Miss Kathy's Short Branch Saloon

As of the end of may. 2023, bar or restaurant was not open due to the fire. And the lodge is opened by Ms. Kathy who was very kind.
A salon's lodge was very silent and quiet place that feels like I am in a vacuum, except for the sound of the desert wind. And also, good for stargazing in the night.

Great atmosphere , decor. Miss Kathy is a hoot ,& world of local knowledge. I was there as.part of a ladies luncheon and we had do it yourself chef salad . Great idea with 15 people. Everything was fresh and nicely arranged.
Heard she puts out a mean burger and beef on Fridays.

Great Place To Visit! Kathy is an amazing host! We love going out here to visit and explore the area! Recommend reaching out to her so she can accommodate you at the bar! She also operates an Airbnb and Campground in the back!

Kathy serves you herself, and that's a treat. What the menu lacks (only one item is served, pizza with meat!), the conversation with Kathy fill in amply. It's a place like no other in Nevada. And passing through Crystal you're bound pull in!

3 miles further than the middle of nowhere and well worth the drive.

Great bar. Good food, good drinks, friendly bartender. Food is made with love, menu depends on the day.

My husband and I and our sweet black lab stayed at one of her cabins 2 months while our home was in its final phase of being completed she was the most kind and thoughtful lady to let us stay their we couldn't stay at any other hotel they dont allow larger dogs. I have to say this from my heart I just don't know what we would have done because you see we moved from Missouri to Pahrump NV and was praying for a good place for us and our pet and she made it happen .Thanks Kathy 😊

Heard about Miss Kathy's place so I decided to ride over and check it out. What an oasis of fun! Band playing great music, people laughing and dancing (a rare site in these covid times) and Miss Kathy, incredibly friendly.
A must place to go!

A great lady who's down to earth with much common sense and tells it like it is (all American lady!) It was bit ago when we had a burger & beer there but something recently reminded me of the Short Branch and spurred me to write this review. Anyway, its a good place!

I haven't been there for a while but when I went there, it was wonderful people were all nice. I enjoyed the food .

Never had a bad time here. Food is good prices are good. The owner has to be one of the main attractions, very funny and very BLUNT! Be careful how talk to her, she will tell it like it is. Customers are very interesting as well.

We're so glad we found this place! Kathy is so nice and happy to share her knowledge and love of Nevada. We'll definitely be back the next time we go to Vegas!

kathy is a sweetheart, the room is very cozy, comfortable and clean. It was great hanging out with her and talking in the bar, she made us feel welcome and at home instantly. 10/10 will come back.

This great little saloon is a local gem and the owner is famous for her fun personality. There are also Airbnbs' in the back for over-nighters. Bonus "Super Host" accomodations at a fair price. If ever driving through on the way to Death Valley, you must stop and give Miss Kathy a visit.

It is what it is, a saloon in the middle of nowhere. So be grateful it exists at all. Had a fantastic beer and burger.

Had a few drinks, Miss Kathy was working the bar, my sides hurt from laughing so much she has a lot of stories about the area and such, stayed the night in the motel behind the bar everything was great, awesome little getaway

My wife and I had a great time at the Short Branch. Kathy had some great stories and knows the area. We plan on going back in the near future!

I don't want to many people to know about it. It seems to be the last quiet place in America.

Built for authors and artists. No WIFI, but yoeu phone works. You wouldn't think a Saloon offers quietness...no. This hasn't been a Saloon. It's more like a breathable space.

Will be great again soon once the renovation is completed.
Kathy is simply the best host.

Let me be the first to tell you that Miss Kathy is full of piss and vinegar. Oh man what an attitude this one has. but please dont mistake what i have to say as a bad thing. I wouldnt want or expect it to be any other way. I love this bar, from the bonfire pit to the readly available rooms. the dinks are good, the people are great and Miss Kathy's attitude only adds to what this place has. and Miss Kathy if you are reading this, you can kick my ass when i see you next lol. always a good time
