Cute park along the river in Grantham that used to serve as the grounds for the old Fairground. Hiking is easy on relatively flat land. Can get noisy from the traffic along 89 but doesn’t take way from the beauty of the landscape.

I discovered this park by chance as I drove past on my way to a different conservation area ... what a gem! The water in the Brook was low leaving beautiful rocks exposed and shallow pools of water. There was enough water, however, to still create small waterfalls.

The trails are well marked accompanied with periodic maps showing where you are. Informational signs are also posted to point out a massive glacial erratic boulder, specific trees, and terrain. The QR codes on these signs provide the opportunity to gain more information as well.

The only downside is the traffic noise from routes 89 and 10, but that can't be helped.

Kudos to the people developing and minting this site.

A very sweet little hiking trail in tiny Grantham, New Hampshire. What makes this trail so special it’s not just it’s natural beauty and the waterfalls along the Brook, but the little signs throughout the trail that talk about the history of Grantham and the types of trees in the park. A really wonderful experience from spring through late fall. I go there a few times each month to just unwind. Lying on the flat rocks within the brook is a spectacular place to have a picnic or to just unwind with a book.

Tired of driving? Get off 89 at exit 13 and follow Old Route 10 south. Soon you'll be at Brookside Park and you can stick your tired feet in some cold water or take a short hike to get your blood moving again. There are no facilities there, and be prepared to carry and carry out. Leave it better than you left it as my grandmother used to say!

This is a really great little park. Despite it being only a few minutes off the interstate, it proved to be an exceptionally quiet place to have an afternoon picnic. There was only one other car in the lot the entire time we were there and we never even ran into the other party when we explored the trails. In addition to having a full size picnic table and a garbage can, they even had a little free library on site! Lots of trail to explore, despite it being a small park. Would gladly stop again the next time I pass through!

I love this park. It isn't a terribly long path but it is along a beautiful stream and sections are labeled with interesting historical information. Context plus the aesthetic appeal are main components to why I find to be one of my favorite locations. Parking can be a touch awkward, no bathroom facility, and one picnic table would make it a little difficult if it were to get busy but that generally isn't the case.

A nice little town park with a history. This narrow park between I89 and Old Route 10 in Grantham provides access to trails along Skinner Brook. Built from an old farm property it has a nice wooden bridge over the babbling brook and historic markers telling the story of farming back in the day. Local school kids make a field trip here and the parking lot is often used by workers in the area on lunch break.

This is a great place for a quick walk. One mile in and out and lots of interesting facts along the trail. I especially like it in the winter.

A gem of a park for all ages.
As long as you keep an eye on toddlers, it will be an awesome time.
The water in the brook is clear as could be and swimmable!

Had lunch at the picnic table off the edge of the trail right by the brook. It was a great place to stop and take a break during a bike ride.
