gringos very often. But this is my go to when I stay overnight in Texas City the night before my cruise. Thanks for the great experience Juan.

Fast service. The food was good. Really fresh tortillas. The Pollo El Dorado was great!

The food is always good here. The waitress was so nice and quick with everything. Took us less time to get our food than it did for us to get seated. We tipped her well and she was so happy because right before us, she waited on a table with 8 people that were there for hours and didn't leave a tip. I hate when good service isn't rewarded.

Even tho the place was under construction at the moment of visit. Service was great! Food was good also!

I came from Chicago to spend time with my daughter and family in gavelston. I was told this place is amazing so we came here to eat dinner. I have to say this place is amazing, what a great experience, Krystal did such and amazing job always making sure she was so attentive, always checking in on us. I asked for extra spicy sauce and I loved it so spicy! Oh yeah! The chips and salsa were great love the avocado dip and the spicy salsa, nice and hot! Once we got our food I was so pleased this was so delicious and filling! After you eat you get such a great treat you get a free ice cream cone oh yeah!! You definitely need to come eat here!

We ordered three family meals for my sons' birthday after church! Picked it up and it was ready on time! Food was great! Loved that the chips came with red and green sauce and queso! Guacamole was amazing with the fajitas too! Highly recommended. Thank you Gringos!

Excellent every single time I never have an issue at this place the food is always wonderful. I can never get enough of it we go just about every time we make it down that way.

My wife had the soldier plate. It has just about everything that you can think of on one plate and she loves it.

I get the seafood enchiladas. Everything inside is wonderful of the enchilada. The sauce is the best part in my opinion I can still taste it now.

I would always recommend getting them when they first open at 11 most the time you’ll always find a table every time.

It took them an hour and a half to seat us, but we had a party of 22. The food was great and the service was too. Gringo's food never disappoints.

Drop what ya doing and come on down. Bring your thanksgiving pants because you’re going to need them. So divine you won’t be able to stop eating. The shrimp was spectacular. The steak was seasoned perfectly. Fiancé and I ate like kings for $80.03. I estimated it was around $90-$100 but was pleasantly surprised. Our server Christian was amazing! He always watching our cups and checking up on us often.

They have a free ice cream cone machine that is self service in the lobby, but we were too stuffed to get any.

Going to bring fiancé’s parents here before we leave to head home from vacation.

Amazing, best Mexican food I've ever had. Every item was good. We got ribeye street tacos, and a sampler. The owner stopped by every table and was very nice too.

We were seated right away and the waiter was prompt when we First arrived. So went there during Lunch, The waiter forgot Our request for Extra Chips, and then forgot our request for Refills, but the Food was excellent, Especially the Fish Taco's. Would definitely go there again

Great experience. Very interesting place an very popular, there was waiting time to be seated, not very long, but it was. Food choice was great. My only problem that I wasn't expecting that huge portions, can't finish all. You still can take it with you. Staff was professional and very welcome. It was very good choice for the dinner

OMG! This food was absolutely fresh and delicious. Our service was prompt and not rushed at the same time. I seriously couldn’t believe how tasty this food was. I even had to take some leftovers home and even enjoyed it hours later…LOL!

We were seated promptly and chips and salsa arrived within a couple minutes. We had Queso Loco with chicharrones, tea and Watermelon Rita. Our server was very sweet and took excellent care of us. The atmosphere in the bar area was nice, and the restrooms were clean. Very nice experience.

So good! The egg rolls are amazing. We tried some of their Cuban sauce with ours and loved it, however we also ended up with the worst heart burn ever. So be careful with the sauce 😂.

Tried a new chicken breast, with a mushrooms, spinach and tomato, in a mushrooms creme sauce. It was delicious and the chicken breast was moist. Not one bit of it was dry.

I haven't had a bad experience.
But I did receive dirty silverware while at this location, This does need to be addressed ASAP . I will be having lunch or dinner at this location so time sorry y

We loooove Gringo’s. The green sauce here is amazing. We always buy to go containers of it when we come. I typically get the pollo marisco and I’ve never been disappointed by it. The only problem I have is that you can reserve a table over the phone (we drive over an hour from the other side of Houston when we visit this location and then have to wait another 45 minutes just for a two top). At least you can have an ice cream cone while you’re waiting I guess. My only other problem is the plating of the food. Why would you put hot beans in a side dish but put a cucumber salad on a super hot plate with the main dish? The heat of the plate makes the salad hot and in my opinion ruins it because salads are meant to be cold or room temperature. Either way, you can’t messily mix up or cut up your main dish without accidentally getting salad/crunchy raw vegetables in your food which is a texture issue for a lot of people. The cucumber salad is awesome when it’s the appropriate temperature and it’s technically my fault for forgetting to ask for it on the side, I just wanted to add that I think it doesn’t make sense to put in on the hot plate with other foods.

My grandson had fun celebrating his Bday here. Great food and service as usual.

I go during their busy lunch time. The food comes out fast and is tasty but the great service makes the food taste even better.
