I stayed here with my husband on vacation. The rooms were so clean. The cleaning woman went above and beyond for us making sure to leave her card just in case we needed something. She was so sweet. She definitely deserved her tip. The view from our room was breath taking, as well as all the other views you could drive to. We will definitely be staying again!
Don't forget to tip the cleaning woman!

Absolutely magical. It was even better with the restaurant closed. We had the mountains completely to ourselves. Unlike a crowded visit to the smokies. The room was gorgeous and a small kitchen was perfect. Can’t recommend this enough if your looking for peace and quiet with a priceless view. The restaurants in town were delish. Really wish we could have stayed longer.

The view was amazing! Staff was so nice and cheerful. Our waitress made a wonderful recommendation about a short drive down to the end of the property the sky wall to see chimney tops! Beautiful! The whole area is beautiful. Well worth the drive. The food was what you would expect, nothing to fancy. And it was at a decent price. Kinda the home cooked, small restaurant feel.

The food was amazing. Our server Nicole was friendly and efficient. Our drinks stayed full and everyone there was friendly and smiling. It was busy so we had to wait for a table but that gave us the chance to go outside and look at the amazing view. My steak was cooked to perfection and tasty. We will definitely be going back!

We love McClouds Mountaintop restaurant. We took our out of town family there last week and everything was fantastic! We had a late reservation so some of the items we wanted we no longer available but that didn't take away from our enjoyment. We just ordered what was available because everything they have is so good! And John our waiter I can't say enough good things about. He tried so hard to make our visit the best it could be. Of course the view is outstanding, the food superior and the service great. Although this restaurant too has been dealt with some hard blows due to the pandemic they still try their best to live up to the 5* rep they've had for so long. This was our third time there and we will go back.

I grew up in this area and have only ever eaten at the McCloud Mtn. Restaurant over the years, which was always excellent. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed, hopefully not permanently, but for the season. I had previously expressed my desire to stay at the lodge, so my husband thought it would be a nice treat to stay here while visiting nearby family for Thanksgiving. I was ecstatic to finally stay at the lodge!
We arrived Friday night, a little later than expected, but the security guard was still there waiting for us. He was friendly and extremely helpful. It was nice to be in a gated community, and I believe we were the only guest Friday night. Our suite was notably clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was a little odd in the bedroom, but to each his own. They provide most amenities for the stay. Towels, soap, and a few kitchen essentials. The room did not have a microwave, only a toaster oven, but no foil to cook on. I also thought paper towels would've been practical to offer in the kitchenette. They also offered a few beverages and snacks in the refrigerator, which was a nice touch.
We had a wonderful stay, but if I had any negatives from it would be that I could not turn the floor heater on in the bathroom, which isn't a deal breaker. The shower could use a nicer shower head. This seemed like a cheap replacement shower head, whereas everything else about the resort was modern and upscale. Also, when we turned the fireplace on, our room filled with what smelled like sulfur; to the point where we decided to turn it off, and air out our room by opening the sliding glass door. I hope this wasn't caused by a gas leak, but we weren't taking any chances. We reported it to the staff via text. They do have central heating & air, so this wasn't our only source of heat.
I can't say the cost justified the stay considering the size and limitations. It is a little bit of a trek to get there, but well worth it in my opinion.
The best part of the stay was the breathtaking views of the valley, mountains, and lakes from our room. The private deck had a table, & chairs, along with a privacy wall, which was a nice touch. We had a king size bed, with luxury bedding. I have even looked for the same down pillows for my bed since staying here. The sitting area was comfortable with 2 large recliners. The T.V was substantial, and offered both Christmas movies, and the TN football game. We were happy campers!
We stopped at Dominos on our way there, and the next morning we were looking for a biscuit from one of the convenience stores nearby, but the B&B Market at the end of the resort road only took cash, and they do not have an ATM. We were heading further up the mountain, not into town, so I figured the corner store in White Oak would have breakfast, unfortunately they claimed the kitchen was closed on the weekends. Seems to me that would be the time to have it open. This is not a reflection of McCloud Mtn., but for guest anticipating something to eat in the area, be aware you will likely have to go into Lafollette, which I believe is only 11 miles or so. I hope to return for more enjoyable stays in the future. Perhaps if they allowed a 1 night stay it would be easier on the budget, because as it is these rooms were on the pricey side.

I had the privilege to bring a group of Seniors to this establishment. They did an outstanding job. The manager was a great help and the servers were amazing. We were able to enjoy the fellowship and especially the wonderful view.
The food was amazing. The Turkey and dressing was very good. My wife had the beef brisket and it melt in your mouth. Some of the best I have ever had. By the way, the homemade desserts were amazing.
I was impressed to see the owner greet us. He spoke to several people in our group.
If you are looking for a get away for a weekend with your wife or taking a group on a special trip, this is one place you will want to go. We will be returning again.
Thank you McCloud staff for taking such good care of us.

