Devil's Racetrack Overlook

Amazing trail and a great place to take in the beauty of East Tennessee. The fall leaves are stunning!

Definitely worth the time to come here. It’s a little confusing when you first arrive, as 1: parking is not the greatest, 2: the entrance to the trail is not marked, there’s just a bunch of giant rocks at the trail entrance. Once you get on the actual trail it’s not too bad, there is multiple small waterfalls that are worth seeing, some are easy to get too and be close and dip your feet if you wanted too. Once you get to a certain point of hiking up the trail, the path starts to getting hazy on which way to go due to the fact as people have made their own trails, and the actual trail that people should follow is not well marked.
After you manage to find the bridge the trail up the mountain is also not well marked due to weather, and some areas are really difficult to hike up or you’re not sure if you are even on the right trail since it’s not marked, but once you figure out where the path is it’s not too difficult to resume the hike. Use your fellow hikers who are coming down to get some insight on where the trials are at. That is very helpful.
Overall once you make it to the top of the mountain the view is phenomenal and definitely worth the headache of figuring out where you are going. Make sure to take a right turn once you make it to the top as the sight of the American flag will definitely wow you!

This place has a beautiful view. The hike up to the fall is mildly trying. I did have to watch my footing but the views and scenery was well worth the hike.

Probably one of the best trails to go on simply because there isn't miles and miles of walking, There's really cool waterfalls and an awesome view.
It's kind of like the chimney tops but not as long of a hike and the top isn't as dangerous. I think it took me about 30 minutes one way. Definitely wear good shoes because parts of the trail are soaked and towards the top the trail gets steep. There was a bit of litter on the trail which really gets under my skin when I see it in nature, where lazy, nasty white trash scumbags don't have any respect. To those who leave their trash in the wilderness....I hope you get what's coming to you and you better pray I never catch you doing it.

Great overlook, and dog-friendly! Relatively short hike to the top.. the meandering trail and waterfalls help you forget you're so close to I-40. Nice & quick when you just need to get outside. Lots of trash in the parking area, please don't leave more... Maybe even take some with you to dispose of properly!

Just off the Cumberland Trail, Devil's Racetrack is a formation of two rock 'fins' that stick out of the side of the mountains along side of I-75 just North of the Exit 134 in Caryville. They are all very solid rock, nothing is very brittle, but the thing you have to look for is vegetation. Moss is really bad on several spots. Other than that the rock is spectacular. Great views on top of great climbs. Devil’s Racetrack sports a selection of sport and trad climbs from easy to fairly challenging for both single pitch and short 2 pitch routes. The approach trail is a tad steep in some spots, so be careful if it's wet out

Awesome waterfall (though it is man made). Views are amazing as well. My friend and I start a ways up (not at the trailhead) so we did not have to walk along the highway. Great, quick hike that still presents a little challenge.

Awesome hike!! The falls are beautiful, the trail is not to difficult, and the view from the overlook is amazing! I will defiantly be returning to hike here again.

Little over 2 miles to the top some points are steep however trail is not hard to navigate. Beautiful view once at the top little Egypt is a great stopping point along the way

Definitely a good workout! The end is what got me. Beautiful waterfalls along the way and the view at top is breathtaking! Worth the trek

Hiked the Devils Racetrack trail for the very first time about a year ago. It was so worth it. The trail is a light challenge going up, oddly enough I felt it was more of a challenge coming back down!
The view from the top of the mountain makes you want to look around forever.
Such a great time to be had here and takes less than 2 hours.
I will hike it again!

This is a great hike close to knoxville. Great views. It's tough but you can take your time.

It’s steep, but definitely worth the hike!!

This was a great hike! Hard in some spots and easier in others. I needed a walking stick, definitely need good hiking boots. The views are awesome! One complaint is some really terrible "person" took the American flag!! Awful!! I wonder if they three it over the side or walked all the way down with it.

Hiked to this overlook and the waterfalls at the base of it. It was easy and beautiful and fun. Couldn't believe we had not done this sooner! Ample parking. Not crowded.

It was a difficult trail to follow with several areas where the trail had been washed out or people had cut shortcuts between trail segments. A strenuous hike to the top.

Just went for the first time and I loved it!
