Bought a gun there today! Please keep in mind when visiting any gun shop, Gun shops get robbed, broke in and stuff stolen all the time. Now put yourself in the owners shoes. He doesn’t know you, or what your intentions are. He can not and should not let his guard down. In my case today, Gary was knowledgeable and was a pleasure to purchase from. I’ll definitely will be back.

Great reloading supplies! Good selection of new and used guns. Gary is empathetic about people being taken advantage of by others or going down difficult paths. With his no-nonsense discussion it comes across as crass. I found him to be very honest and reliable. Will definitely be back for more

First time I went in here the owner was very short. May have been due to my arrival first thing in the morning. My second interaction was much better and I'm happy to continue to make purchases here. I see many bad reviews on Google and to that I say, quit your whining Karen, best shop in town is worth a grumpy owner from time to time

Best guy in town, incredible inventory and knows his stuff, I wont go anywhere else, don't listen to these other sour people, opionions are like, you know, everybody thinks theirs matters, if you want a quality firearm go to gary.

Spent a little time reading these reviews and have to say my experience was very different than what I've read here.

I've seen into this shop a couple times and the first time I just bought a couple Magpul PMags but Gary seemed very friendly to me. He didn't say much but we did make some small talk and he did ask if I needed any help and when I said "no thanks, just looking" he said just to let him know if I had any questions. Few weeks later, just recently I went back to pick up a couple GLOCK 17 mags for my GLOCK 19 Gen4 for the range. I noticed that Gary's prices were noticeably less than in Grand Rapids where I live so I figured I'd stop in since I was in the area and again, they seemed friendly to me. I happened to spot a GLOCK 19X, first one I've seen in-stock anywhere so I stopped back by a second time later that day and snagged that too, again friendly and very helpful. I'm not saying people are lying about how they treat their customers but I have to wonder what both sides of the conversation sounded like. I worked retail as a manger for 8 years and I tell you what, I had plenty of customers I just wanted to tell to get the heck out of the store!

Side note, the prices seem to be better here then at some of the shops around Grand Rapids. I had called several shops in GR looking for a GLOCK 19X a couple weeks previously and was told they had a wait list and that they were between $659 and $679 dollars, Gary's has them for $624.00. The only place I've seen them cheaper (only $25 less) was online and that was before shipping and FFL fees so yeah the price was not too bad. Saw several other items in the shop that were less than most of the GR stores, I'll have to remember them next time I need something! I would gladly shop at Gary's again.

I have bought several guns here. Yes Gary is rude. So are most of the people he has to deal. I don't go in to be his buddy. I go to buy guns. They have good prices and prompt service.

Was a little iffy about coming here because of the reviews but decided to stop by anyways. Has a large selection and great prices. Only place in town with a lot of GLOCKS to choose from. Picked up a brand new Glock 23 and some ammo for a good price. Soon as I walked in I was greeted and received 1 on 1 service. Process was quick and smooth. I’ll definitely will be returning.

After asking a friend who has the best prices on gunpowder, I called Gary's to see if they had what I wanted. For real firearms enthusiasts and reloaders this is a good place. After reading so many negative reviews I went anyway because they had what I wanted for a good price. I did not expect to have my butt kissed and I wasn't dissapointed, but I actually found Gary's wife to be a very nice lady and from what I remember about Gary he's not a bad guy. You just have to put yourself in his shoes. If you owned a gun shop in Muskegon, you would get a lot of people there who don't know what they need or are looking for, people who are misinformed or flat out wrong as to what a good weapon is, and occasionally a customer who is up to no good. If you don't know about weapons and you go to ask Gary his opinion, don't be surprised if you hear something you don't like. The customer just isn't always right when it comes to weapons. You have people who just want the cheapest saturday night special that goes bang and people who have an affinity for brands that aren't safe or have poor QC. Gary doesn't cater to those kind of people. If you need information, he might not give it to you in the most tactful manner but he won't try to sell you a crappy weapon and what you do buy from him be it a weapon, ammo, accesory, whatever else it will be fairly priced. There are closer places to me any day of the week, but I'll drive to Gary's to give them my money instead of the guy who will charge at least $8 more for the same 1lb of gunpowder.

As gun shops go, and after going to multiple ones in Grand Rapids, I like this one. I know some people say their service is not great or not talkative, but how many times have you been waiting on some jack*ss blabbing and not buying anything so you can have your turn?? That has to be the worst part of a gun store. It's nice to be able to ask questions and buy what you want. No trying to upsale you or get you to buy something else instead. They gave me $50 more on my trade in than anyone else, even in G.R. Gary gave me a good deal on the Glock 23 I wanted, had a used one in stock, and it was a nice quick sale. I also bought my used Shield .40 from them as well. And this is when there were 4 people buying guns a head of me. Quick sales to them also! Very happy with Gary's and their service and will be looking for my Glock 43 purchase from them also.

This is my go to place for all of my needs firearms related. They are kind people that work there that are very knowledgeable. with the pandemic and all he has done his best to keep stock on hand, it's a wonderful business and te people are very respectful.

I never do reviews on places I go but I’m doing this one to debunk all the reviews I read saying the people who run this place are rude. Nothing is further from the truth. I didn’t read into them all that much anyway because people say the same about me. Gary is just a straight shooter ( pun intended). This will be my go to gun shop now. Made the process quick and simple. Friendly and inviting.

Went in just before they were getting ready to close and they were still happy to help and got me a beautiful handgun at a very reasonable price. I will absolutely be back to purchase my AR when I have the cash and any other firearm purchases I make. Thank you for the excellent service

Had a fantastic experience today at Garys Guns. I shopped 2 other places and his price was by far the best. Gave me great 1 on1 service and i even bought ammo and 2nd magazine. I will be going back.

I honestly don’t see why all the bad reviews…I’ve been going there a few years now.They always greet me and my grandkids when we come and always has the answers I need or ask for. Has great deals and prices..

Gary's Guns is a great place to go. Made many many purchases. Gary and Peggy have helped me with information. Both very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

I purchased two bt-100 guns from Gary and I found him to be very helpful and knowledgeable
He is a straight shooter and you won't find anyone as honest and trustworthy as him

If you need someone to rub your back and tell you are amazing then maybe you should buy your guns elsewhere but if you want honest advise from a fair and trustworthy buisneses
