Hong Kong Chop Suey

Everything from beginning to end was basically perfect. When I called in, a lady was extremely nice and patient with me when I had questions. A guy who works in the back held the door on my way in like a perfect gentleman.
The food was amazing. They cook with corn oil which makes the egg rolls to die for. Even the leftovers of my Kung Pao lunch special were great. All of the ingredients seemed fresh and the fried rice had delicious pieces of pork mixed in.
The best part is it is inexpensive and I could definitely do this once a week. Looking forward to revisiting soon!

This is a place I used to frequent years ago. Their food is great. Their dining room is closed, so now it is take out only. Not sure if it's a remodel or what. They have a 4 page menue that looks like it has over 100 items on it. I got the Happy Family, and it was great!
It took about 10-15 minutes to get the order.
I will be going back soon.

We were in the area and wanted to pick up some take out to take home. I have always heard of this place but dont live close to it. Anyway, the phone order process was very smooth. The person was very nice and answered all of our noodle questions.

All the food was so so good, but the best was the egg rolls. I'm obsessed and will definitely be back.

The best egg rolls in the Chicagoland area. I get around for good Chinese and can say a great egg roll is hard to find, but look no further! I usually get an order of BBQ pork and an order of egg rolls. The BBQ pork when it's good, it's great, but when it's not... Sometimes it's really tough/chewy...

The rest of the food is great, and portions are great for the price.

Unfortunately since covid, they are carry out only.

This place is amazing great food and huge portions I just wanted lunch but I got dinner as well. The food is also amazing. The guy on the phone that took the order was very nice and communication was beautiful. If I could give them 6 stars I would.

This is definitely my favorite Chinese Restaurants in the area. I asked them when they were going to open the dining in part, but they said not this year. It is one of the few restaurants that I have gone to alone and not felt out of place. They are genuinely gracious, the food is delicious and the price is right where it should be. I particular like the appetizers, especially the shrimp toast.

We have been eating from here since highschool, 20+ years ago, when it was a small spot near Walgreens. This is the best Chinese Food in Lake Co. Hands DOWN!! Always super hot, super fresh and super fast. Man I miss this place so much. I'm coming out this month for my birthday, can't wait. Love ya HKCS.

Food cooked with heart. I don't have the vocabulary skill to express in written form my love for this restaurant. Portions are bountiful, quality is superb, taste is delicious. A gem of a family run restaurant that my wife n I go to weekly as part of a date night.

We have been going here for many years there egg rolls are all handmade and absolutely delicious! We usually get there cashew beef with pineapple fried rice with pork and crab ragoon. Thats our go to meals but all there food is really good kids love there sweet and sour chicken.

We went to this place several times when we were in Mundelein for about a month. From its external appearance we didn't expect and indeed it was quite a surprise to find how delicious the food they make. It was a total package - the food was amazing, their service is commendably fast (especially with the volume of orders they receive, mostly takeout), the front desk is friendly and fluent in English, and the prices are very reasonable for the quantity (and quality) of the food they offer. It was this unbeatable combination that compelled us to order from here multiple times. We are vegetarian so we only tried noodle-based and tofu-based entrees; therefore, I cannot comment on the quality of the meat-based counterparts. Now, to present a fair picture, the food is, not to hide, quite oily and may not be using the most healthy of ingredients. But it's made for taste and not for health reasons. If you don't mind indulging, I'd recommend to try it out; you won't be disappointed.

If you’re interested in take out for Chinese food this place is my spot. I live in Chicago and I have to say this place is best you’re gonna find in the burbs. The egg rolls are always good and not little at all. The lunch specials are also good. The portions are huge and the price is great for the amount of food that is given. My only gripe for this place is that I have to travel 45 minutes to get my fix of their food.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant. Their crab rangoon is amazing. My husband had their Happy Family and I had Kung Pao Chicken. Both were great!

They food was great. Very good at getting refills for soda.

This is the best place within several miles and is worth the trip. They have fantastic crab Rangoon and potstickers. My wife and my favorite appetizers, respectively.
They do so much business that after covid, they just stayed a take out place. Even though they make food really fast, their call line gets ba ked up the later it gets.

The best egg rolls in town, although they have greatly shrunk!! Great hot and sour soup, chop suey and beef chow me in. Shrimp Egg foo young is also good. The fried shrimp appetizer is also great!

I'm sorry I can only give you guys a five it should be a 10 . The food is always excellent the gentleman taking my order was very nice. Unfortunately I live about an hour away. Which is kind of good because I would be eating there everyday if I live closer. Don't change a thing

This restaurant is an institution in Mundelein. The food is fantastic. Plan ahead as they get busy. They are busy because the food is good. It is take away. There is a small parking lot, getting in and out can be troublesome. But the food is worth it. Make a point to stop here, you will thank yourself.

Great Americanized Chinese food. It's always delicious, the people are always friendly and sweet, the price is usually shockingly low. Dinner for four very hungry people, plus leftovers for almost a whole other meal for $60. The egg rolls are fantastic: not too greasy, crunchy and savory. We've had a bunch of different stuff on the menu, almost 1/2 of their offerings, and we have _never_ been disappointed. The only place nearby that I would rate higher is a nationally recognized authentic place in Chinatown. And that would be only slightly better! HKCS deserves more than five stars!
