Northwood Family Restaurant

Great spot for families and large parties. Came here on a busy Sunday night over the 4th of July weekend and even amidst all that mayhem we were treated like gold. Some of the best comfort food in the area - highlights this time included the Chicken Fried Chicken, Seafood Pasta, and the Seafood Chowder. Drinks are strong and well priced, staff is friendly and efficient.

What a great place. Had dinner for first time the other night. Terrific food, recommend whitefish and surf and turf. Meagan, our server, could not have been nicer, helpful suggestions and makes a terrific irish coffee..we'll be back!

We rode our bicycles up the NW State Trail from Petoskey. Glad we did! Stopped by the Northwood Family Restaurant for lunch. It was great! Northwood is a hidden gem right off the trail in Oden Mi. Watch for the blue building.

A very nice inside seating area, a bar, quality furnishings, clean, great food and service!
I appreciate cloth napkins, nice plates and silverware. They even place real butter on the tables.

Fish & chips was awesome! Onion rings were the best!

BTW, the tall draft beer is 25 ounces. The mugs bring a smile to your face!

This is a great place!

We come to the area almost annually for our ski vacation. This was my family’s first time here. It was absolutely delicious. Our server was awesome and the feel of the restaurant was comfort with fine dining. Can’t wait to come back next year!

This place was a welcome respite after a long day of holiday travel. The staff was welcoming and friendly to our tired and hangry brood. We were served dinner rolls while we waited for our food- who does that anymore? The place was decorated so cute and cozy for the holidays. And the food was really really good. I got the beef and gravy and it was made with good quality beef, mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked broccoli (not mushy!). Comfort food at its best. We were quite a ways from home but the kids and I agreed -it would be worth traveling back for!

Absolutely delicious! I had the Caribbean chicken sandwich with onion rings. Let me tell you if I could drive back for dinner tonight I would! 10/10 hands down yummy! Will definitely be back! Service was quick and friendly. Very clean. 10/10!

YESS. I really enjoyed my stay please eat here too. I went the 12th of July 2022. Delicious. I had fried mushrooms (Not pictured but amazing because I wanted to eat them) and the spaghetti. Also pictured is the cod fish sandwich and the half rack of ribs.

It was late on a Sunday evening and we were on the hunt for a restaurant, well we wondered into Northwood family restaurant and even though it was less than an hour to closing we were promptly seated and served. The fried mushrooms were so delicious I highly recommend them if you like mushrooms. I had the burrito it was also very delicious. Many of my family in the area really like this place and I see why. I recommend this place if you're in the area.

Lovely family friendly, great food.

Huge selection on the menu from fish to pasta, burgers to chops. The Hand dipped mushrooms and onions rings were just right. French dip and burger were large and we took plenty of leftovers home with us.

Our waitress was very friendly and exceptional helpful.

One of my favorite restaurants. We've been going here for over 15 years with my parents mostly but by ourselves as well. The menu is very kid friendly although my kids are all teenagers now. The fish is excellent as are many of the other entree's. One of the few places where you get a choice of soup or salad and a potato and a vegetable as part of your meal.

Good ambiance, clean bathrooms, quick service, friendly staff. Awesome food!! Large portions. Top notch restaurant. Definitely will be back!!!

Food was excellent !! I feel most everything was homemade. Could use updating but that will NOT stop us from going again. Tabitha was an outstanding waitress !!!!

I had the Pineapple Pork Chop with Mashed potatoes and gravey and their chicken noodle soup is amazing!!

Very good food. Great service and super quick. Their wings were very crispy and had great flavor. Their shrimp lenny was also great!

Phenomenal!!!!!!! Couldn't have ask for better food. The whitefish was so good and the hand battered mushrooms were huge!!!!!

The shrimp crab wrapped with bacon was just sublime . They exceed expectations with the unassuming exterior. And the staff were so kind and attentive. Thanks for a beautiful lunch .

Nice family restaurant. Very good food, good selection, a little on the expensive side. Wait staff was friendly but a little overwhelmed. Could have used a couple more servers. Over all nice place and would highly recommend.👍🏼

Southwoods is always a good time with good food, drinks, and a family atmosphere. Northwoods in Oden, MI the sister restaurant is always a winner.

Great local place across the street from the lake. Both the service and food were wonderful. The portion sizes were quite large.
