This is the worst hospital I've ever been in. I gave it 5 stars because it's consistently terrible. If you expect because they have added on and have been bought out that the care too has changed you would be wrong. I rushed my mother to the ER because she had a collapsed lung and the ER was fantastic but knowing that if she needed surgery they couldn't do it and she would have to be transported I tried getting her to a hospital that could do surgery if necessary. So they told me that she most likely wouldn't need surgery because they had her lung inflated. So she was moved to critical care. Her chest tube didn't look to be working properly but the nurse insisted that it was. The lung doctor came in and I was correct, the machine wasn't working at all and fluid was backing up onto her lung. On 3 different occasions I noticed that her tube was kinked. The nurse said she checked that and that was a bold faced lie. My mother has great insurance so I knew that they were milking it as much as they could. Putting moving her to where she needed to be off for as long as possible. This is typical for Oconee and I totally expected it but I didn't expect them not to transport her until the day of her surgery even though she already had a room waiting for her. If you have to go to the ER in Oconee I totally understand but I highly recommend that if the patient is going to be admitted to go ahead and have them admitted to a different hosital as soon as possible. 5 star review for consistency. They suck!

This hospital is a gem. I took my Dad there for an emergency and without unnecessary questions and delay they were able to see him and during the process they did all their paperwork and performed a small procedure that very day. They kept me posted on him at all times. Doctor Otero treated my Dad and he's brilliant. Front office lady, nurses, security guard were all super efficient and sincere and I felt so comfortable that my father was in good hands. I was alone and anxious but the nurses and the staff made me feel so comfortable!

I am very impressed by the staff and care of the hospital! Been in ER myself twice, with my husband once and they saved his life and most recently with BIL! The were very busy and not enough rooms in ER but they were very thorough all times! BIL is in a room today and has many problems but they addressing all! Rooms very clean and nurses were always awesome!

Went in to this ER on September after breaking my wrist and everyone that I came into contact with was AMAZING! They were quick to get my pain under control and everyone was extremely caring. Nurse Mary Ashley was wonderful and very genuine. Dr Edgar and Jordan had a cast in place, medication called in, referral made to ortho, and had me on my way in around 2 hours. The team at this ER was wonderful!

I am a 30+ year RN and recently was admitted to OMH thru the ED. I must say I had stellar service from the get go. ED was efficient and professional. Very attentive. I spent 4 days on the 5th floor. Nurses and PCTs were wonderful. Lab techs and food services were all so caring. Dr J. Davis and Dr. Wang took great care of me as well. I was very satisfied! Thanks to everyone that cared for me.

We were transferred from Easley to Oconee because our 4 year old has RSV and a touch of pneumonia. From the time we got there till we left everyone that worked with us we’re absolutely amazing! They checked on our daughter and us also. Made sure we all had what we needed and were great at letting us know what was going on. I love Greenville memorial but Oconee has won me over! They are awesome and I HIGHLY recommend them! They were such a huge help.

No complaints, they took great care of my mother last week. She was admitted about a wk ago and was there for 3 days . She tested positive for COVID-19 and her sodium was so low , that the Drs were worried that she could have a serious stroke. Everyone that saw my mother was very polite and very professional. On day 3 she was well enough to come home. I was also very pleased with how they followed up with her health after she came home. The 1st week home she was already visited by a physical therapist & a nurse.

I had to leave a review for this hospital and the labor and delivery floor because they were beyond angels to me, my baby, and my family! Dr Dyer is amazing as well as the other doctors I encountered . The whole surgical team did amazing taking care of me and making me feel safe during my c-section. Nurse heather, Lauren, Tammy, Tammy, Nikki, and the lactation nurse Kristin were also amazing. Everyone was so helpful and so quick to be at our service when needed . They treated me like family and I honestly wouldn’t have wanted to deliver my baby anywhere else! Thank you so much Oconee memorial labor and delivery floor for being so amazing!

My mother was admitted for hip surgery. She has dementia and is not easy to deal with at times. The staff were very helpful and took great care of mom. I appreciate each one for their caring and concern while dealing with her and with us her children. We feel very blessed to have this hospital near our home. May God bless each of you for the hard work you do each day for us. We do notice. Thank you

The emergency room has changed. I was in and out in less than 2 hours. Had CT scan, blood work, ultrasound. Very kind and knowledgeable nurses, doctor and staff. This is the second time I been there. This was for me. Last time was my husband. That was October of last year. I'm very happy with the changes

My daughter was admitted there on 04/04/23. I can not even begin to explain the care that she received while she was there. All the nurses, doctors and staff went above and beyond. They were very caring, attentive and informative. The hospital was clean, and they made sure we had everything we needed. There are no words on how thankful we are for the experience we had at Oconee!

When my wife and I walked into the Oconee Memorial ER, we were checked in very quickly. The first impression of the hospital was wonderful, and we felt taken care of. While waiting to go up to the labor and delivery floor, Tarah got her blood pressure checked by two nurses and they were very kind and understanding that Tarah was battling contractions. Maybe 15 minutes pass and finally another nurse escorts me, Tarah, Tarah’s father and mother to the labor and delivery floor.

