We recently arranged a field trip to see the museum, and more specifically, an installation of art work honoring women artists. The space was clean, elegant, warm, and inviting. The installation was amazing with beautiful artwork in several different styles. The artist talk by Rhian Swain was informative and inspirational. I'm looking forward to coming back for the full museum experience.

We had a great tour guide. Shared so many things. Not just about Lucy Craft Laney , but people from the CSRA and the Delta connection for the museum. Nice to learn about a legacy of excellence.

Side note: I do wish it had more interactive things for children. Great history that should be shared with everyone in the CSRA. Huge thanks to the staff.

A fascinating place. The director has been there since its conception. She was very knowledgeable and the museum is full of Augusta's history. It also has works from local artists. There is a place for children's classes.

We loved historic homes and found this ho.e/museum when traveling through the area. Awesome lady Miss Lucy Craft Laney and learned so much history along with her inspiring story. Corey is an amazing historian and tour guide! He really brought the facts of Lucy's life and the history of the area, really American history of the late 1800's - early 1900's to life in a real and meaningful way. Definitely a worthwhile stop if you are in the area.

Was a very great viewing on the educational and black history side of Augusta Ga. The tour guide was very informative on everything that was there as well as respectful and ran just two of us like he had a whole crowd. Very great place. I will come again. Even took us access the street to pay respect to the grave of Ms. Laney herself.

Had awesome time here. They really focus on local historians & their impact throughout history. Plus they add in artifacts from a little bit of everywhere. It’s a much smaller museum than the Museum of History so they have a tour guide who gives you details on different artifacts you’re shown. He was very knowledgeable & well spoken. All of the information he gave was well conveyed & accurate. He did mention that due to the size of the museum they have more artifacts than they have space so it will change as you continue to visit their exhibit. A great opportunity to learn about local historians & their impact.

Small but fascinating house museum of African American history and art. We were given a very informative tour. Good section on golf, since it is in Augusta.

Oh my goodness, this day I learned alot of history at this museum. Lucy Craft Laney wàs the best at her craft. I pray that her legacy will continue to live on because she was a great example of how a human being of color pave the way for her students and others that came in contact with her.

This is a wonderful little-known secret... so impressive is the black history in Augusta, and the museum chronicles the opportunities and impact that Augusta-educated black citizens made throughout the country
