Halfmoon Auto Care

I recently moved to NY from RI about 5 months ago and dreaded the idea of having to find another mechanic that I trusted. Halfmoon auto care was AMAZING. Friendly, professional, HONEST. I was so impressed with the service they provided I will most certainly be going back to them in the future for any car needs. I had a battery replaced in December 2020 by AAA and in March 2021 the battery was giving me issues. I called Bob on a Saturday and he told me I could drop it off and he would look at it on Monday. He called me first thing Monday morning and explained what he believed was going on. Told me he would keep my car overnight and try it again in the morning. Tuesday he called me and gave me an update: everything was good, except for my battery. I asked if I could come pick it up Wednesday and he said he would charge it overnight for me so I could bring it home and get a new battery since it had a 3 year warranty on it and it was only 3 months old and failing. Highly recommend him and his team if you need any services. I know I’ll be telling all my family and friends to go there first. Thanks, Bob and Halfmoon Auto Care. Bob is a great guy. He is honest and does good work. He is my go to mechanic. Over the years he has continued to provide excellent car care for my family, for my friends and for me. I trust him, which is says a lot. He goes out of his way to ensure he can do the most cost effective work for each situation. Over the years he has addressed everything from routine maintenance to electrical work to diagnostics of much more complicated issue. He even serviced our plow! He is VERY responsive to texts/ calls which is essential for me. Everyone who I've sent to him ( even my cousin who used to be a mechanic ) has been very impressed. We are fortunate to have Bob as our mechanic. Thanks Bob!

This is the first honest mechanic I have been to in long time. Bob is all around knowledgeable and have now been to him twice. His prices are reasonable for excellent work! It’s great to not feel ripped off! I feel very fortunate to have found Halfmoon Auto Care and will continue to look to Bob for needed autocare.

Bob and his team are driven by customer satisfaction. They go above and beyond to make they're customers happy and to give them peace of mind. They're true mechanics, not your dealership "Technician" who only knows how to fix something if the onboard computer tells them. On top of all that, his prices beat the chain places and he gives you confidence in knowing the work was done right.

Hands down one of the most honest auto repair shops i have ever been to. Don't be fooled by the theory that dealerships know your car better than an independent shop. Bob knows his stuff, getting repairs done quickly and correctly, while valuing his time and yours. Very fair labor rates and upfront about the costs of replacement parts.

The best auto repair you could ask for. This is my 2nd time getting work done here. I went with the wrong parts and Bob went out of his way to go get the parts I needed. Urgent care! We were on a road trip in our daughter’s car when we began to hear some thumping. Pulled off the road and saw no flat tires. Brakes had been replaced yesterday. Found Half Moon Auto Care nearby….drove right over there, they immediately put the car on the lift, diagnosed that the tires had not been re-attached properly after brake job! Fixed that, charged us NOTHING, and sent us on our way. Maybe saved our lives; certainly saved our vacation trip! And reaffirmed our faith in good people!

Highly recommend Bob. I Have taken my car and my wifes and Bob has done an excellent job on both. Great service and pricing. I work for an auto dealer and still go to Bob. I recommended him to my fellow co workers and friends.

Bob is a very honest mechanic.
I was told by Midas that I had to replace my 2005 Honda Accord's entire exhaust system and it would cost me 1800$. After suspecting that Midas was trying to rip me off I took my car to Halfmoon Auto Care and by that time I had bought all the parts. Bob looked at it and told me that I didn't need any of the parts and he fixed it for only 137$. I returned the parts to Napa and saved 540$! Bob, thanks a lot again, and I wish you all the success!

This place has great service! I was able to drop my car off early in the morning before work. Bob kept me up to date with the progress of my service. There were no surprises in cost or repairs when my family and I picked up the car later that day. Thanks again!

Bob saved me a lot of money. The dealer(North Star Chevy) quoted me a repair that was in the thousands, however, Bob discovered that is was something much smaller than they had diagnosed. Very happy with Bobs work.

Battery was shot - Bob and his crew helped me and got my car (with a new battery) up and running in under 30 minutes. He's a great guy - he offers dealership quality for half the cost.

Bob will restore your faith in automobile repair. Fair, personable and honest. He is competent and he gets the job done. I was very pleased with the service I received

I can't really put into words how much I appreciate what Bob has done for me, the man's on vacation supposed to be cooking Christmas Eve dinner with his wife stops everything he's doing and comes down to his shop and fixes my car and inspects it, I don't even know the man and for somebody that do that on Christmas Eve is priceless, I own a 1981 z28 it's a show car multiple trophies I would have no issues leaving that car with Bob to work on it, so if you're looking for a reliable mechanic Bob is your man, Darryl B DeLaMater

Dropped off my wife's van for front brakes,an oil change and tire rotation on 3/1/18. Overnight we got a foot of snow and places were not delivering parts. He drove to Albany picked up the parts himself and had my car done by 10:00 am . He new I had to work on Saturday and my wife had somewhere to go so he did not want us to worry about having to get our car back. That is going over sand beyond for your customers most mechanics would have had us wait until Saturday to get our vehicle done.