We arrive in what we hope is our room and the nursing staff sought to get clearance from our doctor that she can be admitted due to her active labor. Mekenzie and Lauren are the nurses assigned to us for this night that Tarah is in labor. As soon as Tarah is cleared to be admitted, the nurses are extremely attentive to Tarah as she desired to have the epidural as soon as possible. They also explained what the graphs on the monitors meant so that we could follow along with her progress and track things ourselves.

Receiving the epidural can be a scary thing so Tarah was a tad nervous. The anesthetist came in and was fabulous. We appreciated that he talked through the administration of the epidural so that we understood what each poke and prod was for. Tarah had to expose her back for the epidural and while she braced herself, Mekenzie embraced Tarah in a very professional, but sweet way that made Tarah feel very calm and at ease that everything would be fine.

I was gone for about 5-10 minutes and returned to find a doctor, almost all the nurses on the floor that night, Tarah’s mother with tears in her eyes, and Tarah on all fours. I was informed shortly after that what happened was that when the baby would start to drop, the baby’s heart would stop due to the umbilical cord being squeezed or pushed. Tarah would tell me later that while many would probably panic in situations like that, the nurses and doctor were exceptional in comforting Tarah, maneuvering her body quickly but calmly, and ultimately saving our daughter’s life.

About 3 hours later, our primary doctor, Dr. Pirkle informed us that our daughter’s heart stopped again but recovered. However, it may be a good idea to do a C section. We were not thrilled about a C section, but our nurses said that if you ever must do a C section, you would be lucky to have Dr. Pirkle.

In the following days we would be visited by 2 lactation consultants regarding breast-feeding. They were incredible as they encouraged Tarah to keep practicing and not get discouraged if it doesn’t seem to be going great.

I can say that every nurse, doctor, and associate that had a hand in our first pregnancy was a joy and blessing in our journey. However, I must single out Mekenzie and Lauren. These two nurses have a gift, and we would schedule our next delivery around their schedule because of the love, professionalism, knowledge, and skill they bring to Oconee Memorial. A special bond was formed between our family and these two nurses. I can say I had an overwhelming number of questions and they answered all of them while I was not left wanting in an answer. Mekenzie and Lauren will make many mothers very happy, and we are so thankful that our daughter was brought into the world while they were taking care of us.

I also must mention Dr. Pirkle. We chose him as Tarah’s primary doctor and couldn’t quite get a read on him. I believe he may have been unsure of us as Tarah and I can be overly personable. However, the more and more we visited, the more comfortable I believe we both got with each other. We would not have wanted to put our daughter’s life in anybody else’s hand that night other than Dr. Pirkle.

Our ONLY complaint about Oconee Memorial is that we would not be able to do a VBAC birth should we return there for our second pregnancy. Due to nursery capabilities and some other hospital approval issues, we will only be able to do C sections moving forward at Oconee Memorial. We hope and pray that this changes soon.

I can't say enough great things about this hospital and its staff!
Today, I had a procedure done that required general anesthesia. This was my first time with being put under general anesthesia, and I have to say, I was a bit nervous. For the last 20 years of my life, I have experienced vertigo spells from unknown causes. I was nervous what general anesthesia would do to my vertigo. This was an elective procedure, mind you, so I had a good month or so to mull it over and work myself up (this did a wonderful number on my blood pressure throughout my visit - not worth it, trust me!) 😅
From registration to discharge, every single person whom I had interactions with was a God send! I am having a difficult time remembering names as the anesthesia gave me a bit of amnesia, but I want to sincerely thank my nurse (I believe her name was Jayme, originally from Alabama ❤) who was so patient and kind towards my son and I - she really had a way of putting my mind at ease. I want to thank the two amazing anesthesiologists along with their nurse, who were most certainly heaven sent (Dr. John Martin is what my discharge paperwork states 😁)! I want to thank the beyond sweet nurse who cared for me in the recovery room - I could not stop singing my praises upon waking up for her and everyone involved as I couldn't contain my thankful heart! I want to give a huge thank you to my doctor, Dr. Toutenel, who I simply don't know what I would do, without! She was lightning fast in completing my procedure with amazing care!
I had zero vertigo, hallelujah!
The Lord Jesus blessed me in every way with these wonderful people and this amazing experience. I just can't say thank you enough to everyone involved!
God bless ya'll!! ❤🙌🙏

Two weeks ago I had to go to the ER for care. Repeating again what a great experience!! I seriously felt like family while I was there. I wish I could remember names but there was not one staff member not polite and helpful!. I have never had surgery before and should have been nervous, I never felt more at ease. I may not remember your name but I remember all the stories about your children and pets. Thanks so much to everyone. Penny Phelps

My wife and I just had our first baby on 10/19 at Oconee memorial hospital. We both agree they is no words or review big enough to thank all the staff in labor/delivery. Back in February I came to the emergency room around 3am and ended up having to get an emergency appendectomy. I did not have to wait long even when I first came in. All of the nurses/ doctors were very nice. I’d never had surgery before and am scared of anesthesia so I was freaking out. The nurses and my surgeon all helped to make me feel very comfortable and calmed me down. Post surgery, I was taken care of and given clear instructions on aftercare. Surgeon was even nice enough work around my belly button piercing during surgery so I wouldn’t lose it.
