Amazing Capt! We wanted to give our son and new wife a fishing experience during their honeymoon. I called Capt Fleming and worked out the details, he even set up wife the chef at a local restaurant to cook their catch. He made sure the fish cooperated as well. They caught more than enough and our son was happy to share the catch. I highly recommend this guide who obviously knows how to get a fish on.

Although the fish were scarce across the whole Bay (Laguna Madre) this morning, we had an outstanding experience with Captain Cliff Fleming. He’s a pro’s pro!! And, most important to me great with young people.

Captain Cliff worked tirelessly with my two grandchildren (ages 9&11) who were rookie saltwater fisherman when they boarded his super clean and well appointed boat. The kiddos not only learned a ton about the basics and ethics of bay fishing, but they gained knowledge of the flora and fauna of the pristine wetlands that surrounded us.

The kids loved every minute of the day. A local restaurant fried up our catch for lunch about 20 minutes after the filleting. Thank you Captain Fleming. Will definitely fish with him again. Clearly a 5 Star experience.

Another fantastic experience with Captain Cliff!! This was our 3rd trip with a Captain Cliff and this trip did not disappoint! He is our ONLY phone call for a guided fishing trip!!!

This was the highlight of our vacation! Our relationship with Captain Cliff began over a month out from our trip when my husband called Captain Cliff to find out more about bay fishing. We decided the trip would be a blast for us and our 7 year old son! Captain Cliff selected the best day for our family to go fishing based on the lunar cycle. I could tell from the moment we met Captain Cliff that we were going to have a great trip - he’s laid back and friendly - he showed us the best times of the day to fish based on the lunar cycle and said that we would be fishing during that time, he asked about our son’s fishing experience and got an idea of my husband’s goals for the day! The whole day was perfect! We caught snapper, trout and lady fish which our son kept calling “girl fish.” The Captain was patient with our son and taught him safety on the boat and kept him busy reeling in fish. We were reeling in fish on every cast at one point, although, not all keepers. It was so much fun! My husband mentioned that he would like to catch some trout and Captain Cliff took us to some trout! There was a nice man back at the marina who cleaned and bagged our fish. His wife even gave us some limes from their tree! The whole experience was unforgettable and we are already planning our next trip with Captain Cliff in October! He is knowledgeable, kind, great with kids and a ton of fun! We are so appreciative to him for making this such an incredible experience for our family! We will be talking about it for a long time!!

We had such a great time! We had what we called a "mini tournament" between my sisters and I. We were competing to catch the biggest fish to win a "Grand Prize." We also decided to have a dolphin watch, which was pretty fun. We had a good amount of fish and had a great fish dinner! :)

We drove all the way from Arizona TWICE to fish with Capt. Cliff! My husband is an experienced fishing guide himself, but needed someone who could show us what the Laguna Madre had to offer. Cliff did not disappoint! He is extremely knowledgeable, super friendly, and really fun and easy to fish with for a day (or four!) on the water. You have NO fishing experience? Call Cliff. You have tons of fishing experience? Call Cliff. Our 11-year-old is STILL talking about all the different kinds of fish we caught! We can't wait to fish with him again!

Captain Cliff was awesome. My son and I spent 3 days fishing with him last month. He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Caught a bunch of reds, sea trout, and some sheepshead. Would definitely recommend Crystal Flats and Captain Cliff to anyone heading to south padre for some serious fishing. We will be back!

Cap'n Cliff was great. Took mom and our two boys, age 9 and 11, on a little bay trip for the morning. Everyone caught more than enough fish, black drum, red snapper, mangrove snapper, etc. Mom won the prize for biggest fish and the most fish caught. Would definitely book again!

I have known and fished with Captain Cliff for years and we have always had a lot of fun! Cliff is expert on marine biology and wildlife and really knows the Laguna Madre area. Captain Cliff has a wit about him that makes the fish wanna jump straight in the boat. Luckily I think he's worked a deal for them to just take the bait and give you a nice fight. The fishing was great but the icing on the cake--we had a wonderful meal after Captain Cliff filled us in on a great spot to have our fresh fillets cooked in the spot. I'm hooked on Captain Cliff and the Crystal Flats of the Laguna Madre at South Padre.

I recommend Cliff. We had a great trip. Quality boat and gear, fun guy to fish with. Even let my wife reel in the biggest of the day. I'll certainly call Cliff on my next trip to SPI.

Experienced. Knowledgeable. Professional. Best fishing guide / charter service on the Laguna Madre! I fish with these guys about 9 - 12 days a year, we have always caught fish including reds, drum and speckled trout. The guides are easy to fish with and offer offer family-friendly trips as well. South Padre Island Guides are my go to fishing charter servie when I am in the South Padre area. Highly recommend!

Captain Cliff took me out on a solo trip and it was a blast! It was unfortunate that only one species was biting at the time (speckled trout) but we were hammering them all day and got my 5 fish limit within the first 2 hours.

Captain cliff took time away from his family on Christmas morning to take me and my family out fishing even though it was raining, and we had a great time and caught some nice fish, thanks again captain cliff!!!