It was my first time visiting this incredible place . Everything was terrific!! I was greeted with smiles as soon as I walked through the door my husband I were delighted to have chosen this place for our date night. We were very grateful that we made reservations so we could enjoy this incredible expierence. The view was remarkable. Our server was so sweet and she was delighted to answer any questions about the menu and was even able to recommend something to my picky husband. The food was out of this world amazing !! I wish we could have tried everything on the menu. We will definitely be back and maybe even with our children because the kids menu makes it a perfect family place as well !!

RESERVATION ONLY. The food was great! The service was great! And the view was amazing! I got catfish, a sweet potato and coleslaw. My fiance got the brisket tacos with fries. We got a sampler appetizer. The beer cheese with the pretzels was AMAZING! We got an apple pie for dessert. It was a little dry. It could have had more filling in it and if the apples had been peeled, it would have been amazing as well. I would definitely recommend going. I will be back.

LODGE: The rooms are VERY comfortable and nicely appointed...perfect atmosphere for relaxation and lots of rest. The views are astonishing!

RESTAURANT: The food is perfect; the presentation is spot-on. The portions are LARGE; 2-people can very easily split an entree. The views from the restaurant are just as amazing as the lodge room views. The service is 1st class!

WOW! So thankful the owners of this stunning piece of property choose to share it! The view from the restaurant is beyond breath taking and the food was good. (Grilled chicken sandwich and fries were really good). I would love to to stay at the lodge... definitely putting that on my bucket list. So worth the trip.

The view from the restaurant is superb and the breakfast was awesome. I had the western omelette and it was the best I have had and large enough for two people. The biscuits and gravy reminded me of how my mom cooked them and the country ham center cut was huge and yummy. Absolutely delicious food. We will be back

Amazing views food is great Wife and I had BBQ sandwiches friend had Italian dish and was great, another had ribs and was delicious. We were in town staying at Walden Woods riding SXS , short drive and recommend it ,service was good. We thought prices would be high since you have to make reservations, they were reasonable and dress code was casual. We will be back next trip.

The group of 7 were staying at a rented cabin on Norris lake, heard about the restaurant from local person, really glad we made the trip up the mountain. The staff was excellent very friendly and helpful, The restaurant was clean and well maintained. The menu was simple with ample choices for everyone in the group. From steaks to catfish. I had the smoked ribs, understanding that smoked ribs are not fall off the bone baked ribs they were delicious. From the steaks that were served to the fried green tomatoes everything was prepared well. The waitress was wonderful evening bringing cinnamon for the baked sweet potato side. I would definitely include the side salad as on of your sides most meals come with at least 2 sides. The views are worth every penny spent, I have traveled all over the country and this was one of the best locations I have ever broken bread with good people. And yes the beer is cold!

We went to the restaurant and it was great. The food was delicious, well prepared and pretty quick. The service was excellent. The view is unparalleled. We had the fried green tomatoes and they were well done. The salad was a seasonal blend of greens with a little romaine. The ribeye was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. We also had the clam stuffed shrimp. IMPORTANT: You MUST get reservations. It was not crowded at all but you must have a reservation to enter the property.

This is a great place to see. The views are amazing. The food is very good. The service was great, when we got seated our hostess told us that one of their servers called out and they were short handed but they went out of their way to make everything right. We did not have any issues. You must make reservations in order to drive up to the top.

The food was amazing!! I had the New York strip burger for lunch, and it was just amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection. If I only had room for a second one I would get it. The view is surreal. It oversees the entire country side. It is just breathtaking. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is very friendly and uplifting. They kept a smile on my face the entire time I was there. My server Carolina was wonderful! She is the absolute best! No one could ask for a better waitress than her. If I could give 10 stars I would! Would reccomend to any one!

My family and I went up for dinner here on McCloud Mountain after stumbling across it due to the interstate detour. The view was breathtaking during our ascent up the mountain to the restaurant, and, once we sat down, our eyes were greeted with a portrait of nature that ended only with the outline of the Great Smoky Mountains.
The view in of itself was well worth the visit, but the food didn't disappoint, either. Having ordered the ribs, I was delighted when I took the first bite into some of the tenderest, most delicious ribs I've ever had. The rest of my family also enjoyed their own meals.
The view and the food is the two best things this mountain has to offer. We didn't stay in the lodge, but it appeared as though it might be an enjoyable experience as well. The only downsides to the restaurant is that, at least on the night we ate there, service was a bit slow. It looks like they might have been understaffed that night. However, they did just reopen for the season recently, so your experience may differ from mine.
All in all, give this restaurant a try, at least for the view, but also for the food.
