Nexus-Mille Lacs Family Healing

This place helped me so much with my anger issues and my mental health. At first I didn’t like being there but then again almost everyone doesn’t like being there and after a while I got used to being there and even made some friends. But eventually I got through the program and now enjoying my life with my parents again.

When I got here I thought it was going to be the worst thing ever it took while for me to adjust and they help me with my emotions now I have they are the nicest people I've ever met and I'm deeply sorry for hurting the staff there one day I'll come and visit or work there

When my parents sent me to nexus I thought it was going to be the worst thing ever but when I went there it wasn’t bad I actually liked it because the staff there made my stay the best. This goes out to Mikey, Travis, Katie, Chris, Cody and Michael the staff that were in program 3 although I missed my family a lot they still made my stay honorable to me I sort of wish I was still there and that’s why I want to work there when I turn 21. Thank you to all nexus Mille lacs staff.

Great place hated it at first but got more insight, to my behaviors and began to like it. Discharged successfully and now living a wonderful life thanks to all Nexus Millie Lacs staff thank you so much for everything you have given me. Strongly recommend this place if your child is struggling in anyway.

This place use to be so productive. In 2000, 2001, 2002. It was separated into 4 programs each with its own age limits. I remember program 3 use to be a ship theme. Each program had its own theme. Violence was forbidden and punished harshly, sometimes involving police. There were camping trips and ice fishing trips on mille lacs lake every year. Canoeing, Lots of trips to different places. Cursing was punished. We never had a pool or rock climbing wall, and the wood piles were enough to keep most residents inline.

When I was there I was there for 15 months it was ok besides the therapist I really didn’t like but they all helped me a lot and this goes out for Troy shon Travis Mickey Chris Katie f Kristen kaley Jackie and program 4 staff I want to thank all of you guys for the help you gave me and all the things you guys did for me you guys helped me out a lot and helped me become a better person than I was before when I first got there I learned how to use my coping skill and different kind of strategies to use when I am struggling so thank you guys so much :)

"My son has been here a yr and been bullied, beat up several times to the point of black eyes, bloody noses, broken glasses ...ect. this place is horrible ...the staff have no training, all it takes to work there is a background check, fingerprints done by police and a criminal check threw the police dept. This place is a joke. They also allow the children to swear , my son never swore till he went into this place now he is foul mouthed like a truck stop .

It was terrible. Made my son lie and hurt his sisters feelings and was very judgmental towards others. Really need more training in many other ways. Made my son believe that his family didn't love him. It was all lies. I would never recommend this place for anyone and but my son feels different he began to understand others feelings and started have empathy for others even though some things were not the best over all my sons is a better person for it thanks to all nexus staff

This place was actually really good when I had first got there I was there for almost up to 2 years and the first 5 months it was great but then I went downhill so fast it was even funny the staff qualifications were trash it seemed like they had just hired anyone and all the activities had just stopped so it wasn’t as fun and productive as it was and the therapy there was not good at all I’m talkin horrible there was kids that would cut themselves and the therapist would say they do not care and to basically keep doing it. I am not going to lie there was a lot of “riots” I’m not going to lie I was part of them but they had made it so easy and they would let us do it and the staff would sit back and watch. I remember when a youth had cut himself so deep he was basically bleeding out and I had to patch him up with a fish hook and a piece of fishing line cuz they did not want them to go to the hospital cuz they didn’t have “transportation”. I would not recommend sending your kid here at all.
