Partridge Run Wildlife Management Area

It was breathtakingly beautiful as always. Find a wildlife management parking space bring some water maybe a snack and go for a hike.

Well marked trails. Very little growth and brush on the ground, so cutting through the woods is easy. The water and everything else, is very clean!

Partridge Run Wildlife Management Area has been my second home for a couple of decades mostly for trail running without human interaction. Very remote, very few hikers. Stay away during hunting season and know the dates. Respect the hunt. Winter running on the well groomed snowmobile trails is a precious experience. The snow here can reach thigh deep. I admit part of the allure is hearing the local bigfoot community tree knocking, chattering, screaming and whooping. Respect the night and leave by dusk. Awesome wild forest with close to a dozen remote ponds and lakes for for fishing and kayaking.

A Fantastic place for back country skiing! It's got everything from wide flat woods roads to off trail glade skiing to the challenging, "Franzenklammer" trail. Partridge Run an exciting place for Nordic skiing.

It's been years now, but growing up and as a young adult in the Albany area in the '70s and '80s I often went to Partridge Run. To hike, bird watch, picnic, snowshoe... it is a scenic, quiet area of dirt roads, trails, ponds and woods where you can be alone and enjoy the outdoors.

Partridge run wildlife is the best state land to hunt walk fish have fun with your family and friends by yourself however you want to enjoy in the woods you can go there and do it is a lot of stuff to do there.

Love this place to get away. Very rarely do you cross paths with other people on this trail. Great for pups too.
