Strother Cemetery

This place is private property, I guess. It is like a beautiful park with giant trees and a stone surrounding wall- and you can walk right in. The Beeson family mausoleum is directly in the center, and it has been suggested that more than 15 people are actually housed within. Though there are some stones in the area around the mausoleum, it is not known if there are burials outside the structure itself.
The family came to Niles from Pennsylvania some time around 1825. Strother Beeson built this around 1869 as a resting place for his beloved mother, Judith Ann Lewis. The Beeson Mansion (built 1847) is still just across the street and the present owners are not related to the family.

This may be the only private cemetery viewable to the public in this part of the Midwest. You'll find the tomb in the middle of the cemetery and then you'll have to walk around to find the other grave stones. It looks like people have somewhat vandalized some of the stones.

Ok so the story I was told growing up is that the womans daughter died and she's in there for the rest of the mothers life she would walk over there and light a candle and to this day 100 sum years later there's a light coming from inside of there Idk go down there at night it's spooky af and it's always foggy down there
