Capitol Peak Outfitters

September 25th, 2023 My wife and I road horseback up Capital Creek Road to the Hell Roaring Trail and on up to Hardscrabble Lake. We fished and ate lunch. Parker was our guide. He was very informative and helpful with the fishing. The horses could not have been better. I highly recommend Capital Peak Outfitters. Everything was exactly as it was described before hand. Thanks to Parker for making this a very memorable experience.

Beautiful ride! We did the 1/2 day. Our horses Billy and Darling were awesome and well taken care of. Our trail guide Wyatt was great! Definitely coming back next time we are in the area, we want to do the camping trip next time!

Did the 2 hour tour. Breathtaking views at the top. Our guide Reed, was friendly, knowledgeable, and took some great pictures of us.

I had the opportunity to ride with the Howe family today for the half day. John and Heather were incredibly welcoming and so excited to welcome me. Hunter was my guide and to say he was amazing is an understatement. The ride was so beautiful, going through the Aspen trees and into the open vistas. The views were amazing!!!
I can’t wait to go back and ride with Capitol again.

Recently did a 4 day pack trip with our amazing guide Parker. The area is amazing and was an incredible experience. I am thankful for the attention showed to my group by the guide and had an amazing time fishing and taking in the beautiful scenery. Jon and crew are wonderful.

My husband and I went on the 1 hour trail ride, we wished we went with the two hour! It was fantastic! The views was amazing, the horses (Tinker bell and Billy) was total sweethearts, our guide (Landon) was totally laidback and a excellent guide he was really nice! Next time we come back to aspen we are doing the half day for sure!!

Today three of us went for a private 1 hour trail ride. We can not stop talking about how amazing the experience was. It seemed a little confusing when our maps said we were there but we did not see any signs or anything . But we made it and our guide Emily could not have been more awesome. We had one nervous rider and she recommended a certain horse (Tinkerbell) and the two couldn't have been a better pair. Emily was so knowledgeable about the area and very engaging. I have already recommended to friends and will continue to do so! Cannot say better things about Emily or the horses. Especially Tinkerbell. Until next time!!!!

We had a great experience with our half day ride which is advertised for 4-4.5 hours but it was longer which was great! The horses were fantastic! They weren’t the brain dead trail horses you get that are ridden day in and day out. They all had their own personalities and knew their job. This ride will take you up into Maroon Bells Wilderness Area and the views are absolutely incredible. I personally am an experienced rider, but my mom and sister both had only been on 1 hour trail rides once in their life. Our guide (Zach) was kind, aware of his surroundings, pointed out landmarks and random facts for the area. It helped that he also grew up in the area. Jon the owner was easy to work with. We requested the half day ride the day before and he accommodated us. The lunch wasn’t a normal sack lunch. Homemade fried chicken, fruit, chips, and chocolates.
What you should know... Capital Peak hauls their horses in daily from a local ranch that you pass going up to the meet site. It is several miles up a gravel road where you meet at a trailhead to start. We had a two wheel drive car and it was just fine for any folks from the city wondering. Also, bring water bottles. While they provide a water bottle for lunch, I would recommend bringing more to put in your saddlebag. If you want a unique experience and views that you aren’t going to see with any other outfitter, this is the place! For the price, you get way more for your money than at any other stable in the area.

We did the half day ride and it was incredible. The horses were good and the guide, Roger, was a lot of fun! If you want a great trip and some incredible views along the way, I couldn't recommend them more. Thanks guys!

Exceptional Outfitter and super nice folks that where very accommodating as our schedule changed morning of our ride. My wife and I rode the "Crown" part of Elk Range with view of Mt Sopris as background. We did half day ride , Trails where wide and technically moderate, only one steep part on way down but well worth the views from up top. 95 % of this ride is for all levels . We had a fitting fried chicken lunch sitting in Aspens with our horse and mule near by. There are no picture's or words I could write to express the amazing country you will be blessed to experience. It is on earth as it is in heaven and you will find it in the Colorado Rockies. If your looking for Rocky Mountain High this is it. Thank you Wes and everyone at Capitol Peak for great experience.

Had a great ride with Roger! Due to inclement weather we chose not to fish but he was willing. He took us on a route with amazing views!

We did a half day ride with Chance. We had an awesome ride with equally awesome views! This outfitter knocked it out of the park! I highly recommend them!

We went on a morning 2 hour ride with Cory and it was FANTASTIC! Great guide great company. Look forward to doing it again on our next visit

Our guide Curry (Corey) was great he took us for a gorgeous ride with beautiful horses all over the mountains, very recomendable !

Had planned a hunting trip and invested over $50,000 shutting down our construction company for 2 weeks to make this once in a lifetime trip John and his crew did not disappoint communication was excellent service was excellent and even when there was a hiccup John and his staff addressed it immediately five stars and would highly recommend capital peak and Aspen outfitters to anyone extremely happy with their services and will use them again
